Want to start to see this drama..but having some doubt if i should..is this a good one?
It depends on what you’re looking for. This drama is intense, emotional, and full of political intrigue, so if you enjoy complicated relationships, morally grey characters, and high-stakes power struggles, it’s definitely worth watching.
But a warning: the misunderstandings and conflicts between the leads can be exhausting, and the script can feel messy at times. 😅 You might find yourself frustrated with the characters as much as captivated by them.
Honestly, the leads’ performances are amazing, and that alone makes it worth watching. If you can handle emotional tension and a bit of chaos, go for it — it’s a rollercoaster, but a captivating one. 🎭❤️
Regarding the conversation between Xiao Huan and Prime Minister which Qing'er overheard in the shadow, it actually…
I noticed that using Jueding is a total win-win situation for Xiao Huan, but I didn’t realize that the main purpose of that conversation was actually to plant doubt in the Grand Tutor about the antidote. Yeah, that’s such a brilliant move—Xiao Huan’s scheming is on another level!
I actually really enjoy how consistent are the characters in this drama.Xiao Huan has 2 things he put as a priority…
Best comment, as always. 🌸
The ML… he is truly a capable ruler, wise and responsible, but as a husband… I still struggle to fully agree with him. He bears immense pressure, and yet, in his own flawed way, he tries to be a good husband. His love is quiet, complicated, and sometimes heartbreaking, but it is there.
The FL… oh, how I want to scold her. I’ve rarely seen a heroine so blind, so caught in the dark. Yet, can we really blame her? She has been deceived and sheltered, and her innocence is both her strength and her curse. We have reasons to blame both of them, yet within the bounds of their own lives, their choices feel fair, honest to their hearts, even if they crush ours as viewers. 💔
I adore the bond between the two brothers. Qing’er… he is a treasure. His mother and brother are enemies, yet he manages to navigate both worlds with grace and loyalty. Even when he doubts Xiao Huan as power-hungry, he still helps him when it matters. That bond… it feels real, and it warms the heart.
And Princess Ying… she reminds me of a delicate kitten. Her antics, her bravery, her little gestures in front of Commander Li — all of it is charming, innocent, and endearing.
As for the FL’s father… ah, what a man. He has raised two remarkable children, yet he uses his daughter as a pawn in his schemes. It’s infuriating, but it also makes the story so achingly human — the complexity of love, loyalty, and cruelty tangled together.
I don't think there will be a happy ending to this drama. The writer is doing everything she can to ensure that…
At this point it feels like the writer made it her personal mission in life to make sure these two never experience five consecutive minutes of peace. Every episode is like: ‘Hmm, how can I ruin their relationship today?’ Misunderstanding buffet, served fresh daily. 😩
And the best comedy moment? The man finally opens his mouth to explain, heart on his sleeve, ready to spill everything… and she goes, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ Girl. GIRL. The entire plot is hanging on that explanation like a dying plant begging for sunlight. IT. MATTERS. 😑
This cast is out here acting their souls out while the scriptwriter is somewhere throwing darts at a board labeled ‘misery options.’
Honestly? This is the first drama in my life where I’m actively rooting for the main couple to break up—just so I can rest in peace.”
