From what I know about CC, Lay's role was minimal. He was more like a guest star. CC has a number of very experienced actors that are well known in China but not to us international viewers. I think they carried the show, not Lay. But his presence as a guest star likely helped increase visibility and publicity for CC. This is just my guess, as I did not watch CC. Too much violence for me.

Yes, I fully agree with you. Reba has proper training. No reason why she cannot handle the role. However, if she does get it, being a prosecutor will be new ground for her. She will likely need more guidance from the director. I am not sure about cdramas, but Hong Kong and Korea do produce quite a few legal dramas. She can watch some of those to shorten her learning curve. For all we know, she could have already accepted the role and is currently reading the script, familiarizing herself with the role, and doing all the prep work for it.

For us, it will fun to see her do something really different. Love to her facial expressions and other body language as a prosecutor.

I can think of a very good reason why she and her team have been keeping quiet, even if she has been offered the role and has accepted it. If you look at the three ladies above and check on their resume, you will notice that they are all Reba's senior. And they have far more experience in acting 'serious' type of modern dramas, rather than the rom-com variety that Reba is often associated with.

If she landed the FL role over these other ladies, it shows that the producer and director have immense faith in her acting ablities, despite her lack of experience in playing a serious role like a prosecutor.

This could be why Reba's team have kept quiet. They may want to announce it right on the day of filming, so that all her anti-fans in China will have no opportunitity to gossip or protest against her landing the role.

Of course, there is that other possibility, that the job has gone to another actress.

It would indeed be interesting. Let's see what happens in the days ahead. We should get our answers pretty soon.

Yes, I just read an online article from a publication called Oriental Daily (a HK press, I think), which also claimed that Reba will be the main FL, and the three other actresses whose names and photos appear above, will be 2nd, 3rd, 4h FL. If she does land this role, it will be a major coup for her. It will take her career into unchartered territory. If she does well, her already sky high popularity will go up even more.

The only thing is, there is no official confirmation. It is well possible that she and her team managed to keep everyting top secret, till booting ceremony. But, it is also possible that the FL role has gone to another Chinese actress.

Yeah. Just wait. We will know soon enough. I just saw the newly released music video of Royal Feast. It looks really nice! It does remind me of The Story of Yanxi Palace. Beautiful costumes and big production set. This looks like a big budget production.

Yes, these days, just too many rumours floating around. We will believe it, only when we see it. If you are not tempted by Autumn Ballad, it is ok. Imperial Cuisine (also known as Royal Feast), will be out by tomorrow night, Beijing time.

Better be so, after taking so much time. All our expectations are now raised; lots of viewers will be very unhappy, if they give us inferior product despite taking so much time.

Even if available in Vicki, it would usually be indicated on the MDL page, under the "Where to watch section". Strangely, there is not even such a section on that page. Did they show this exclusively on TV in China? Not in any of the streaming platforms?

We need to be really patient. The filming of TBW only took about 4 months. If this is aired in April, it means post production took nearly 10 months! More than twice as long. A bit hard to believe, but it is what it is. Just wait.

Definitely. And get something bigger, so that when her parents and relatives come visiting, they do not need to stay in a hotel. And, get a maid, to free up her time to do more commercials and read scripts.

Same thing that I read. Just staying in hotels. She should have bought something long ago, the moment she could afford it. Would have gone up by a lot. But, as they say, better late than never. But, maybe now, she can afford something much better, with more resources? I am sure she is pretty rich, by now.

I think the FL flying out to start filming is just a rumour. Nothing official, so far.

Yes, I am glad she does not see Dilraba as a threat, but a pal, a friend or even as a colleague who works in the same company (even though we know that Yang Mi is one of the owners of Jaywalk, and so technically, one of her bosses).
