Which SOL anime do you recommend? Mine would be Bunny Drop, Shirobako.
I know you didn't asked me but off the top of my head- Violet Evergarden Hyouka March Comes in like a Lion Chihayafuru Tanaka-kun is Always Listless ReLIFE Nodame Cantabile Gin No Saji
I really did enjoy this drama but the amount of PPL towards the end of the series just kept increasing to the…
lol its not even subtle. it reminds me of an episode from Waikiki S2 where a character was trying to shoot a murder scene but it got riddled with so much PPL that it became hilarious.
besides some series mentioned in comments below, my recommendation(s) would be - Big Forest (2018), Dear My Room (2018), The Package (2017) and Hot Stove League (2019). btw nice article :)
imo 'Navillera' is just okay coz of lack of plot (even for a slice of life). The story would've worked a lot better as a movie or a much shorter series like 3-4 eps :/
'Diary of a Prosecutor' was among one of the best series last year. 'Hush' is a very underappreciated series. It carried a distinct uncomfortable tone of realism through the entire series. It may feel a bit drawn out but its worth a watch. The story is quite heavy in the beginning so it may put some viewers off but it gets easier as story proceeds. More viewers should check it out :/
This private prison for revenge is not a knew thing in Korean movies, remember old boy ! Secondly , prison was…
I was referring to more of a typical definition. She was never caught before so we can't say if she would change her ways after serving time in an actual one. However, I do agree that prisons quite rarely reforms such offenders in majority of countries. But you're not reforming criminals like that serial killer or pedophile by placing them in any kind of cell. Just get the maximum punishment for them and let them rot away from society. Yeah the series is driving home the point that vigilantism, as good as it may feel, is not enough on its own. What goes around, comes around. it is quite true in a sense. On the other hand it is also saying that, if laws were adequate and their effective implementation was there in the first place, then there wouldn't be so many viewers tuning in to watch this series to experience catharsis about real life scenarios which turned out to be smth different. Then there's this ep 15 case which brings back another thing Prosecutor Ha Na said before, 'Let 100 criminals walk free but don't punish an innocent person.' That's the motto. But it looks like their system failed to do that too. So yeah, a change is most definitely needed and on a larger scale.
there's little to no substance to the dialogues/ story. it seems like there isn't enough plot to justify 16 eps…
lol yeah. feels like watching 2 different dramas. and I forgot that teenage girl who has third most screen time and it feels like she's just reading out some lines and has no idea what it means.
so ur telling memories of murderer and the epilogue of 15th ep r based on same case?
yeah. 'Memories of Murder' is inspired by that serial murder case. Epilogue ep 15 is about one of the murders (14 year old girl) in the serial case which was initially thought to be a copycat crime for which cops arrested an innocent and forced a confession on him. He was finally given a retrial last year where serial killer gave the testimony that he did the crime.
As much as I love SIG & PBY, their script for me are so lacklustre, the mains have 95%-90% screentime yet they…
there's little to no substance to the dialogues/ story. it seems like there isn't enough plot to justify 16 eps and makers are drawing up scenarios to pad the run time.
I see zero relevance of SLs in this series. don't know why they're here but they are far more intriguing than main leads who are so pretentious and boring with all the screen time in the world. can't believe a fantasy series is so mundane.
rn its getting a bit frustrating but I think it'll be worth it if MC work it out and gets a happily ever after :) btw nice article. I rarely see japanese series articles on this website.
Viewers here need to check out the masterpiece 'Memories of Murder' which was inspired by Hwaseong serial murder case (epilogue ep 15). You'll get an idea of how poor police work was back in the day. Serial killer literally said he has no idea why it took them so long to catch me.
