No question that he looks good. And is famous, so it will definitely bring in some traffic. But, if investors truly want to maximise their profits, they will look for someone who is both good looking and can act. China is so big. Hard to imagine they cannot find people like that.

Lay needs to keep improving. If he does, over the long term, he can still make it. Just afraid, in the mean time, all the dramas with him as the lead will suffer.

Good training is particularly important for historical dramas. So many gestures to learn.

He definitely has made it as singer/dancer. Acting is still beyond his reach. Not sure how many dramas he will ruin. As long as producers and directors are willing to cast him, he will act. I doubt he cares about reviews of his acting performance.

I think this drama is supposed to be filmed in Chengdu. If Reba has taken a flight there, perhaps it is to start filming? But, this flight, it is just a rumour. Filming will be confirmed, if we see the booting ceremony.

Agree with you that there isn't any strong drama starting this week, nor is there a big winner out there. The Autumn Ballad and Royal Feast are good dramas, but very different genres. As we have all guessed, it must be the CGI that is delaying the broadcast. The Chinese New Year likely caused some work delay, but the CGI must be extremely challenging and they are likely still struggling with it.

The para-Winter Games has its opening ceremony tonight and the games will go on till 13 March. Don't think that is a factor, as less people in China are likely to watch that.

So CGI is still the game-changer. As soon as they finish that, we should get to see TBW. Could be anything from late March to early April.

Going to difficult to get gritty realism from someone who did not attend any drama school. Lay's facial expressions are rather bland. Shows that when he was with that Korean singing group, his company did not train him as an actor, more as a singer and dancer.

Liu Ye, on the other hand, is an award winning actor.

Yes, for Reba, this being her first drama in a serious role, the ML must be cast right. If the ML is good, has lots of experience, it will be a big help to her. She can learn from him. If the ML is like Lay, this drama will be in for a rough ride.

Maybe that is why there has been no official announcement. They still could not confirm a good and competent ML.

He transited from being a singer. Was never formally trained as an actor. Most who are like him, they all have that bland expression, due to lack of training. Producers who cast him are hoping that all his music fans will flock to his dramas in droves. They don't, unless his acting improves.

Ah! I mis-read your post completely!! So sorry about that. I watched Lay in a couple of episodes of Challenges at Midlife. Don't think he is a good actor at all. If Reba gets paired with him and the drama bombed, it is going to ruin her good reputation.

I think Liu Ye is a better option. I am not sure if Reba has a say in who gets to be the ML. She may quietly voice her opinion, but ultimate decision still lies in the hands of the producer and director.

We are already into early March, yet there is still no official announcement. And Reba is busy with other stuff. Does not look like filming will start anytime soon. Acting as Qiao Jingjing truly was a piece of cake for her. But this role, if it is really hers, she may really need more time to prepare. Failure will not ruin her career, but a big success in a serious role could be big deal. May land her in lead roles in 'serious' Chinese movies.

I think lots of us share your sentiments. Even though she is only playing a support role, if she has enough screen time, she will still have the opportunity to show her acting abilities. That will attract attention of directors and get her more lead roles in future, cause she is a very good actress. I think she and Reba will act well together in TBW.

Multiple sources I came across suggested that they could air this in March. These are unconfirmed dates, so, at best, just rumour. We just keep watching other dramas, even as we wait for release of confirmed official airing date.

The lack of promotional contents means that even if it is indeed March, it will likely be late March, which isn't all that different from April.

If she has been offered the FL role and accepted it, something must be keeping the producer and Reba's team from making an official announcement regarding all other details, the most important of which is the ML. I think this will remain essentially a legal/investigative drama. Like you said, it may just be two of them harbouring some romantic feelings; or even expressing those feelings. But, they will never change the main focus of this drama, or else there will be no career progression for Reba.

If we are anxious about her next project, just imagine what millions of her fans in China must be feeling right now.

I am not a beauty police. I am citing you ratings of beautiful women and expert's opinion, to make the point what others think of Dilraba. So, I am not sure who is the who cannot accept the fact that Dilraba is beautiful and who needs help.

Maybe it is from the same online article that I read? Or it is from another source? Never mind. Let's hope they make some official announcement soon, to clear things up. Not sure why they are allowing this to drag on and on. Perhaps they are still struggling to get a confirmed ML, while Reba and Zhang Yixing are already confirmed?

Where is your basis for saying all these other actresses are more beautiful than Dilrabra? What criteria did you use to form your opinion, however subjective it is? These actresses have bigger eyes? More symmetrical face? You have provided no basis. None whatsoever.
