What a fantastic drama. I’m still listening to the OST on repeat to relive those moments. Great storytelling,…
Many of us here share your sentiments. Many portions of this drama will live deep in our memory. Don't worry about withdrawal symptoms. Whenever you feel like it, just watch it, and feel blessed all over again. If not the entire drama, at least all those scenes that touched you most
Can we just post only comments on TLB and not talk about other new drama here. It spoils the mood here and disrespect…
I do agree with this comment very very much. Talking about their other up and coming projects also tends to make us lose focus. Other people who come here, looking to find out more about TLB maybe distracted
I think any post here should be related to TLB, what made it so good, all the great acting by the cast, so that others who have yet to watch may be blessed by it. Detailed chattering on their other projects should be done in those other pages.
He filmed costume Heroes, for which I can't wait, cause he will look fantastic there https://twitter.com/ccyymamaaini/status/1391943692647239680
So sorry, but I am not a fan of LYN. Too many actors/actresses out there. No time to follow everyone. But there is the link to Zi Chuan: https://kisskh.at/30908-zi-chuan
I am just obsessing over our GeSun again so I am reliving this clip! Anyone notice Leo wetting his lips before…
I am just curious. Why did he do that? Don't want his lips to get stuck to her forehead after the kiss? This was filmed during the pandemic. His saliva still on her forehead. Wonder if she has to wash her forehead with sanitizer after this shoot
This is a very nice community of drama fans. I have to say it's been very positive and no mud slinging from anyone…
I concur. Very little mud here. Mudslingers either usher themselves out nicely, or be told to get out (diplomatically of course). But there are lots of haters out there. That's why the rating is so low for this wonderful drama
the ending might be the type of ending that not everyone would like and might become kinda confusing but it's…
Yup. There are many 'surface' viewers out there. They want to sit back and be spoonfed. They want a visual of them together in the final scene, but forgot all of the conversations prior, when Changge said wherever Ahsun go, I will go, and Ahsun said I will go wherever Changge go. Some viewers even asked, so where did they go? These viewers don't even look at the background scenary for the final shot! They were clearly in the grasslands and not Chang'An.
They are looking for one of those Disney-like ending, with someone narrating, "And they lived happily ever after, in the grasslands."
For those of us who can connect the dots, this is a sublime ending. It makes TLB unique in Cdramaland
As someone who read the manhua and really wanted to see A'Sun and Changge together, I'm glad to see how the live…
As a viewer who did not read the manhua, I am glad to know from a manhua reader, that the live adaption provided closure. The drama must be very satisfying to you.
So sad that this live adaption did not live up to the expectations of some manhua readers. That they still preferred the manhua to the drama. They don't know what they have missed
Bless you. You belong the category of high immersive viewers who do not see need to see them in the same frame, to know that this is a happy ending, with A'sun and Changge together the rest of their manhua lives
She is simply stunning I have always felt that way about her. But I don't really care for gorgeous faces that…
It seems Chinese actresses have to go through some kind of rite of passage. Usually start with rom-com roles, before moving on to more serious roles. There are exceptions, of course. Those picked by Zhang Yimou, for instance, get to star in serious movies even in their early 20s. He's good, for sure. But not all actreses that he chose went on to become megastar.
Reba was given and had to take some of these roles (like those in Pretty Li Hui Zen or even ELOD). These are simpler roles to act. It is not difficult for pretty girls to act cute. Lusi and others (Li Qin, etc), have to go through this same rite of passage: first show me you can act cute, and then we'll get you something serious.
Reba was fortunate enough, or destiny has it, that she worked with the director for ELOD, and he was totally convinced that she is not just a pretty face, but she can act. He is Reba's Zhang Yimou.
So, when the producer for TLB was dead set on using Reba for Li Changge, he must have raised his hand in support. And after TLB, he pulled her along for The Blue Whisper.
Please do not get me wrong. I am not a racist. And it is not a question of whether Reba is a Han Chinese or not a Han Chinese. It is just her face. It does not look adequately Han Chinese, so when she's in historical dramas, some find it a bit jarring. I did too!
When I first saw her in Flame's Daughter, I thought, wow, a 'foreign' actress managed to land a leading role in an historical CDrama. It might have to do with her high-bridged nose. It makes her look beautiful. Unfortunately, it also makes her look less Han Chinese.
After I googled her and found her ethnic background and read up on the Ugyhur history, I began to understand where she got that exotic look from.
For me, Reba's exotic non or less -Han Chinese look requires just a simple solution. Get better hairstylist, costume designer or make up artist to make her look more Han Chinese. Looks can be easily changed or manipulated. But acting skills cannot. And Reba can act.
In ELOD, she looked sufficiently Han Chinese. It was not jarring. In some other historical dramas, I cannot remember which, she did look a bit out of place.
I agree with you. 5000 years of history. But looks are hard to change. It's in the genes. Unless there is inter-ethnic marriages. If Reba marries another Uyghur, their children will continue to look somewhat less Chinese, because Reba carries such a high degree of non Han Chinese looking gene. If I were to wager a bet, she is more likely to marry a Han Chinese.
Either an A list Han Chinese actor who is wiling to let her continue her acting career, or some super rich Han Chinese businessman who wants to keep her at home so that only he gets to admire her beauty. Or she could marry an ordinary guy who truly loves her. She's sufficiently rich herself, so won't need his money.
TLB changed our perception of her. Very few have doubted her beauty. Only those with eye problem, perhaps. After TLB, no one should question her acting talents.
We are so blessed. As one of you keep reminding us, sorry I forgot your nickname, an actress who is beautiful inside out. And an actress who can truly act!

The saw the lip movement. Not sure of his intention or why he was doing it. I paid more attention to the final seconds after the kiss, both turned to look at the cameraman, as if to ask him, did we do it right??
Yup. No words were spoken (typical Ashile Sun style). But his gaze at her tells you, exactly what the third wish…
I do think, tho, that if the author were to continue the manhua, I doubt she will want to concentrate too much on baby making. It will be rather out of character for Changge. It might turn her into an ordinary mum.
The author would rather write about her next adventure, with Ashile Sun of course. The grassland is huge. There are so many tribes and clans. Maybe they will go around the tribes and help them to have peace with each other.
If you notice the final episode, when she was narrating?? She was very happy that Li Simin made sure that ordinary folks had food to eat. The Tang Dynasty became very properous. I think history said the same things about the Tang Dynasty.
Changge will probably want to use her intelligence and experience to broker peace deals among the tribes. Introduce agriculture and farming to them, so that they need not be nomadic.

Yes, in that conversation with Mujin, he seems to believe that action speaks louder than words.
I am not sure she got the hint. But I am sure, if she does not get the hint the first time around, he will hint again and again, until she is very sure of his intention.
But then, we must remember. He promised to give her freedom. Surely, it includes the freedom to choose? So, he will only want her to be a mum, when she feels she is ready. He will not force it on her. He has far too much respect for her to do that
All hail Princess Raba! My biggest love of all time :'3
Turkey is a no brainer, given her looks. Give her the right hairstyle and dress, and she can pass off as a Turkish lady without any problem. That green dress with a veil she wore in the grassland? That look very Turkish

So sorry for this long entry
