I agree. Based on the trailer and previews for the upcoming episodes, they will return and face challenges just as tough as the previous ones. I’m already mentally preparing myself.

Episode 17: This episode was so sweet and heartwarming, not only because of the beginning of the relationship (they have great chemistry, haha), but also because of the involvement of Li Zan's father. In previous episodes, there was a scene where the father meets with Li Zan after everything that happened in the Eastern Country. At that moment, I was surprised by his attitude toward his son, as he didn't seem very concerned about the fact that Li Zan almost died. However, in this episode 17, it was so beautiful to see the depth of this father's feelings, and I was moved by the conversation he had with Song Ran. That's when I realized and understood his behavior in the earlier episodes. He truly cares about his son and knew how serious the situation was, but despite understanding the gravity of it, he knew there wasn’t much he could do for him, as it was something deeper and harder to heal.

Episode 18: I really admire Li Zan's friendship with Luo. He truly cares about Li Zan and does everything he can to help him: he found a psychiatrist, took him to the hospital, bought him a hearing aid, and accompanies him to appointments. I'm really impressed by his personality and support. Despite all his efforts to help, it’s still very hard for Li Zan to open up completely. Another issue is that Li Zan is resisting proper treatment, which is a common form of denial, even though he knows he isn’t well. What’s even harder is that, despite knowing he needs help and time, he insists on engaging in activities that bring up painful memories from the Eastern Country, to the point where he ended up remembering what happened moments before the explosion. This made me very sad, because if he already felt guilty about something he couldn’t remember, now, knowing everything that happened, the pain must be even greater =( I truly believe he should have waited longer before returning to activities.

OK so question for 17 there was a flashback of both SR and LZ’s dad meeting each other somewhere along the way,…
I think you're referring to the flashback where they meet at Song Ran's house (episode 01). At that point, Song Ran had already returned to China and was looking for A-Zan, whom she didn't know well yet. It was when her house was starting to flood due to a water leak, and Li-Zan's father came to fix it.

question about episode 15 when did song ran know about jiang lians death?? i thought she didn't know but when…
The plot makes use of subtleties, leaving many events implied for the viewer to understand, which differentiates it from other dramas that provide information more directly. For example, when she searches for A-Zan after the explosion, it's clear that she doesn't consider the possibility of A-Zan being dead, but rather that he has disappeared without a trace. The same applies to Benjamin and Sa Xin: she knew they were alive, but hadn't heard from them. As for Jiang Lin, I believe she already knew he was dead, but this wasn't shown as an explicit discovery, which explains why, when informed by A-Zan, she didn't show a strong emotional reaction.

I also love the protagonist because she has very realistic traits, in my opinion. In reality, not everyone is confident, whether in relationships or in their professional life. Song Ran is a girl with no ambitions, and it seems like she just went with the flow of life. She has family problems, and you can feel how much this affects her emotionally, because, in truth, no one, except A-Zan, truly understands her. She’s shy, but not cowardly; she’s sweet, but not naive; she’s brave, but also has fears and guilt. I find her personality extremely relatable.

Everything is fine but some trope is getting too far and is unrealistic to me...I mean, what is with all these…
This is not a criticism, nor am I disregarding your comment; I understand what you meant. In fact, it is difficult to comprehend the weight of the guilt they carry, but it is something many people may face in real life. A-Zan is an altruistic person, always putting others first, even if it affects him. The death of his friend deeply impacted him because it was, after all, because of A-Zan that Jiang Lin went to Happo. Even though he doesn’t remember the details of the explosion, as his memory blocked those memories as a defense mechanism, he knows that Jiang Lin would have done anything to protect him. Therefore, he implicitly associates the guilt for his friend’s death with himself. On the other hand, Song Ran feels she could have done more for the children at the orphanage. She carries remorse and guilt, even knowing there was nothing more she could have done beyond what she already did. I believe that people who go through extreme situations in real life can develop this feeling of guilt, and if they could, they would give their own life to save someone else's, even knowing that, in reality, we have no control over the events around us.

The thing that gets me the most in 16 other than her father and his wife being completely oblivious to mental…
In fact, what Song Ran should have done was listen to both sides of the story. Both of them were carrying guilt, and whether we like it or not, this emotion influences us. Song Ran, feeling guilty about the children at the orphanage, saw in that young man perhaps an opportunity to alleviate some of the remorse she felt. However, due to her emotional instability, she acted based on what she saw and her perception of the situation according to her own judgment. A-Zan, on the other hand, acted with clarity in the situation with Jiang Yu. Even though he was also influenced by his emotions, he tried to understand the situation in order to analyze the entire context. I found this episode very emotionally deep; they needed to go through this situation to be able to open up to each other.

I just watched episodes 15 and 16, and I can say there were so many layers to them. It's clear how deeply hurt they are inside, with their minds destabilized and the feeling of guilt surrounding them. Their involvement in the situation with Jiang Lin's "brother" was so important, as it allowed them to open up to each other, stop the lies, and stop pretending they were fine when they clearly weren’t. It's hard to open your heart and show your weaknesses, but in my opinion, that was the crucial moment for them to start building a relationship. Song Ran and A-Zan will be a source of comfort in each other’s lives because no one else could understand their pains and experiences the way they do.

In episode 7, what the F was that, didn’t know white olive trees grows in the sky😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha, that was a mirage, at least that's what the caption suggests. I think they both had the same vision of the white olive tree, since they're already connected by their feelings and the same desire: world peace, and the white olive tree symbolizes exactly that. But I thought it was funny too, lol.

The drama The White Olive Tree is a romance, and logically, there will be a more comprehensive and highlighted development of the feelings of the main characters, set against the chaotic backdrop of a war and the psychological effects following a series of traumatic events. I saw comments from people who wanted the focus to be on the themes of war and psychological issues right from the start, but the drama has its own way of presenting the events. Since there are 38 episodes, we have to wait and see how these facts will be presented. In fact, I find it quite logical, as psychological issues, like PTSD, always come accompanied by a succession of frightening events. In episode 04, I can already see that A-Zan remained strong in the face of that frightening situation, but inside he felt the impact of that situation, and it is these situations that accumulate in our minds until they cause a disturbance. In my opinion, I am really enjoying the proposal, the acting, cinematography, and OST.

I'm loving it. The editing of this drama has a very different way of showing the scenes and reporting the events. I can't say enough how much I'm loving A-Zan. He's so kind and human, a loving character, a well-crafted duality to show how much facts can drive us to be strong, even when we're so fragile. Song Ran captivated me with her courage, sweetness and shyness, she gets so embarrassed around A-Zan (I think it's cute) and at the same time when she's close to him it seems like her soul lights up less in the face of such a chaotic scenario.
