I think the CGI for TBW could be difficult and they are still working on perfecting it and not quite sure when they are satisfied with it. I think they are deliberately making her character gentler, compared to Wei Yinglou in Yanxi Palace. I totally agree with you! I checked the resume of all the three actresses. Although they have more experience than Reba, they are not top tier actresses. In terms of popularity, they are no match for Reba. Reba should be given the chance to prove herself in a serious drama, and doing a legal/investigative type of drama is a great way to start.

If she is going to get married, I hope she will marry a rich businessman husband who will agree that letting her continue her career is the best way forward. Many of the actresses who married someone from the same industry, they end up in divorce. Yang Mi; Zhao Liying, Angelababby, and lately, Janice Wu, who guest starred in YAMG, all divorced. Here is just my opinion. I think she is one of the ambassadors for WeTV, the international viewing platform of Tencent. Perhaps she is also spokeperson for Tencent Video, the viewing platform of Tencent in China. So, she may have to some promotional stuff for those platforms.

Looking at filming of drama, in 2021, both her dramas (TLB and YAMG) were Tencent productions. And in 2022, both TBW and LOA were Youku productions.

Maybe this is how it works in China. Artistes will sign with a particular producer at the beginning of each calender year, to do a certain number of dramas. Artistes will be given the choice of which particular drama, like Reba could be deciding now if she wants to do Prosecution Elites or something else. Maybe because she is very popular now, she gets offer for dramas with better scripts??

This is not season 1 and 2 kind of stuff, but Part 1 and Part 2. They broke it up into 2 parts, because if they are combined, will exceed 40 episodes, which will not past the censors. Both parts have already been filmed and have already obtained the broadcasting license. Now, just waiting for them to finish the post production and we will get an airing date. Part 1 and 2 should be aired very close apart. Likely, no more than 2 weeks.

If many older, well known and good Chinese actresses are vying for this role (and all the 3 we see up there would fit that description), it is an idication that the script is good.

If they aim to start shooting by end Feb or early March, we should get a confirmation if Reba landed the role, or it went to someone else.
