No no. The manhua was written first before the drama. And in the manhua, Changge has the mole. So, they did not change the script to include her mole. Instead, they chose Reba to play Changge because she has a natural mole, and because both the producer and director of TLB have the confidence that she can portray Changge well.

The mother's mole became unimportant because in the drama, they did cover Changge going to her uncle and her grandmother. In the manhua it was important, because her mother's mole was one of the ways they identified Changge as being part of their tribe.

ZLS is miles away from Fan Bingbing in terms of acting talent. Hardly even close to Dilraba. If she can choose whom she wishes to act with, it cannot be due to her acting talents.

Casting decisions are not entirely in the hands of fans, though they can certainly make their wishes known.

Producers and directors are mainly concerned whether an actor can pull a character well, according to the script. They will usually trust the professionalism of the actors and actresses to have good screen chemistry. After all, it is in everyone's interests to do so.

Once an actor is officially cast in a role, that actor will usually just put fans' opinion aside and focus on understanding the character he is supposed to play, and how he can do it well, under the guidance of the director

Definitely possible. And Fan Bingbing was very powerful at one stage. But Fang Bingbing does come across as an actress who will throw her weight around. Dilraba does not give me that feeling. This director already used so many other ways of communicating love and affection between AS&CG, and Leyan and Hao Du to all of us. I do not even think the producer and director wanted to elevate the romance theme above showing character change, values change among all the major characters in this drama.

The original manhua focused so much on Tao and path. Previously, I did not read the manhua. Now, having read quite a few chapters, I must say, romance was never the prime focus of Xia Da, when she drew her manhua. In Changge's Tao, her relationshp with AS will never rank higher than her concern for Tang.

We also saw this in the drama. She was willing to 'retire' to the grasslands with AS, only when she knew that Tang will be safe in the hands of Li Si Min.

If things are beyond Reba's control, we can only hope that whoever ends up as the ML in Legend of Anle will well with her and not let any backroom politics affect their performance. Peronally, I also prefer Xiao Zhan to Gong Jun. Not so much that Xiao Zhan is a bigger star than Gong Jun. I watched a few episodes of Word of Honour, and just did not quite like how he looks in the front of the screen. I cannot put a finger to it. Was it the way he smiled or what, I don't know.

But, all us would really wish Reba well, whoever ends up opposite her in Legend of Anle

Ok. It is sad that they would let any kind of politics or past history to affect their decision to not promote TLB. It sure does not make business sense. If TLB does well, it should add to Tencents reputation and bottom line.

If past history with Wu Lei and Reba is such a heavy burden for them, why even bother picking up TLB?

If they already pick it up, they should be professional and promote TLB. Not promoting it will just make legends of Reba and Wu Lei fans angry. I must say, they are not very wise.

Don't worry about answering this question, if you not have the info. Not very important, really. I am just puzzled about this, purely from a business standpoint.

I think she does have the acting abilities to take on western films. But in western films, they do not want actors and actresses to have their voices dubbed. They prefer them to be able to articulate well, so that the final cut is the version we will see on the screen, and not have someone do the dubbing post production.

I have seen clips of her which show she can speak English. Can she speak well enough to act in a movie, that I am not sure. If English is the only issue, Jaywalk should get someone to teach her how to speak good English. She is still young. Very young. Not very difficult to pick up good English at all. Just need to be able to read a script in English and speak it maybe with an American accent, that should do. Fan Bingbing can do a Marvel movie. I do not see why Dilraba cannot.

I think even if WL does team up with ZLS, it will be a while before the drama hits the screen. Most must be referring to "Love like the Galaxy"? I went to the page. It says historical. But we not know the time period for the setting.

If Love like the Galaxy is aired two years down the road, very different historical time period, and different genre from TLB, it should be ok. The make up and costumes will all be very different. They will look so different from the way they do in TLB, and no one here will mind too much about it

But the two are the same, right? Tecent owns the broadcasting rights to TLB and YAMG. So, why would there be CP interaction and promotion for YAMG, but nothing much for TLB? What is their rationale?? The person who was responsible for promoting TLB at Tencent did not do his/her job??
