Mulling this over some more... I think loneliness is worse than betrayal. A betrayal is painful but I think it can drive someone to make radical changes leading to a better life. As we're seeing here on this forum, nothing inflames people like revenge.
Loneliness - which is true of a lot of unfulfilling marriages - is more like miasma, like quicksand leading to despair.
Just shows what different worlds we all grew up in. In my world the lawyer got off easy. No man in my world would…
Are we watching the same drama? In no way did the lawyer flaunt his girlfriend. They all showed up coincidentally at the same place at roughly the same time. Hye Ryung was the one who wanted to go back home and hash this out - everyone else wanted to end the evening.
This was your first K-drama, but, hopefully not the last. What other K-dramas have you watched and can recommend?
If you want more recommendations, check out Dramabeans. I also love this blog - she's an excellent writer and critic. https://thefangirlverdict.com/index/

I'm NOT a veteran - I get recommendations from these message boards after following an actor I come to love. But I will happily share some personal favorites that you might not have stumbled on already: Arang and the Magistrate, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Heartless City, Hot Stove League, Once Again. A range of genres - fusion sageuk (historical drama) [first two], noir thriller, sports/character drama, family dramedy, respectively. Let me know what your favorite genre is and I'll recommend some more!
Yes, the writer needs to move things along NOW. This is not Voice - we're not getting a season 3. The ghost needs to step it up. (Will say, however, that the MIL is one ballsy character telling the ghost off. Part of her charm).
I too loved how the Aunt berated Sa Pi Young for ignoring her mother and hope she doesn't back down thinking SHE caused SPY to collapse.
Who do you suppose wrote the fan letter to the show admitting his crush on one of his three co-workers? Was it Dong Ma impersonating his brother Seo Ban?
Not many talks about how Sa Pi Young grow up with the trauma of blaming herself for her father's death since he…
You bring up a good point. So much time in the first season was spent establishing Pi Young's rocky relationship with her mother, and her mother trying to warn her about her MIL. In the second season, her mother barely exists except as a plot point to bring PY into the hospital. For people who skipped season 1, PY's story wouldn't make much sense. But even knowing that about her, I don't care for her.
Agree with you that the editing or sense of balance is off. Perhaps the main stars, Sung Hoon and Lee Min Young demanded more air time.
With this drama sometimes I think that the main casts are the mistresses not the wives.😡😡
In the opening title, Sung Hoon has top billing then Lee Min-young. So yes, their relationship and the butterfly effect it has on everyone else gets the most air time.
I had a small breakdown just now, after coming to the realization why I adored Lee Joon Gi so much in „The Flower…
I discovered Lee Joon Gi in Flower of Evil and have been devouring his older dramas with mixed results. I had to drop My Girl for example. Finally found Iljimae on Onetouchtv and I'm settling in for a good ride!
I'm here for Lee Sun Kyun. Just starting it, but was curious if the comments were as judgmental towards the cheating wife as they are on Love Marriage and Divorce lol.
what an emotional ride. It truly breaks ones heart for our main female lead. Well acted, wonderful background…
Spot on. FL was a complex character and the acting was strong - both FLs stood out. As you said, lots of potential, but so many things did not make sense. If her half brother was wealthy, why didn't she go to him when her husband's business was in trouble? I liked the first half much more than the second. Leon's arrival was a letdown.
hong in pyo is like one of the smartest man in dramaland how i hope the protagonist will have his character. oh,…
You were a fan of his? Can you explain why he couldn't save his struggling business but how he was on top of surveillance and knew where everyone would be before they got there? The scene with all the cops in his apartment putting red stickers on stuff - was he being busted because he used some of the marked money?
I agree that an emotional affair is equally painful, and may be even more prevalent. Loneliness can be even MORE devastating than betrayal.
Remember Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's "conscious uncoupling"? I had actually read the book before they announced theirs. It was a fascinating account of how seemingly minor ruptures snowball into irreparable breaks, sometimes abetted by cheating. In the majority of cases, the cheating was not the initial rupture but a signal of a yawning gulf between the partners.
Yes, the misogynistic tenor of the comments is disturbing, especially coming from other women. For every comment…
Yes, I forgot that food scene. I keep thinking the family is wealthy enough to travel frequently to and from abroad. Would be too much of a coincidence if the brothers knew Ah Mi AND Nam Ga Bin.
Speculating on the preview scene with Seo Ban and Song Won, what do you think their connection is?
Agreed. Disturbed that people are cheering BHR on for spousal abuse, or think the lawyer is a weak, immature baby…
He did say he wanted a divorce, but BHR got very sick. He was put in a tough place. Sure, he could have cut things off more cleanly, but I think he's the most thoughtful of the three husbands. Not sure why he gets more hate than the doctor or professor.

Yes. No character should be a waste of on-screen time - they ALL need to be great actors and move the plot forward or give the main leads some depth and motivation.
Song Kang - the older one is a magnet too! Haven't yet seen Love Alarm either ... I'm devouring serial killer dramas and action/mysteries right now, but will get back to rom-coms soon.
Please watch Misty and write back what you think of it!
