Li Changge's IQ and her inquisitive nature
I am at the manhua, Vol 5, chapters 26-32,
I just see what a high IQ our Changge has and her extremely inquisitve nature, always out to learn new things. The drama did not show this but chose to show other aspects, but in the manhua, when the leader from Liuyun Temple, sent her out to learn about farming, she was extremely inquisitive, asking the farmers around Liuyan Temple about farming, observing the way the rice terraces were set up to improve irrigation system.
You may ask, what has it got to do with the drama? It sure does. Remember both CG and AS retired to the grasslands and many of us were wondering, what could they do there? In the grasslands, there are many tribes, many of which are nomadic people. They do not stay at one place but move around with the weather, to find food for themselves and their animals. Because they move around so much, they usually do not do any kind of systematic large scale farming. This is one of the reasons why many of these tribes invade the Tang Dynasty. Whenever there is food shortages, they will invade the Tang villages or cities that are close to the border and raid their food supplies.
What do I see Changge doing? I see her putting her farming knowledge to good use, helping the tribes to farm their land, building irrigation system to bring water from the rivers or mountains to the rice paddies. If she is short of rice seeds, no problem. AS can just use one of his eagles to send a message to Liuyan Temple and ask the Abbess for some. Those eagles are great flyers. They may even be able to bring those seeds back to the grasslands.
When each of those tribes can farm its own land, there will be no food shortages. Good irrigation will also mean there will be water for their animals. There will be less war among the tribes. There will one less incentive for them to invade Tang. There will be peace in the grasslands and peace between the Eastern Turks and Tang.
From history, Li Si Min was never keen about invading them for their land. He merely wanted to stop the Easten Turks from constantly harrassing the Tang.
Next, I noticed the very high IQ of our dear Changge. Previously, at the grasslands when she was with AS (this is in the manhua, not in the drama), she already knew how to use bow and arrow to hunt animals. That is not surprising, as she was already very good in archery. But, on the way back after visiting those farms near to Liuyan Temple, CG hunted down a rabbit with no weapons. The manhua did not explain how, but it left us with no doubt that she did it without any weapon, because she visited the farm empty handed. Maybe she set a trap, using leaves and branches?
Costume wise, she was wearing the light blue dress with the straw hat and veil, the same one she wore when AS found her in the drama in E31. Only here, her veil was much longer. till it was only about a few inches or cm from the floor. It was lovely and made our CG looked very elegant and every inch the fine lady she is. Xia Da, our manhua author, drew her face differently as well. She was now no longer the girl who ran away from the palace. Her face more mature and feminine.
Oh, by the way, this is also the portion in the manhua when AS and Mujin first found out that CG is a girl. They were trying to search for a guy and it was no wonder they could not find 'him'. It was the old Mr Qin who told them, CG is a girl, and they were totally shocked.
In summary, our CG really does have very high IQ and was very smart and intelligent. No wonder, even at the tender age of 15, she could master archery, horse riding, war strategies, kick cuju ball, etc. In this realistic? Why not? Even today, we have young kids graduating from universities and colleges, solving math equations even adults struggled for years. Why can't a young Tang Princess with super IQ do all the things she did in the drama?
Does it help us appreciate the drama more? It sure does. It reaffirmed our belief that we are dealing with a highly intelligent girl. Age was no issue to her. Xia Da's CG could well be a freak of nature, but her character as an intelligent young girl was entirely possible and realistic.

Before TLB, I did not know either of them. At least I thought I did not. And then someone asked me to watch The Love by Hypnotic, and so I did. I then realised that Alan Fang was the main lead there. I could not even remember his face, as his acting in that drama did not leave a deep impression on me.
Yet, when I started on TLB, it is not difficult to differentiate him from LYN. There must be a reason why classoned keeps getting them mixed-up
