tell me about it. I walked out to the living to seeing my sister watching a disney movie and it just so happened…
The eagles part, I can explain. AS leads the Eagles division. He was last seen holding what is very likely an eagle.

Pigeon, I can only make a guess. They are often used as a symbol of peace. And also to represent strength, determination, adaptation in order to survive, and fertility. Mabye, in Changge, they see all of these and decided to use pigeont represent her?

It is like, if AS were to be a bird, which bird would you think of? Eagle. And for Changge? Pigeon

One of the ways the screenwriters wanted to inject some humour, to lighten a heavy drama, let our brains take…
Agree. Screenwriters gave them sufficient screen time to make them look funny to us, director and actors did a good job in bringing it on screen for us

She was a 15 year old tomboy who doesn't even know what love is even a boy showed her affection like Shuyu did…
Yes, pure romantic love will come only later. And it is very much in line with the screenwriters' motive or purpose. They do not want other aspects of this drama be overwhelmed by the GeSun relationship.

There are just so many beautiful things about this drama. If strong GeSun attachment occured too early on, we will forget about all the other relationships she will develop in this drama. Or that the main focus should be on Changge's character growth.

And yes, the lack of romance between her parents would explain why this aspect of her character was lacking early on. If she had her parents were always holding hands, she would not have recoiled hers, each time AS tries to hold her hands romantically. It was still an emotion she was trying to understand, and figuring out how best to respond, since she did not have good role models. When she was finally comfortable with that emotion, she would hold his hands affectionately.

Wow, this is what I call a crazy comments section!
You call it correctly. If you hang around, you will understand why

things have slowed considerably but things seem to be picking up again yesterday/today for some reason
Same for me. I was first motivated to join MDL, midway through the drama. In fact, I signed up just to push up the rating, because at one stage, such a good drama was just pushed down by lots of haters.

The same reason motivated me to join the comments section of TLB, when I read some really ridiculous comments. For example, some said no chemistry between Changge and AS.

It made me wonder, do even know what is screen chemistry? Or, if they do, mabye they just forwarded all those GeSun scenes, and those that showed AS pinning for Changge, etc. Must screen chemistry be equated with kiss scenes? Bedroom scenes? So no mouth to mouth kisses means no romance, no chemistry?

I then realised that here in this forum, there are so many people with so much insights and our collective wisdom must have driven some of those 'no-chemistry' people away from this forum.

Like you, I also browsed through the comment pages of other dramas, often trying to get a clue as to whether I should begin watching those dramas.

Nowadays, when I go into those pages, I noticed two things. First, the number. The number of comments just a fraction of that in TLB. And secondly, the comments are just not as insightful as those found here. Some even have people 'attacking' each other. Here, when we differ, we do not take things personally. We try always to understand things from the other person's perspective, even if we may not agree with their opinions.

And there are always people trying to explain things ever so patiently to others who may not fully understand a scene here and there, giving them even more courage to ask even more questions, generating even more traffic here

TLB is truely a unique drama. And the comments section surely matches the drama in uniqueness.

Better late than never! I also recently started commenting and still find many topics to be engaging. There are…
This definitely was her story. GeSun just the icing on the cake. So many manhua readers have mentioned that there was so little romance in the manhua.

I never felt like the screenwriters wanted to elevate the GeSun relationship above Changge's growth. Toward the end, she was planning his rescue, which was fairly complicated. She was the one hosting the farewell party in E49, right after Mimi's death.

While many focused on the GeSun story, do not forget, many scenes involved her with Leyan and their sisterly relationship was also very sweet. There also that very emotional scene involving her and Li Simin toward the end, that showed she finally forgave him and was ready to move on.

First scene of the drama started with her, last scene ended with her. Last spoken sentences in the drama ended with her dream and vision for Tang.

The Chinese title of this drama said it better than the English version. This Le Changge's journey.

I still haven’t moved on so I refuse to watch anything else lol
I do watch another drama. One particular one. Not because it is good or better than TLB. Because there is nothing good out there, and I was just trying to kill time. Even the one I am watching, no match for TLB. Shallow plot. Plot line being used so many times in other dramas. Acting wise, different level from those in LTB.

Why do I think that Wa Er has a bigger chance to marry BaBa because of their similar Uyghur background? LoL please…
Wa Er is Kudousi Jiang Ainiwaer, actor who played Ashile Sheer in the drama. Not a dumb question at all. Not many of us know. Need to google.

OMG, the doll is adorable and I want one too! I love her dress, the hair and the overall look - very Audrey Hepburn…
Yes, it was an award. Another photo of her in the same dress, she was holding a trophy of some sort.

Maybe even parrots?
No, No physical pigeons in the drama. But figuratively pigeons were used to symbolise Changge. I saw this in many twits

Anyone else find the elf king of Mobei and King of Monan acting like teenagers around each other? Always fighting…
One of the ways the screenwriters wanted to inject some humour, to lighten a heavy drama, let our brains take a little rest now and then.

Plot holes and some implausible moments notwithstanding, I am enjoying this more than I thought I would. Love…
Plot holes are everywhere in CDramaland. The longer the series, more you will see. Statistically, more chances for screenwriters to make mistakes. Implausible moments, there are. Yet, much less than those investigative dramas.

As a package, this is hard to match. The depth of the plot, and complexities of the characters in this drama. OSTs, BGM, cinematography, acting. After this, many of us could not watch another drama. Especially those who watched this mulitple times.

Dilireba (cangge) said herself that cangge feelings for asun is up and down just like rollercoaster actually cangge…
That is how her character was written in the drama. She was a tomboy who would be fearless in battles. She has no problem confronting guys much bigger than her.

But, in romance, she would be a novice. And this is consistent. A tomboy who cares about things boys cared about. She did not understand many of his romantic overtures toward her.

But, this aspect of her character will grow. At the Taoist temple or sanctuary. There, she had more time to think and reflect. The feminine aspect of her will catch up with her tomboy nature. The screenwriters love to use many clues to show us that change. The strongest is when she wrote his name multiple times on those papers, papers he didn't notice. Later, in episode 31, we see the loving way she gazed at him during the running scence. Their love would often be written in motion, rather than spoken words.
