Thanks! I saw this when you posted about the TBW issue yesterday. She looks the part and so gorgeous. They have…
Just realised that there are lots and lots of legal dramas coming out of S Korea!! But not many legal Cdramas at all! So, there is great potential to develop this genre in China. They just need better script; better actors/actresses to embrace this genre.
They keep making countless of all those rom-coms, catered for younger viewers, maybe those in their 20s. Missing out on the older segment, viewers from mid-30s onwards. May have to do with the fact that the younger group are single, hence have more time to watch dramas. Older women are married, spending more time taking care of kids. But, still, no harm churning out one or two legal dramas a year. The population is so large. Bound to have enough people who will want to watch legal dramas, as long as the script is good, acting is good.
I suspect lots of modern drama genres are under-developed in China. Great market for Reba to keep exploring.
off topic maybe, sorry. But how do you change to higher quality like 1080p or higher on Youku. I became just a…
Yes, only viewers in China who watch on Youku's app will count toward viewership. We need not worry. Reba and Allen have millions of fans in China. They will drive the views into the billions. Only question, how many billions.
I think Youku is marketing TBW regionally as well. There is a film exhibition in Hong Kong and TBW is one drama promoted by Youku. Later on, Youku might try to tally foreign view count of TBW.
We do not know with 100% certainty. But, judging from past experience with another drama that used the two part strategy to get around episode restrictions, the gap between ending of Part 1 and beginning of Part 2 should be no more than 2 weeks.
I didn't think the comedy addition to a drama would be that bad even if it was based on a sad story...this drama…
Agree. Some comedic moments here and there will just make the drama more entertaining. I do not think the director will overdo the humourous moments. Will just be a few seconds here and there, at the right time in the drama.
The COVID dance, and the crown prince in TLB. They provided some humourous moments that helped to 'soften' an otherwise heavy drama.
With Reba, it is difficult not to inject some humour. Cuteness is just part of her. Allen is a really serious guy. Even in Under the Power, it was Seven Tan who injected some humour. Here in TBW, it will be the same. He will just go with the flow, when Reba and HYX take turn to inject some humour into the drama.

Yes, those who squeezed her do not look like actor/actress at all. But still, she being the FL, they ought to have treated her with greater respect. She is so skinny between the two bigger bodied individuals, and out of respect, she did not ask for more space but merely turned sideway, just to stay in frame. If it was unintenational, those two really ought to apologise to her, after they watched that video.
I think it was the same with CC. Based on some real cases in China. They merely added some stuff to dramatise it, and acted it out really well. With one of the screenwriters from CC as the main screenwriter of PE, I think they will adopt the same strategy. Will be essentially based on some real cases in China, but they will add stuff and make it more of a drama than a documentary. Even though these are real cases in China, very likely, lots of details will not be known to the public. This is where the screenwriters can take liberty to add stuff. Since this is a CCTV project, they must have spoken to the Chinese police and the latter does not mind. The viewing public will know that this is a drama and know that not everything portrayed is factual.
The acting will make all the difference. Being a professional actress, Reba will certainly be more entertaining and engaging than real lawyers. Likewise for all the rest of the cast.
Haha, not for me, as I did not read the novel. I do notice, no more tail in the trailer today. So, he lost his…
Even for 2-3 episodes, since he is the ML, it does need good CGI. I remember, in Novoland Pearl Eclipse, the CGI for those mermaids was very well done. Their fish tail looked very realistic. And they were not even the main characters, did not appear in that many episodes or given much screen time. Yet, the post production people did ensure that good CGI was used to create those tails.
Yah, I do recall, one of the goals was to change his tail to human legs.
