And some of those trailers have been there for a long long time. So, the 500 m plus views are not views from the first day.

The story is already one of a kind. There is still romance, like all of her previous historical dramas, but this involves cross species, which is totally unique in Cdramas. Also, it more common to have stories that revolve around a man falling in love with a mermaid. This time, it is a female falling in love with a merman.

Those are just the major plot points. I think as we watch this, we will realise that this is totally unlike any role that Dilraba has played in the past, in a Xianxia drama. She will be totally unlike Baifenjiu, in ELOD or TMOPB. And the male character will also be totally different, from her past male lead characters.

Yes, that is our expectation, given our past experience with this director. For TLB, both the screenwriters and this director changed some of the stuff. But the core/main characters remained essentially the same. Major plot remained the same, even if minor ones were altered.

That is for an uncompleted work, as the source material was stuck. Here, the source material is complete. All the more, the screenwriter and director have no reason to change the major plot.

Wonderful! Words will get around, after the latest trailers. I think the first trailer, released last Oct, was below expectations, hence, failed to create the hype. But these latest 3 are totally cool. Words will get around. These are just reservations. Many more millions will be watching in China.

Totally agree with you. The chemistry is just great!! They way they looked at each other. Their joy while shopping, watching the fireworks. We can feel it, just by looking at the trailers. Great chemistry!

It is not difficult to watch, when we know that good will eventually triump over evil. And momentary sorrow will be replaced by lasting happiness.

Hours and hours of dark drama will not be good for our brains and our hearts. Indeed, we do need some humour to prevent us from over-heating, to let us unwind mentally and emotionally, at the right moments. We can trust this director; and the post production people. The amount of humour will be just right.

Indeed!! So, we know what they have been doing since last Oct. Apart from working on the OSTs, etc. they have been spending lots of time improving the CGI. If the trailers are good enough to impress us, the actual drama will be even better. All the fight scenes will be great looking. Those are pivotal. They cannot look cartoonish, and the latest trailers showed us just how good and impressive the CGI is. It should exceed the expectations of all the mainland Chinese viewers.
