Li Chang Ge endured an Arrow to her chest twice but couldn't endure her Menstrual Cycleshe needed the lead to…
So, it would seem that with contribution from Azu Brief, Johanna and myself, and even yourself, our conclusion is, yes, it is entire possible for her to endure those arrow shots to her shoulder area, but could not endure the pain from her first menstrual cycle.
Menstrual cycle affects different women differently, and can really cause extreme pain to some. And Changge's period was her first and something she was never mentally prepared for. No adrenalin rush to protect her from the pain, compared to arrow shot. Those arrows could have also weaken her body, thus in pain and weakness, she needed Ashile Sun to carry her to the tent.
One of the first things A'sun tells her, in the camp, is that she's anemic and needs to drink medicine to replenish…
If you are saying a person is likely to feel more pain the day after a gunshot wound than immediately after the gunshot, that I agree. I often twist my ankle during a fall, and the pain does not come immediately but only a day after. Maybe that is how our body protect itself. Adrenalin rush is to let us experience less pain. And by the time the pain does come, a day or so later, we would have already recovered somewhat, and there will be less pain in the days following.
One of the first things A'sun tells her, in the camp, is that she's anemic and needs to drink medicine to replenish…
Yup. Increasing the body's pain threshold is same thing as decreasing the body to feel pain.
So, I do not have problem linking adrenalin rush to pain reduction felt by our bodies.
My question is, did those arrow shots cause adrenalin rush? Online articles said activities like skydiving, bungee jumping, boxing can cause adrenalin rush. Also stressful situation. I suppose being shot by an arrow must be pretty stressful? Our body must surely feel stressed if punctured by an arrow. So, yah, we can certainly conclude that Changge felt stressed when shot.
And you are also right in saying periods do not bring about adrenalin rush. Because if there is, women would not have felt so much pain during periods.
I have heard that they have hired people to vote down the ratings. The series has more than 3 billion viewers…
Xinchao is talking about people being hired to vote down the ratings of TLB in Douban. I think the ranking in Tencent video is based on viewership. So TLB is ranked 7, because its viewership is 3 billions plus, because other dramas have higher viewership. But, we do to know if this ranking is based on the entire data base at Tencent. If ranking is based on entire data, we need not worry. Because we could be comparing with past dramas which had ridiculously high viewership.
As Xinchao pointed, TLB was the number series in China for a month. Hence, compared to more recent dramas, it must have done very well and would certainly have ranked higher than 7. Furthermore, many people here in this forum pointed out this level of viewership was obtained despite not many promotional acitivities by Tencent.
So, we need not worry too much about Reba. Everyone in China knows that she did very well in TLB. Her future will be very very bright from now on.
At the Tecent conference on June 7 she will not be critisized, but praised for her performance in TLB.
One of the first things A'sun tells her, in the camp, is that she's anemic and needs to drink medicine to replenish…
I think you googled? I did the same thing. And adrenalin rush can indeed decrease the body to feel pain. That is why boxers can absorb all those punches during a boxing match.
So those arrow shots may not have caused as much pain to her, compared to periods.
I have another explanation for the 2nd arrow shot, the one she got from Ashile Shu. She was wearing the armour during the Tang Dynasty. I googled and found that that armour was specially made to withstand arrow shots. It may have penetrated her skin, but it left her with a shallower wound than she otherwise would have. So, she was able to pull out the arrow and stare at the Ashile troops.
CG was very impulsive and playful at first, a bit ignorant of politics, and of course she was of marriage age.…
Same here. I cannot get used to manhua or manga. The format just does not suit me. I do not know about manga, but just reading the manhua by Xia Da (on Li Changge) gives me headache. My head rotation goes haywire, having to turn right to left and sometimes up and down. I get so confused by all the conversations, not sure of the sequencing.
Unfortunately, our author Xia Da is not a writer but a cartoonist. And her manhua about Li Changge is simply mind blowing.
For them to reunite for TLB seanson 2 is not likely, the way they have it for the Eternal Love couple. We will need Xia Da to continue with her manhua. That is not going to happen anytime soon. And if they have Reba and Wu Lei act in another historical drama that is completely unrelated to TLB, I am not sure that serves any purpose for either of them, career wise.
But, having them act in a modern day drama could be cool. Maybe able to show different aspects of their on-screen chemistry. That would be refreshing. So, our chances could be high or at least higher than seeing them in any historical drama
Why didn't she walk out barefooted in the surrender scene?
Why didn't she walk out barefooted in the snow walk surrender scene in the drama, the way she did in the manhua?
Here I would like to offer an explanation why the screenwriters changed it in the drama, and made Changge walked out wearing shoes.
In the manhua, she walked out barefooted and hence her body was weakened due to the winder cold. This was a sub-theme used in the manhua. Xia Da drew her character as coughing frequently at the grasslands scenes. Even at Liuyan temple, she was still unwell. But, I don.t think Xia Da did anything much with this subtheme. But I did not read the entire manhua, yet, so I could have missed out something
If Xia Da did not do anything substantial with Changge being weak and always coughing, I think the screenwriters just wanted to do away with this aspect of her character. Changge always in manhua, no big deal. Just some bubbles by the side that say 'cough' 'cough'. You know how it is like in comics.
But Changge always coughing away would be rather different in the drama. It would interrupt many of the conversations, and make is rather distracting for viewers.
So, if they wish to remove the component that shows Changge to be rather sickly, why bother even making her walk barefooted in the drama?? Her walking out on her own, completely unarmed, carrying only that big box, that is more than sufficient to convey that she is rather non-threatening.
Unless we feel that Ashile troops is suspicious that the box contain some explosives. That would be highly unlikely. I doubt they had time bomb during the Tang era. If she had lit a fuse tied to explosives, and had wanted to perish with the Ashile troops, smoke would have come out from that box. And she would have needed much more than one box of explosives to kill that many Ashile troops.
So, a rather simple explanation would be, the screenwriters did away with Changge's health issues, and let her walk out with shoes. Acting wise, it was also better for Reba. They must have done many many takes for that scene. With shoes on, no need to worry about Reba irritated by stones or pebbles at the filming site. She can just concentrate on reading her lines, and carrying that heavy box.
For some reasons, I can only associate him with being a "sad face." Almost in all dramas that I remember seeing…
Truth be told, I do wish him well. He is the ML in a serious role. The drama should be aired next year. If he shines there, it will be good for his career.
CG was very impulsive and playful at first, a bit ignorant of politics, and of course she was of marriage age.…
A good inference, if you did not read the manhua. I just took the lazy route, to find out her age online. Did not read the manhua. But now, MK916 has already downloaded the PDF version of the manhua. I am quite motivated to read it and increase my understanding of this drama even more
What does that tell us? The menstrual cycle was more painful than the injury caused by those arrows. Joke aside,…
Please do not worry. Many people have read the original material. Still, we will do our best to explain things from the drama itself. We will only go to the original material, if this is necessary.
If we keep having to go to the original material, it means that the screenwriters for this drama did not do a good job. But, we do think that the screenwriters did an excellent job. However, they did adapt and change many things from the original material. So, that may cause some confusion for some of us.
Hence, please do not be shy, if you have any question. There are many of us here. and we are ever ready to explain things to you.
And Ashile Sun is indeed a rare one. Rare in Chinese historical drama (he gave Changge so much trust, so much freedom, so much protection, even at the risk of his own life), and I guess, much more rare in real life.
It’s been a month, but I cannot detox myself out of TLB. Everyday must still watch a few clips here and there,…
Not sure you read the comment made by someone, who said that she saw an interiew of the producer of TLB - Yan Bei is her name- and Yan Bei said in that interview, she would love to bring Reba and Wu Lei together in a modern drama.
I read your post and I love it, but honestly, after watching the whole drama, I don't understand how there are…
Some are 'serious' doubters. I mean, if they do not see the couple decked in red, bowing to parents, doing the tea ceremony, there is no marriage. Or they do not see them together in the final scene, so they say, CG and AS did not end up together. For these individuals, once we explain, they will understand.
But there are some insincere doubters out there. Whatever we do and however we explain, they will keep insisting that they are not married, and CG and AS did have end up happy togehter but went their separate ways in the grasslands. I do not know the motivation of these individuals. They could just be here to damper our spirit. Or to discourage others from watching this beautiful drama. If so, they may just be out to make sure that The Long Balled does not do well. In that case, they may just be anti-fan of Reba or Wu Lei. These people, we can just ignore. There is nothing we can do to change their opinion. We might as well just ignore them and maintain good mental health.

That scene was entirely realistic
