I started out really enthusiastic, and I did finish it, but the last few episodes took me a while to get through. It just wasn't paced well and felt very devoid of tension. Basically, I got bored. I thought the couples had good chemistry, but the story around them just felt like it was a floppy mess and it was hard to stay engaged.
If you love it, great! I'm so happy the story worked so well for you! I wanted to like it more than I ended up. And, I'd never put it in any "worst" list. Hell, I've never made it past episode 4 of "classic" Dark Blue Kiss, and I did finish Oxygen. Not every show is for everybody, but every show is going to be meaningful to somebody. In this case, Oxygen works for you, so enjoy it and ignore the rest of us. :)
Can the bro be any more of an AH? I know the answer is yes which just makes me more mad.
I loved the date they had and i'm glad TaoSaur finally figured out to write himself some notes. The tattoo was also cute as well. I'm not looking forward to next week as the brother tries to wipe away Kim's existence. I think that notebook Taosaur gave the chef is going to end up saving the day. Taosaur is so close to remembering on his own I don't think the brother's plan is going to work anyway.
Ep 3 was hilarious and was a lot more involved with Guy and Save than I thought it would be. Grandpa trailing behind them like the world's worst spy was fun. I think he actually learned more by losing them and just sitting in the middle of the plaza. They are doing a good job of really showing how out of his depth the grandpa is with a lack of phone savvy and the kids bullying him. Yet when we get a glimpse of his writing, it is actually really good.
As for Save, his secret, it was quickly busted. I'm thinking the next episode, he is going to get some real fallout from it in school with the way he was pushing Guy away in the previews. Once again, this show is doing a good job of a nuisance with Save. He isn't really gay but at the same it feels more like he never thought of it as an option and he really isn't sure what to do with what he feels now that it is. He doesn't feel nothing when he gets close to Guy but he can't deny it to grandpa because that defeats the purpose of dating Guy. That in turn is making him confront those feelings instead of pushing them aside. It is an interesting story line and i wonder where they will go with it.
As for the family and kids their reactions are adorable. I loved the mom getting all excited about and happy she is finally selling her desserts and the dad's expression is getting darker and darker. I laughed when his questions to Guy sounded like a dad sounding out a potential suitor to his kid, and he didn't even realize it. Sadly I also felt the dark shadow of where everybody but Guy knows what is really going on. Eventually, that secret will come out, and I don't think it will make Guy very happy.
Ep 4 continues on with the fun with Grandpa trying to write an NC scene. I'm really not sure how I feel about them theming the episode around doing stuff you don't want to do TBH. While I get it, I also feel uncomfortable in the context of what Save is doing and also with Grandpa not being accepting, as he thought about what he is writing. It is an interesting choice to have the Grandpa's grandfather be the voice of acceptance for him to push through on the writing front.
Poor Guy he is just falling deeper and deeper for Save. When it comes right down to it Save is a really decent guy doing a very crappy thing to his friend. Even if he does end up falling for Guy this will always be between them. I did about die of laughter when Guy misunderstood the 18+ stuff Save was researching.
Next week looks like we are going to get a big blowup all the way aroundš
Another week of āwell weāre not datingā but honestly dating way more than their FWB situation š
Lal trying to hide the murdered bamboo killed me, girl just let your non-girlfriend nurse it back to life.
Next weekās episode is finally KapookCiize time to shine, I really feel like Proud this time around is gonna be pushing LalWine together while she tries to bag Tangkwa. Love that we have them all for 6 more weeks, still getting a spot in my Top 5 for sure this year!
Looks like the next episode is breakup era... But why exactly? I am a little confused on the details
I thought it had been their goal all along to abduct a mudan tribe member in order to develop a perfume out of them for marketing purposes. Now Scent lied to Gaysorn and made it sound like he wanted to develop the perfume for his own personal use. Then the uncle revealed that the goal of developing the perfume was actually to possibly revive Scent's father, but that confuses me because if they thought the mudan scent could revive the dad then they could have just shoved one of those sweaty handkerchiefs in his face š that was all nonsense right? They were trying to make a perfume to sell for a sick profit weren't they?
So Gaysorn breaks up with Scent in the next episode, I presume it's because he finds out the actual truth (that Scent's goal all along was to take a mudan person in order to extract their scent and market it)?
Can't wait to see how neatly this drama tie up all the unresolved emotional threads for all the characters. Also very sad to bade goodbye to this wonder of a drama and all the beautifully written characters in it. Easily this season's best written kdrama and personal favourite by some distance
Ki Jun may have officially taken over the title of "Greenest Green Flag in Kdramas" for me. It was a small detail, but him putting his hand on her back to steady her at the end of the episode was such a nice little gesture to let her know that he's still got her, even when she's being attacked .
I still don't know what A Jeong's plan here is. Jae Yeol has accepted that he won't get In A back at this point, his conversation in her apartment was pretty clear, but what's A Jeong's plan her? Break up In A and Ki Jun then still not be together with Jae Yeol?
This show continues to effectively mix the drama with comedy really well and the pacing is so refreshing. No storylines sticking around too long. No wasted screentime. It's such a breath of fresh air.
EPISODE 6, AND THE WRIST KISS WTFFF IM GONEEE, my heart genuinely skipped a beat when he brought her wrist to his lips and kissed it so gently as if shes something so decilacte and precious he needs to handle carefully.
and the way she tries to control herself, but cant and ends up giving into her feelings and kissing him, my god yes yes yessss fuck yesss shin seo-ri yesss
thats why i always stand by the quote, "a man who years is a man who earns." hell yeah my godd. the wrist kiss was way hotter and intimate than the actual kiss imo. it was so damn fucking hott
AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON HIS GAZE WHEN HE LOOKS AT HER. my god his gaze cha se-gye my god the man you are. we are going to get absolutely loser in love, smiley cutie cha se-gye next episode it seems. im so exciteddd yayaayya
ITS ACTUALLY OFFICIAL FOR ME NOW. ive moved on to my new kdrama ML crush, my fav ML. ive moved on from sun-jae in lovely runner to cha se-gye now. he is too charming heo nam jun, youve always been fine asf, but this drama comeback youre truly something else. youre on a truly whole another level my god.
I'm not someone who pays attention to upcoming shows. I usually just see an on air for an ep 1, read the synopsis and decide if I want to pick it up or not, but somehow this one was actually on my radar for a while and I was looking forward to it.
I will agree, this is not a BL (at least not yet. I don't think it will fully delve into one either) but it is pretty fun so far. It's definitely silly, it's got the real world struggles, and it's just the right balance of real and crazy so far. The first ep was a little slow, but the 2nd one was better.
I love the great grandma. Not a single word, but she's so adorable I just want to hug her. Also funny watching this old man run around "Mom, get back in your chair". She's clearly got her wits about her still too if she was trying to give people her recipe to sell sweets. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be all that good.
I do feel really bad for Guy. He's going to be strung along in a "relationship" so Grandpa and Safe can try to get a BL novel written. The fact that this poor actor was also in one of the worst shows ever, Dinosaur love, doesn't help. It's all I can think of when I see him. Hopefully this takes at least a little BL twist and Safe ends up falling for him.
Anyways, definitely looking forward to more. I think this will become one that I just watch both episodes on Sunday/Monday depending on how busy I am. It's not a need to watch immediately but it's a fun watch thus far.
Yeah, itās short and you can tell the budget isnāt huge, but itās still really cute and interesting. I need answersāwhoās that girl, and why do I get evil vibes from her?š¤·āāļø
- Little Brother is the youngest of the 4 but he's the one bossing them around. :D
- The power walk with the silly glasses :D
- Little Bro: "Big Bro, you're here! Oh, and you're here too (shoots dagger eyes at Lu Feng)." The brothers' relationship is weirdly close but hilarious.
- Little Bro sees how controlling Lu Feng is and thinks it's happening in his own relationship with Qin Lang too. But while LF is manipulative and obsessive, QL is not.
- "This is the only proof we have of how happy we were" Ugh, the foreshadowing this week is killing me.
- Lu Feng's sister has been a problem, but at least she's calling him out on yet again making decisions unilaterally for himself and Cheng Yi Chen.
- What a way to end the episode! What will Lu Feng tell CYC about his will?
So Moo Moo's plan is to do things that will make Fu dislike him, and instead, he is the perfect employee, learning everything fast and bottling up his rage at Fu being his normal, annoying self? I'm so confused o_O I wouldn't say that Thai's plan failed but more like Moo Moo failed at implementing the plan. Instead, he keeps getting pulled off balance by unexpected nice things Fu does without effort.
TBH, while I like this show, it is time to move it along. Three episodes are plenty of these two holding in the same pattern. It looks like Cooheart appearing next episode is supposed to spike the jealousy button on Moo Moo, and I really hope that it isn't shut down like it was today in the shower and the guy hitting on Fu. I actually want to see something happen between these two. More of slip of Moo Moo smiling or thinking positively about Fu and more than a minute of Fu actually thinking about his actions.
The younger bro continues to be repulsive. It looks like next week is his redemption arc and I really want no part of it. I want to know WTF they are doing with Thai and his glasses-wearing guy. They have barely even talked to each other. I'm beginning to wonder if they aren't just a gag like Tian is at this point. Tian gets laid each episode and Thai's partner changes jobs every episode.
My favorite part was his assistant asking if you wanted to paint patch because he was straining his neckš¤£
I will say I kind of thought there was gonna be more action or more. I donāt know anything for the series. Itās been pretty tame and quiet. Iām excited for next week after the preview though cause I think weāre probably gonna get somewhere
I can't believe it's actually over. I don't know about this being my favourite GL of the year but I think it's definitely the most well made. The cinematography, the acting, the music, the story with its twists and turns, all top notch. Comparable in quality with Roller Coaster I think. As a final episode I was more than happy with it, it wrapped things up quite nicely (Arisa got over her uncle's death pretty bloody quickly didn't she?). I can certainly see myself rewatching this show in the future. Saturday's will be pretty empty without it BUT as one GL door closes another one opens.
Oh dear. I was kind of enjoying this one, but this is my least favorite GL trope (the scheming egotistical man who doesnāt take no for an answer and doesnāt believe women loving each other is real). It immediately knocked the wind out of my sails.
Awwwww I loved this last episode. I loved the whole series!! But they wrapped everything up so well, plus it was absolutely hilarious how Si took "the kids" back to her parents' house. I was curious what they even had left of the story after episode 7, but all of this was totally worth seeing. I'm gonna miss themmmmmm š
