I am as curious as you are. I only know that Janice Wu was the female lead in that drama.

Nothing wrong with her voice at all. She would not have gotten this far in her career if she has a bad voice. She speaks Mandarin with pretty much the standard accent that all Chinese in China should be able to understand, hence she is very comfortable to do all those countless interviews. She spent years at the Shanghai Theatre Academy before launching her acting career. She majored in Theatre studies, during which she must have attended many classes to learn about voice inflexion and so on.

Lu Si spent many months with Dilraba while working on TLB project. I am pretty sure she would have learned a thing or two from Reba, how to deliver those badass roles. We should be able to see proof of that, in her dramas next year.

Lu Si has a face that is almost custom-made for doing rom-com. Her facial expression comes so naturally for those kind of dramas. She just need to learn how to do some of Reba's facial expressions, and she can nail those badass roles.

I really wanted to give some of the OSTs in YAMG more opportunities to grow on me. Thought the melody will work, if I listened to them often enough. Sadly it didn't. Only the opening and ending OSTs were ok. Lots of the stuff in between were lacking in quality. It is such a pity. So many people in China. Surely, they can find better composers?? For a drama as big as this?? Sadly, they didn't.

Yes, I was here when it crashed. You can see how powerful that Disney promo was. Together with high expectations for the ending episodes, it must have charmed lots of viewers from China, so much millions wanted to get in, and sent the apps crashing. It seems that this is the first time it happened to Tencent Apps.

This is just my opinion, but the OSTs for this drama are not as good as those from TLB. The melody for most songs are not as gripping. The opening OST from TLB is perhaps not appropriate for a modern drama, but the ending OST at TLB is certainly more melodious than many of the songs used in YAMG. If there are better songs, YAMG would have been even more impressive than what it already is. But, this is purely my opinion.

I like the music. I do not know the genre. All I know, it is very soothing and it goes well the clips you have selected.

You should definitely keep going. After 1st episode, it will slowly build up momentum. Some of the early part of the drama involves gaming. Since you like King's Avatar, you should have no issue with that. And later on, there will be lots of sweet interactions between Dilraba and Yang Yang. Besides the good rating here, there are now close to 3Billion views of this drama in China. Shows how good this drama is

They do that not because her voice is not good enough. She can easily dub her own voice. But doing that will be too time consuming, especially for historical. Besides, voice actors are much cheaper. And Dilraba has endless stream of stuff to do. Just make more sense to have voice actors do it.

If I am not wrong, all her modern dramas, she dub her own voice.

I do not watch much modern c-dramas. The only one I can think of right now is "Remembrance of Things Past". It has sweet interactions between the leads. But this drama contains more sadness than YAMG. If you can tolerate some amount of sadness, you can try it.

There are lots of modern Kdramas that focus a lot on romance.

I am more familiar with historical Cdrama. Dilraba has a historical drama called Eternal Love of Dream. She also has sweet interactions with the male lead in that drama.
