One simple comment. If the original book is titled, Book of the Emperor. but the drama will be called The Legend…
Not sure if everyone agrees or anyone agrees, but switching from Book of the Emperor to The Legend of Anle means they are going to shift the focus from guy to girl. Either Gong Jun and Xiao Zhan will be more than glad to be the ML. By now, both those guys must have watched her in TLB. And they will not mind if she has a slightly higher profile in the drama. Just hope they do not keep staring at her and forget their lines during the filming.
I went back to re-look at this scene before responding to you. Those look, about 2-3, were very fast. The camera…
I looked twice, but still don't see. When the discussion ended, AS just walked out of the tent. He did not really look at ice again. In the midst of the conversation, there was once or twice AS did look at ice melt. But I could not read too much from those, as they were split second shots.
AS is very good with facial expressions. When he was jealous, for example when CG held up Wei Shuyu's hand, you can immediately see jealousy in his facial expression
When I signed up, I was planning to just write down a few things I wanted to say and walk away. That's why I didn't…
Not really. Here is this forum, many of us already know, we could come from very many different countries. So, in your country, Biri could well be a real name. And it is a nice one too!
For many of us, we don't really care too much. It is just a name for identification purpose, so that we can keep track of who said what.
Hope to finish by tomorrow and start discussion. I love doing stuff like that. Will certainly help us to appreciate…
I guess we do not have to finish the entire manhua before we start discussing. We can just start even with the first 5 or 10 episodes or chapters. Even with that, we should be able see differences between the drama and manhua
Many people have already rated this. And many must have given it a low rating. It is their choice. Anyway, this…
Also, very likely Leo has a no-kiss clause in his acting contract. But Leo and Reba more than made up for this via their superior acting. Their little micro gestures here and there. Their eye gazes. The meaning in their many conversations. The way they protected each other. All conveyed deep love and affection. Why some do not see chemistry and love between the two? I wonder why myself.
And the happy ending part? Yah. Some say it will only be a happy ending, if the two leads are seen in the same frame at the ending. I think they have missed out many of the prior conversations between Leo and Reba, and when each said he/she will go wherever the partner is going.
Many also do not understand that technically, toward the end, they were already married.
Marriage is a contract. In a contract, there needs to be an offer. The offer was made by Leo, in front of her mother's tablet. Reba ceremonially and verbally accepted that offer in front of that tablet. And later, she conveyed her acceptance to Leo. Anyone with a tiny bit of understanding of law of contract would understand that. Even without an iota of legal knowledge, if they had listened to the conversation in the final episode, they would have understood, these two were married.
But because they did not witness any marriage scene, they said there was no marriage between them. They want to see a scene with bride and groom all decked in red. Bowing to parents and all.
But this couple, they had no parents to bow to. They said as much, that the ceremony would have been a formality they could do without, implying that as far as they are concerned, they are married and will be together the rest of their lives.
This drama is very difficult for some people. They watched with preconceived notion of what a marriage should look like. What a happily ever scene should look like. When they do not see those scenes, that's it, this drama is done for. They said it is an open ending. Leo and Reba were never married, and they each went their separate ways in the end. Down goes the rating.
Now that MK916 is uploading the manhua for us in PDF, whose all going to read it?!? It will be fun to read it…
Hope to finish by tomorrow and start discussion. I love doing stuff like that. Will certainly help us to appreciate the drama (or maybe even the manhua more). Whichever way it goes, it will be a worthwhile exploration for us all
I cannot recall either. But, generally, his grassland outfit were all great. The most impressive is when he is…
If during my re-watch, I do come across this same outfit, I will be sure to let you know. Right now, I want to get into the manhua that you have spent so much time compiling for us

Many do not seem appreciative of the fact that this drama was filmed last year, in the midst of the pandemic. We had actor/actress, director, cameramen, etc., all working so hard to bring us this drama. Many were seen wearing masks, when they were off camera.
Many things they wanted to do, but the production crew could not, because of the pandemic.
Yet, despite all that, they brought us this wonderful gem of a drama.

Some of these other dramas, they were easier to understand. Maybe even more entertaining.
But TLB is a very complex drama. Some don't understand the ending, some don't seem to understand the nature of the chemistry between our two main leads. Some don't like it because they do not see any physical mouth-to-mouth kiss between the two leads, so they say no chemistry. Others don't like the animation used in place of live action sequences.
Lots of reasons. Can't please them all.
But for those of us who invested time in trying to understand the plot. Who appreciate good acting, and the cinematography used in the smaller fight scenes, great OSTs and BGM, this is a gem.
Came back to check ratings again .. WTF still 8.6.... C'mon... This deserves a 9.... Y isn't it rising?
Many people have already rated this. And many must have given it a low rating. It is their choice. Anyway, this is why despite many people feel that it should get a 9, it is not there.
That is part of reality. Different people have different taste. All we need is bunch of few hundreds who will give it a really rating (like 1 or 2 of out 10), 8.6 is really as high as it could go. At least for the moment.
If we want it to hit 9, will have to recruit a big group of proxy raters, all rating 10. But, that would not be honest.
May have to look beyond that.
But, you can be sure. Many people here feel that this surely deserve a 9.
Episode 49; when CG and AS walk into General Li's tent only to find Ice Melt with him; anyone else notice the…
I went back to re-look at this scene before responding to you. Those look, about 2-3, were very fast. The camera did not focus on his face for too long. No, I did not see any look of suspicion or anything like that. I think by now, AS knew that ice melt was no longer after CG's life. His facial and body language did not indicate suspicion at all or any possible threat on CG"s life.. Instead, he was more concerned about CG.
They were about to chase the remnant of the forces assembled by Khatun, so he did not want CG to go with him, to avoid getting CG into any physical danger. Likewise, General Li Jing. So CG and ice melt ended up staying in the tent.
I particularly like A'Sun outfit during the scenes at the end of E24 and the beginning of E25. Does he wear that…
I cannot recall either. But, generally, his grassland outfit were all great. The most impressive is when he is in full battle gear, with his headgear and all, like in E15, in the snow walk surrender scene.
AS is very good with facial expressions. When he was jealous, for example when CG held up Wei Shuyu's hand, you can immediately see jealousy in his facial expression
