It has just collected another 10M views in 2 hours.
Yes, it means people in China are still watching this in the middle of the night!

Not really sure about this at all. Right now, it only seems that they are keen about views in China. And that need to watch for 20 mins, that could apply to rewatch. Someone here mentioned that a while ago.

If you are too young, you may not be able to relate to YAMG. Particularly, if you are not a working adult and…
I see! I am glad you feel this way. Please do not say that you will never comment in any drama. Because, sometimes when you comment, you can learn many things.

All of you should really try The Oath of Love, when that one is out. If nothing else, it will be a nice comparison,…
I did not watch any of Yang Zi's modern dramas, and XZ did not have any modern drama prior to TOOL. And TOOL coming so close to YAMG, I want to watch at least a few episodes, to compare Reba's acting style with Yang Zi's. Also keen to see how XZ perform in his first modern drama.

As there are no good dramas currently airing, if the story is good and the acting grips me, I might even finish the entire series, so I can do a fair comparison.

Anyway, sooner or later, we have to move on from YAMG. There could be some good historical dramas coming up toward last few months of the year.

Totally agree with you.. But the way they meet each other parents has also been changed. So, the 1st time that…
Didn't read the novel, but always knew they had to change some stuff, as novel and drama are two very different medium. If they copy 100% or even 99%, they should not say this is an adaptation. Should just say directly copied from a novel.

We are dealing with two very experienced actors. Will not be surprised if many of these changes were suggested by them.

If you are too young, you may not be able to relate to YAMG. Particularly, if you are not a working adult and do not have working adult sibblings who are close to you and share their work issues with you.

Because many work issues are addressed in YAMG, and I suspect those issues are not explored in FIYS.

Don't know why. But it is indeed not wise to keep doing the same kind of stuff. And China could be clamping down…
These two are very different kinds of drama. Very early on, I did somewhat of a comparison of audience profile. If I were to do it again, it would basically show the same results. If you look at the age profile of viewers of FIYS and YAMG, they are somewhat different. Especially for the age group 25-34. Far less people from this age group watched FYIS compared to YAMG. As people from this age group are primarily working adults, so more from this age group relate to YAMG, as more adult related themes like work issues are explored (compared to FIYS).

So, they are basically rather different. I would say, generally YAMG will appeal to slightly older viewers.

Plus I heard they are aiming for TV broadcast which will boost the popularity
That is something they need to consider very carefully. Because the Chinese authorities apply two different standards. For web series, they are more relaxed. For TV, they are stricter, as very young people may end up watching it on TV on their own. I think violence and sex are what they are most concerned with. Too much of those and you can be sure it will not be shown on TV in China.

Haha. It is quite ok. I do not mind it either. I am not a gaming person. But, if Chinese viewers do like it, I think more gaming dramas may be coming up.

However, they should really spread it out. Because there are already three gaming related dramas one after another, at such close intervals.

The next one ought to be at least a year from now. Otherwise, any new gaming drama risks being compared to these latest three. Especially YAMG. In China at least, viewers will definitely compare the next gaming drama with YAMG, as it likely the most successful of the three recent gaming dramas.

Just finished re-watching it ( it's my 4th time). I know, I know, I'm crazy and obsessed. And every time I enjoy…
You asked this question at the right time. If you love TLB so much, you very likely love the acting of Dilraba. You should definitely try "You are my glory". It is currently airing. Great couple. Strong FL. Very happy ending. I think you will like it

I do not think the gaming community will 'die'. But, even if there is a curb, novel writers will catch the signal. I think the smarter ones will start to write about something else. And most dramas in China depend on either novels or manhuas as the source materials. So, once there are less gaming novels, there will naturally be less gaming dramas.

Can anyone tell me how to distract myself to this couple they are in mind 24/7.
All of you should really try The Oath of Love, when that one is out. If nothing else, it will be a nice comparison, as that too is a romance drama, and also has two big stars. YAMG is still fresh in our mind, so doing a comparison will be quite fun.

But do be careful though. Do not go the forum there and tell them YAMG is the best. They will not like it.

Read this one:

If this proposal by Tencent goes through, children under the age of 12 in China may be ban from playing video games.

All the games developers are really afraid. You can see how the shares of Tencent nosedived. The Chinese government is nothing to be trifled with. If they really go after the gaming industry, they will not care how big Tencent is.

They have gone after Alibaba in the past, and recently have also gone after Tencent.

So, I suppose if a person is a novel writer, that person better bear that in mind. It is a risk he/she will have to take. Besides, there has already been so many gaming novels and so many gaming dramas. There is only so much that the Chinese audience can take. Have Chinese authors run out creativity and cannot create a new genre??

I really do not know. I am just trying to guage the sentiments of the Chinese government toward gaming. If they feel that these video games are addictive, they might just clamp down on video games. Already Tencent has started to impose some restrictions on how long a young person in China can play this game. Not sure if you have read that article.

Edit: I feel that in China, this drama has reached beyond the fan base of Dilraba and Yang Yang. Non-fans of the novel, non-fans of Reba and non-fans of Yang Yang have joined in the fun. All the hype surrounding this drama has got to them. They are starting to feel that if they do not watch it, they are missing something special, and they don't want that feeling.
