To be honest I like the second lead couple more than the lead couple
It is ok. Here in this community, although many more people prefer the first lead couple, like you, there are also those who prefer the second lead couple more.

We don't hate anybody here. This place is big enough to accomodate all kinds of people.

Most important, you enjoy TLB, learn many important lessons from this drama and are happier as a result of watching it.

Honestly, The Long Ballad is a really good drama, but for some people it’s not as good because they don’t…
Yah. Sad, but most viewers really do not want to think. Just want everything to be explained in front of the screen, so they can sit back and relax. But those who are willing to think just a tiny bit, they enjoyed the drama more and are happier.

Show had ended. He is moving on to his next project. Understandable. Not to worry. We will continue to hang around here and reminise our favourite episodes, scenes from TLB. Until the next drama that touches our hearts the way TLB did

From my understanding Ashile sun is suppose to be dead , so he’s suppose to lay low and not be involve in all…
Yes, so long as Changge was not in any imminent danger, Sun will just lie low

Like what FairyDustpuppy said, beautiful actress, inside out. We will only know what we missed, the day she stepped…
I share what both you and Kayla said.

First of all, I watched one drama that Hani Kezi acted. She has potential, but hardly a threat to Dilraba at this moment. Kezi is only 25. Dilraba 28. Maybe she can catch up with Dilraba. Maybe not.

But all of the off-screen interviews that Dilraba did, she comes across as a rather humble person. She does not talk with a chip on her shoulder. And she has been rather scandal-free, meaning she is extremely careful about she says and how she behaves.

This does not mean she is hate-free. A beautiful and talented individual like her, many see her as a threat to their careers. Showbiz can be a dirty business, and we know how vicious fans of her competitors can be.

Her interviews also revealed that she is not about to get married anytime soon, not that there is a shortage of suitors. She is like a protege of Yang Mi. Likely to be rather attached to work, and, after seeing what happened to Yang Mi and her marriage, Dilraba will not rush into marriage only to regret later.

Which is great for us!! Likely to see her in Cdramaland for at least the next 3-4 years, if not more. Bad news for her competitors, tho

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
Episode 43, middle portion, as Changge walked away from Shuyu, after Shuyu asked her not to trust people too easily.

She said something to this effect, in typical Changge style:
"I know Ashile Sun and I know Mimi. They are friends. We have gone through thick and thin. I know that I can trust them. If there is a price for my trust, I am willing to pay"

Changge's final statement is particularly reflective of her attitude towards life at this point in time. It shows that she knows she is still a work in progress. At this stage, she must be about 18-19 year's old (assuming she was 15 in episode 1).

She is not done learning about trust. She may yet be betrayed. But she is willing to pay the price in her learning journey.

Trusting others would become part of her key character traits. It would form the bedrock of her relationship with Ahsun. And because Ahsun also trusts her, it would also be the key principle upon which he will interact with her.

I think this is why many of you said, theirs is a mature relationship of mutual trust.

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
Ok, please help me to understand why Sun showed up for a brief scene in episode 43 at the beginning when Changge…
It is as MooBerry explained. That person was actually aiming his sword at Mimi and not Changge. The words that he spoke, when he drew his sword, indicated that he wanted to kill Mimi and not Changge.

By now Changge's sword fighting skill is quite good (after being trained by her Sifu). A single person who aimed a sword at her openly, she could have easily avoided his sword and kicked him.

If the sword was aimed at Mimi and Changge is Mimi's good friend, so, why did't Changge kick that guy, in order to protect Mimi? Here is a simple explanation. That sword is still a distance away from Mimi. If it went a bit closer, Changge would surely have defended Mimi. But before she could do it, Sheer turned up.

Before this, Sheer had seen Mimi dropped that bottle that contained the poison. At this point, he did not know that all this was part of the Khatun's plan, to kill one of the dignatories, put the blame on Changge and destroy Changge's plan to form the alliance.

But Sheer did know that Mimi is a very kind person who would not have done such a terrible thing as poisoning someone. And he liked Mimi. So, he stepped forward, grabbed hold of the other man's sword, kicked him, and took the blame that the bottle was his, and he prepared the poison with the intention to kill mice and insects.

Sheer's explanation is also not true. The bottle and poison do not belong to him. This is just his scheme with Wei Shuyu, that Sheer will first take the blame, to buy time for Shuyu find out who is the real mastermind

The rest of the story will slowly unfold

This portion of the plot is a bit complicated. I had to watch 2-3 times, before I understood the plot

I mean literally ASun went from splashing wine onto Changge’s injured shoulder to getting so freaken worried…
If you have been watching Asian dramas for more than 15 years, and you found that TLB grabbed your attention like no others, that makes your comment regarding TLB very credible. You were not making some baseless remarks, based on watching just one or two dramas. 15 years a long long time. You must have watched lots of Asian dramas

The scene were Sun wanted to go with Changge to the temple, and Changge told him no because it’s not ideal since…
Raba is a good actress. She was just not given roles to showcase the broad range of her acting talent. Until TLB.

Happy ending. Worth the watch. But this is the kind of drama that needs total immersion on your part. You need…
I think you are referring to instances of poor editing? Where scenes are cut, making the whole drama very disjointed and jumpy, viewers cannot make head or tail of what is happening, and cannot understand the flow of the story.

Don't worry. Very very little of that is here. The story flows very smoothly, as long as you pay attention and do not get distracted. One episdoe leads to the next seamlessly, in good story telling.

The acting by the actors/actresses are very detailed. They conveyed everything very well. You will know exactly what is happening, and why they are happening.

Watching this drama, you will not feel tired. After each episode, you will want to watch the next and the next, because the entire drama is very well crafted.

So this was an ad? A full 5 minute ad? Always thought it was part of a drama or movie.
I think I was wrong. Never thought an ad could be 5 mins long. Guess I don't know the Chinese market all that well or how rich face mask makers in China are, that they have enough money to place 5 mins ads.

It did happen for another drama. The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion. Same couple, another universe. Lovely portrayal of ML's and FL's roles in another world, another universe

Leaving comment here again on how I'm watching this drama for Dilireba, end up falling for Wu Lei and now maybe…
Came for Raba, not because of anything, but because this drama is about her journey. Did she come across as the fearless, intelligent, kickass girl in the manhua? Certainly.

No comment on comparing between the drama and the manhua romance wise, because, I did not read the manhua and some of you said there are even less romance in the manhua compared to the drama.

But, just taking the drama on its own, Wu Lei and Raba nailed their romantic scenes.

And all the other characters. They were really well portrayed. Relationships between Leyan and Hao Du, between Leyan and Changge, between Mujin and Mimi, etc. And the plot line, the OST, the countless iconic scenes, the BGM, the choreography for all the fight scenes. Down to all the beautiful costumes used. Who will forget Wu Lei in his Ashile battle gear, or Reba in her beautiful Mopei princess costume? They would have dressed Leyan more beautifully too! But she was the second FL, and it is just not appropriate for her to be more beautifully adorned than Changge.

In the end, I fell for the drama as a whole. The wholesome values the director was trying to convey like forgiveness, putting the common good ahead of self-interests, the Tang Dynasty is more important than my silly revenge, love does not have to be possessive or suffocating. It can be liberating. The list can go on. But you catch my drift

Agree! It is a form of on screen chemistry too. Due to the big amount of screen time given to their interactions,…
Wow! Love the way you expressed it.

Using "Hot Girl" and "Tom of the sea" clips ! Amazing!
Combining scenes from two dramas is not all the difficult. Lots of software can do that. But, it is the care that goes into picking the right scenes that takes time and skill. So really appreciate video like this
