I think they use flavoured rice. So they can eat it normally without mixing in any soup or curry.
No, not really. Rice mixed with egg, soy sauce and butter is for children, and maybe if you're sick (especially if don't have someone to cook porridge for you :) The Japanese sometimes mix sprinkled seaweed and bonito flakes and for flavor, but Koreans generally do not. You can also wrap seaweed squares around a spoonful of rice.

Koreans especially love the burnt crispy parts of rice mixed with hot water or hot barley tea, not unlike tahdigg.

Off topic. Do Koreans really eat rice on its own without flavour? I see it many times in dramas they have it in…
High quality short grain rice (preferred by Koreans and Japanese) cooked properly is delicious on its own. That's why people don't think anything of spending hundreds of dollars on fuzzy, high pressure rice cookers. (The basic Panasonic one-button ones are ok, but really cannot compare).
I'm trying to shift to brown rice because it's healthier but the taste falls short. Real short.

Where did you watch it???
Here's the link from the Mr. Hong page: https://dramacool.fm/drama-detail/mr-hong-2004

I tried watching it while waiting last week, and fell asleep. Not a knock on the movie, but it didn't have the sparkling light and charm of HomeCha. You really need 16 episodes to flesh out the characters, including the village itself. And SMA and KSH are perfect in their roles and together.

Was taking a break from dramas (while waiting for the next episodes of HomeCha to drop) and found this gem of a movie on Netflix. It's a beautiful portrait of love, trauma and family. I loved Eun Ja, who deserved better than that bratty stepdaughter.

I fear xo bcos he is obviously restraining himself from being romantically involved with the dentist and he already…
And what a great person Lee Sang Yi is! I love him in everything, especially in Once Again. His personality here is so easy and sunny. As much as I love Du Shik, he can be a bit preachy and nosy. He wouldn't even let Sung Hyun finish saying what his real job is.

Idk why but I feel Yu cho hui likes the wife not the husband. Or is she trying to mend things between them.
Now that you put it that way, yes I see that. And why not? The wife is so much more of a richer character. The husband is a goofball with football shaped hair.

Yes, I'm close to finishing it in 2 days too. I've become a big fan of Jung Sang Hoon.
How do you like Mine?

Yes, I'm close to finishing it in 2 days too. I've become a big fan of Jung Sang Hoon.
It starts off slow, and certain elements are over the top. One character is supposed to be like the Korean Air nut rager. One side story fizzles out. But overall, I like the strong female leads and it's a lot of eye candy.
Women of Dignity isn't perfect, and neither is Mine, but they are distinctive. Worth watching!

I can't even make it past the elder party...the fact that the description says she messes up plus her interaction…
I'm reminded of my younger self, when I first moved to Korea. While I had no problems eating food - especially pork - from someone else's hand, I was snobby about things like shampoo and design and no doubt offended too many people without realizing it. I was also offended by the patriarchy and the conservative values entrapping woman and I would have been annoyed about the comments about the workout clothes, but I suppose I've become mellower over time. Time, small towns and Kim Seon Ho - great for fermenting!

I feel a little bit differently. The way I see it, the Cafe Owner used to be from Seoul. He probably at one point…
Yes, YHJ did do him a favor inadvertently. Your posts are so thoughtful. Do you blog on the side? You should!

Yes, I wanted to see if it got better, but I can't go any further. You did us all a favor and ran that marathon for us. 100 episodes - what were they thinking??
I see that because it's a daily drama, it's not going to have the big budgets of weekend dramas, but other serial dramas do more with less (Once Again).

It is so bad that I looked up the writer and director to avoid all of their works.

This was a drama full of potentials but due to bad execution it's was a waste -_ - so disappointed with the last…
Yes. Everyone likes a good Monte Cristo revenge story, but I was shocked by how terrible the acting and production were. And this is 2021. Ordinarily decent actors overacting and shouting. Cheap interiors that are clearly sets. I could not get past the second episode. I thought Rugal was the worst Kdrama I'd ever seen, but this easily takes the cake.

Oh, wow. I thought Pohang was industrial but what I'm seeing is gorgeous. Thanks for that!

Thanks! it's easy to see why. He is such a cutie with a great personality. Hope he's like that in real life.

no, i think it's completely normal to take time to adapt in new surroundings.
All true, but nobody likes being insulted as a yokel or for having bad taste. She could have asked the shop owner if she could stock the shampoo rather than broadcasting that she was going to buy online. What small business owner is going to be thrilled about that without having the chance to compete?

Yes, I think growing up without her mother drove her to focus on her career at the expense of relationships and relational skills. Her only friend seems to be the middle school friend. Seemed more awkward than frosty to the nosy neighbor's mother from the first episode.

She didn't know how to apologize to the coffee shop singer (that dude is hilarious - I could not stop cracking up whenever he spoke) and cried about it.

Why do even people compare in first place where CLOY and WTCB really different from this one 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Both are fair comparisons. CLOY has the fate component - the ML and FL meeting previously but not realizing it. Also, the FL's biological mother dies early and the FL is a "picky princess".

Camellia has the Go Du Shim character who defends the FL from the villagers' petty judgments, not unlike Shin Min Ah's LL.

My mom finally found a show she enjoys lol. She's liked kim seonho since start up. I'm digging the positive vibes…
Yes, even my curmudgeon father is enjoying this - the colorful cast is very appealing. Suddenly I want to leave my life in a busy city and relocate to a small fishing village too.

Does anyone know where this was filmed?

I've come to love LJG after Flower of Evil and I'm hoovering up all of his old dramas. Does this stand the test…
If you say so, I will!
