After I finished watching this series I tried to watch Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling of Zhao Lusi's currently airing…
Keeping looking around, until you find something good. If you still cannot, by then, You are my Glory will be aired. I went to that page in MDL, and lots of people there are suggesting that it will be shown very soon
I've never been hit by an arrow, but my period is one of the most painful experiences I've suffered in my life,…
But yes it is entirely possible that those two arrows to the shoulder could have weakened her. And the sudden onset of her 1st menstrual, a very painful one, just made it unbearable for her. So, if you are saying without those two arrow shots, she might have endured the pain. Very possible. But, it is also possible that the pain was just simply excruxiating, so much so that even without those arrows, she reacted the way she did
So, you are familiar with Eternal Love of Dream. There are no kissing scenes in this drama, because, very likely…
And she is very young. Just 19, according to her MDL page. She is still a student. I doubt she will want to kiss her way to stardom. If she is good, can let her eyes, her face, do the talking, not her mouth
I've never been hit by an arrow, but my period is one of the most painful experiences I've suffered in my life,…
The weakened from before scenario is possible in the original material, as, in the original material, Changge walked out in the snow barefooted, to surrender to Ashile Sun. It was winter time, so the original material show her always coughing when she reached the grasslands. Walking out barefooted in the snow during winter may have weakened her.
But, not so in the drama. In the drama, they changed it a bit. Chang Ge was wearing shoes during the surrender. And she was never coughing at all
What does that tell us? The menstrual cycle was more painful than the injury caused by those arrows. Joke aside,…
Here is a slightly more serious answer to your question as to why Chang Ge could endure two arrows to her chest but could not endure the pain from her first menstrual cycle.
From young, she was a tomboy. She engaged in activities like archery, horse riding, she dabbled in sword fighting and military strategies.
I think this may not have been put across very clearly in the drama, but when she had her 1st period, she did not know what hit her at that scene. In the manhua, the source material for this drama, Mimi asked her, "DIdn't your mother tell you about this?" Apparantly not.
I think that is why she could not take it. She did not know that she will soon experience her 1st menstrual, and it would be this painful. No one told her about it and warned about the pain.
She had taken part in archery. She knew what damage those arrows could do, and expected them to be painful. She was also taught from young, it was better to bleed blood than shed tears. So, she endured those pain from the arrow shots

Joke aside, that scene that you saw? We thought the writers delibrately set out to make it look funny. That when CG put her head on AS's shoulder, he thought that she was agreeing to their relationship and she was ready for some romantic actions with him in the middle of the night.
To those who didn't read the manhua before watching TLB or have prior knowledge to their characters' age when…
Very nice and interesting to read comments by both of you. Although I did not read the manhua, I cheated. I typed the name "Li Changge" in Google, and what did I get?
Google mentioned that she was about 15. I did not know how they got that. Anyway, I then referred this article: https://chang-ge-xing.fandom.com/wiki/Li_Changge, which basically says that she was extremely wise and mature for her age.
I then put two and two together and felt that 15 was about right, because if she was already 20 plus, that phrase 'extremely wise and mature for her age' would make no sense.
By then, I had started to read comments in this forum, and several manhua readers then mentioned that Changge was about 15, at Xuanwu Gate incident.
I did know Dilraba's real age before the series started, and some of the earliest comments in this forum were that she was too old to play the role of Li Changge. So, that also affirmed my belief that Changge was extremely young.
I only read the manhua very recently. One of the conversations in the manhua gave me the impression that Changge was only 14 plus in Episode 1. The manhua, of course, left me with no doubt that she was very young, because Xia Da drew her to be very small in size (as compared to our Dilraba, who is rather tall compared to the CG in the manhua).
I've just finished watching the 13th episode and all those who have seen this drama probably know how I'm currently…
TLB had a very good and experienced producer. She got two very good screenwriters to write the story. When she felt that earlier version of the story was not too good, she consulted the author of the manhua. The producer also wanted music to play a big part in the success of this drama.
The director is also very experienced. He paced the drama rather well and things moved along rather seamlessly. And the entire cast, acting was just superb.
I don't feel a strong connection with Mimi, but I find it sad that that the screenwriter has to kill her off.…
I feel the same way you do about Mimi. I do not know why some people would dislike the character so much. That one particular individual said killing Mimi off early would have shortened the drama. I disagreed very strongly, giving evidence that she played a rather useful throughout the drama, providing companionship for Changge. helping CG to thwart Khatun's plan to break up the alliance, providing information to Ashile Sun to help rescue CG, providing plan of the palace at DIng Xiang so CG could plan her rescue of Ashile Sun and finally even taking the arrow for CG. I also mentioned that many people here felt that she did play a useful role in the drama.
That person just responded by saying that is her opinion and nothing I say or others say will change her opinion.
They felt like being of the same age, about 22-23.
Interesting. I did not read the manhua, but I did read some other sources and kind of knew the characters' age even before I started watching. At least for Changge.
Was it their behaviour or their physical attributes made you feel that Changge and Sun were about 22-23??
I expected Mimi to die, but I also think it was kind of unfair, taking into account how much they changed her…
I think Changg did not see the arrow coming toward her, till it was too late so, Mimi had to push her away and in the process got shot.
For the last scene, I certainly do agree though. If they wanted to show why Changge need to be saved by Sun, they could have shown something really simple, like Changge was hit by a falling beam, and got her leg injured, hence needed to be saved. Or that she was still trying to save Khatun, they got into a tussle, and by the time she wanted to run out, all her pathways were blocked and Sun had to use some device to clear those pathways and got her out.
Writing CG dashing out of that burning structure would have been the simpliest. It was already toward end of the drama. We know how smart CG is. Making Sun save her without some kind of explanation does appear to be inconsistent.
In episode 9 of the rewatch and omg I am getting mad at Hao Du again, dude you place such a big importance on…
I think that is the writing strategy of the two screenwriters for TLB. Have many characters that we would dislike at the beginning, and then slowly begin to like as they changed and experienced character growth. They know what will appeal to audiences and what will not
Hopefully, he will do it. If he forgets, someone from his agency should remind him. After what they went through,…
His sister will play a huge role in convincing his parents. It will be two against two. Fair fight.
I am really suprised that Reba said she does not mind marrying someone 10 years younger. Maybe she is an Uyghur and in their culture, girls marrying younger guys is not such a taboo, as in Han Chinese culture.
Anyway, she looks young. At certain angles in TLB, she looks just like how she looked in her older photos. She will not look 'old' standing next to him. Anyway, he cannot look young forever. Sooner or later, he will shed his youthful look. And in 10 years, you cannot even tell that she is much older than him.
In terms of height, they are a good match, she being just slightly shorter than him.
One thing I know for sure. If are truly dating and this is announced, the same sort of reaction will happen when the leads for Crash Landing on You announced their courtship. People are going to back to all those interviews and say, there you are, we knew they were going to be a couple. The way they interacted during those interviews. And the way he was protective of her during one of their appearances at a shopping mall.
If they are just hiding their romantic relationship, they sure are doing a good job. I am not surprised. They are actors after all.
I mean Changge usually got shot by her shoulder and when she got shot she usually in a place where she can get…
Well, yes. She is the main character in the drama. She just cannot die by the 5th episode. And yes, indeed she is usually shot in non-vital areas. And there will always be someone close by to rescue her. That is the way it is in this sort of historical drama. She is not an immortal. But just a very very lucky mortal.
Mimi got shot in her heart. And she was not wearing any armour or anything. When Changge was shot on that wall, she was wearing very good protection against arrow shots. Very likely the best during historical times.
Even the best doctor during those times could not have saved Mimi.
That is the way the writers have written her character. Give her a sad death, to evoke sadness in viewers. Screenwriters do that all the time.
We are just glad they did not do that to Changge. Bear in mind, this same director, he killed off the female lead toward the end in another drama, and many viewers were really angry. He learned his lesson. I think he also wrote the script for that drama.
This time, screenwriters are different. They knew better than to kill off Changge.
