Eh didnt enjoy it that much, not for me. The romance was eh, the end result didn't satisfy me as much either.…
I was not a fan of Ta Mi, and didn't see the chemistry between her and Morgan. What was gripping were Ga-gyeong's storylines: her mother-in-law, her parents, her husband, Scarlett and least of all, Ta Mi. She is an excellent actor - watch her in Stranger 2 and Misty. Her Oscar-winning husband isn't so bad either :)
I had no idea what to expect - I had no idea who Nana is, even. And I too was knocked back by how funny and fresh this is, especially with those long kissing scenes.
But into my 15th episode, I do have to agree with those who find this dragging. I'm sure there will be some more double-crossing in the final episode - hope it redeems this fully for me.
It struck me that even the villains are portrayed with some nuance. It's Sera who doesn't transform - she's the same throughout. Don't get me wrong - I adore her badassery - but surely as intelligent as she is, she should have gotten wise to the dirty tricks after the, oh, fourth time, of being hoodwinked.
Sera excels in public speaking. I wonder why the writer chooses to make her private communications so cartoonish. In any case, Nana is incredible. I'm a stan.
At the beginning, yeonju facial expressions were to die for. Now it just seem so excessive and boring. I don't…
It's like a daytime drama adapted for night. That might explain the over-the-top actor who plays the evil sister in law - I see that she's mostly been in daytime dramas.
Just started on this while waiting for new episodes of Jirisan. It was mildly amusing at first, but as someone said, Honey Lee's character is too one note. It has a telenovela feel and plot. As another poster put it, it's diverting enough to put on background as I wash dishes or clean up.
I don't feel so guilty about pausing on Navillera, or not starting the others.
Wanted to second the recommendation for Hot Stove League. Loved Namgoong Min in that. I'm enduring The Veil because of my love for him, but HSL was by far the better role.
Not cancelling anyone unless they raped/murdered- I'd say that's a pretty low standard to keep. His career is…
A PR disaster, a personal tragedy and professional suicide for both. Another way of looking at this is seeing who had the power in this relationship. If Miss A was previously divorced, as reports allege, then she already had more to lose. If we as a society and we as individuals based our decision-making on protecting the most vulnerable among us, there would be less need for PR machinery to clean up sh*t.
This drama tells us that there is still hope for all of us ...
Yes, I'm reminded of Du Shik's line in one of the first episodes, that Hye Jin doesn't understand that some people run at full speed in life until they can't. Hits home for myself and many people I know.
I havent been invested in a kdrama in a while. Perfect balance of romance, comedy, drama and slice of life. This…
My first drama with Shin Min Ah was Chief of Staff, which did not do justice to her talent. it took Arang and the Magistrate for me to see why SMA is in a different league, right up there with Gianna Jun. HomeCha just sealed the deal. Utterly captivating.
Speaking of Jun, will be interesting to see how Mt. Jiri does compared to HomeCha. This was a sleeper hit for me - did not have it on my radar this year. The premise - a Seoul dentist moves to a fishing village - doesn't even begin to capture what HomeCha is all about!
So this is the third time i've seen ms gamri's actress in a kdrama, and in all three, she friggin died... tf?…
And Hyejin being the one who called the ambulance for Dushik on the bridge. Yes, there are too many contrived fateful encounters and assertive product placements (where exactly would Domino's be located in Gongjin, and why doesn't Audi show off another model??).
BUT ... these are minor issues and they don't take away from my love and admiration for everyone who made this show possible. One of my all time favorites.
Love to see this secret agent made appearance in CLOY...hahahaha
Yes, I had no idea that the CLOY cameo referred back to this movie until I saw a YouTube video and comment. I just started watching Secretly Greatly and I'm already exercising my abs in laughter. Hilarious!!
I dropped this initially because I couldn't get past Song Sam Dong and Suzy's shtick in the first episodes. But having re-watched Vagabond, I wanted to see Suzy's evolution and I now see the light. Count me as a Suzy stan.
The sheer talent is amazing. Watching this in 2021 and still new to Kdramas, I'm astounded by Uhm Ki Jun (the baddie in Penthouse) and Ok Taecyeon (the baddie in Vincenzo) in very different roles. Bae Yong Joon is a bonus.
I don't get what the big deal is about this show. It's just like any other survival game movie, TV show or anime…
One of the reasons why it's the number one show of all time on Netflix is because of its critique of late capitalism. This is what elevates this above the other death game dramas.
The production values were also spectacular. I will never forget the game sets or the costumes, nor wlil you. No wonder people are buying green track suits and white Vans and fencing masks for Halloween.
Agreed that man deserves the praise…he turned into a completely different person for that role if you compare…
I think Park Hae Soo was the sleeper hit. Cannot believe he was the gentle giant (read dumb) pitcher in Prison Playbook. For that matter, it blows my mind that the writer/director Hwang Dong did Miss Granny, which I loved. I will watch EVERYTHING he makes.
I loved Scarlett and Brian.

I haven't had the heart to read through all of the posts, and yours seemed to be the most salient.

Come for the music and stay for the emotions.
