I love love love TLB! Leo Wu really fit as Ah Sun and Reba as Chengge... Their chemistry was all good dyem! Likewise,…
You have come to the right colony. Lots of us here love both couples. Not just their chemistry, though that is really through the roof. But also the character growth and development of the main leads. TLB is rather unique. Another drama like this will indeed be hard to find. Just have to learn to make do with whatever Cdramaland can offer

yes someone is having some very naughty thoughts ;)
If you were to re-watch many of their scenes together, you will see this behaviour from Changge, each time Ashile Sun held her hands. She will recoil hers.

Not sure if this what happened in the manhua, that Changge was always shy toward Ahsun romantically. Or, it was just the director, reminding Dilraba to behave as how a shy 15 year old girl should behave romantically.

Anyway, I thought it makes their interaction together kind of cute

A character I would compare/similar to A’sun is the main male character Xiao Qi from Rebel Princess but I stopped…
I also stopped watching Rebel Princess, after about 20 episodes. Zhang Ziyi is a bigger star than Dilraba or Lusi. And the male lead acted really well. He really looked the part. Very macho.

But plot wise, it just could not hold me, the same way TLB did.

General and I.She's a strategist, he's a General. She beats him, the first time they meet too hahaShe does a Chang…
I did not finish the General and I. Someone said Angelababy is a bad actress. And, after the first episode, I could understand why and dropped it. I hope I do not make any of her fans here angry

But Ah'sun is truly a unique character. I am not referring to Wu Lei. I am referring to the character Ahsun in TLB. I think that is what is fascinating to CeCe, his character. Perhaps I am wrong.

Was the male lead character in the General and I as protective of the female lead, as Ahsun was of CG? And equal partner, mutual respect, mutual trust?? Just curious

if im not mistake the actress that plays the princess is also under jaywalk
Yup. Same studio. Whenever some of their big stars get a contract, he or she will pull someone from Jaywalk along. That is something very commendable about Jaywalk.

Yang Mi also pulled Dilraba and Vengo along, in TMOPB

Almost as if they negotiate the acting contract as a team.

LHK def has the height. I think he and Ice melt are the same height. Though they didn't have any direct scenes…
I am not surprised. All his scenes with Leyan, I had pity on her. The height difference must have given Lusi lots of neck pain, each time she had to look up to him

I think, a lot of the fascination with TU, was that many, MANY wanted to see how far China would go with this…
Thanks for your explanation. I did watch TU. It was not a bad drama by any stroke of imagination. Very entertaining. The two male leads certainly acted well. It is perhaps a pioneer drama in bromance, the same way TMOPB was a pioneer in the Xianxia genre.

But I learned many more life lessons through TLB than I did watching TU

Still, one wonders. How come the comments section in TLB became more powerful or more potent than the one in TU? The comments section in TU had a two year headstart, yet was no match for what is happening here. Were we just dead bent on beating them, no matter what?

Or, is it because we belong to the international audience? We were charmed by the two big female stars in TLB? I notice, TU did not have a big female star. In terms of star power, the actresses in UT are no match for Dilraba and Zhao Lusi

It is amazing how this comments section is still on fire, even though the drama has ended a week ago. TLB has lower ratings than the Untamed. Less viewers. But this comments section has beaten the one in Untamed in MDL hands down. This is something really fascinating.

Didn't they have a direct scene together? I mean LHK and ice melt. At Liuyuin Quan. Hao Du was trying to pursue Changge and LHK was obstructing him. They spoke for sometime.

Yes, they both are. The director took great pain to make sure Dilraba portrayed how a 15-16 girl with no experience of love or romance will act (not a 28 year old), one who have never once seen her father looked at her mother affectionately. The tree trunk scene was one.

The other one was when they had their first date in the middle of the night. He held her hand for the first time. She pulled it back, because that is how a shy young girl of that age would react. I remember seeing the BTS and Dilraba kept asking "Did I do it right? Sufficient shyness?"

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
I wish I could forget the whole drama, so I could watch it again. They gave every single character so much depth.…
Beautifully summarised. I suspect there are many iconic scenes that will make it difficult for you to forget this drama. Some of the OSTs and lovely background music may well visit you in your dreams. And one thing for sure, you have many companions in your deep appreciation of this drama

I created my MDL account just for this drama and I don't regret it. I loved reading everyone's comments and watching…
Lovely descriptions. Lovely video. They provided an alternative vision of love in Cdramaland (or any dramaland). Healthy, mature, non-possessive, mutual respect, equal partners. He was drawn to her by her essential character, rather than her physical attributes. He saw in her a reflection of himself; and she saw in him, a reflection of herself. They connect at so many levels. It will be a love that will last a lifetime.

Zhenzhu : Sun bro, I'm a girl, I can - Sun: (instantly tears Changge's sleeves)...Zhenzhu : (speechless)
Big change from episode 5, when he first found out Changge was a girl. He subsequently had to blindfold himself before dressing up her wound. If we put the two scenes side by side, we can clearly see how the change in the nature of relationship is reflected in the change in behaviour toward each other.

Previously, "You are a girl I found at the river. Not right to see what I shouldn't see." And Changge slapped him, when she opened her eyes. "Pervert!"

Now, she is her woman, "You're my woman. I can see anything I want." And she tapped him with her little finger. "Thank you dear"

Then that sweet forehead kiss.

Little Zhenzhu just stood there. The little lampost who didn't quite fully understand what older people do, when they are in love. They kiss. Without that no-kiss clause in his contract, as per ELOD, the director would surely have asked them do it mouth-to-mouth. Now, it is just a sweet and tender forehead kiss.

Why do they dub the actors voices? Just curious
Yes, by and large, all the dubbers for TLB did a wonderful job. I sometimes watch the actors/actresses mouth movement, to see if they are in sync with the voice. Generally, all in sync, and sound quality and everything, all very good. What's more, they did it very efficiently. From last day of filming to first day TLB was shown, practically less than a year. Must be somewhat of a record

Why do they dub the actors voices? Just curious
Very true. Top actors and actresses usually super busy. When they finish one project, they are on to the next. Or sometimes, when the post production team reflect on the filming, they thought a different phrase might be more apprpriate. Like when Hao Do first found Leyan. Many of you pointed out, he called her Leyan. But it was dubbed as Princess, when broadcast. Given their status at that point, they were not in love then, dubbing it as Princess was definitely more appropriate, for Hao Du to accord her her rightful status as a Princess.
