I'm still surprised I never knew about him before FOF. How did a man so fine even managed to hide so well? Was he actually imprisoned in a cave like Li Lun?
When are they going to reveal Bai Jiu's true identity? This kid can't be a human, he's a hamster demon. Yall don't believe me? Look up 'screaming hamsters' on youtube or something and compare them to how he screams, that's a hamster right there. Plus his behaviour is... suspiciously hamster-like, coincidence? I think not.
I just know it's not going to disappoint me. I was already looking forward to this but now I'm even more excited after watching the trailer. The sets, costumes, cast, everything is so pretty.
Guo Jingming, I'm currently outside your house kowtowing in rain while looking pathetic and weak, there's melancholic…
I've been on my bs for 11 days and you're still unaffected? Seriously?? Guo Jingming you better pay my hospital bill once I'm done with this. I'll cough more at night so you won't be able to sleep at all.
I have such an unhealthy obsession with Li Lun, his 'don't mind me I'll just possess you like that goofy ghost who possessed Annabelle doll' power and his unhinged evil ways. I don't think I'll be able to hate him even if he killed everyone in this drama and that's coming from someone who loves all the main characters.
Once he begins getting decent amount of screentime in Fangs of Fortune, this comment section is going to be filled with people fainting over his face, beautiful eyes and sharp gaze. Mark my words.
Edit: Just checked the comments and yep, it's happening.
Does anyone knows if there's a way to find out what background music they used in this drama? There's a dreamy tune that played when Wen Xiao was having flashbacks after meeting Zhu Yan in the first 2 episodes, I like it so much but I can't find it anywhere. All I can find are the opening and ending ost.
If you're lost and laying injured in a forest and suddenly hear bells behind you, consider yourself saved. Because that's just Bai Jiu and his hair accessories. If you hear screaming that suspiciously sounds like a squirrel, run. Because once again, that's just Bai Jiu but he saw something scary.
So far loving this drama! The cinematography is astounding where every frame is like a painting. The set design…
I noticed the skin smoothing thing too, it's not a major issue but I'm also not so fond of it. Sometimes, it doesn't go well with the lighting because when the scenes are too bright (for example, when Wen Xiao went to give buns to Yichen in ep 2, they were in front of a window with the sunlight pouring through, it made their faces seem too bright due to the skin smoothing) or they're flashbacks shown through a kind of filter, it blurs the actors' facial expressions to some degree, which sucks because the cast is amazing and it's fun to see them play their characters.
Wait a minute, I just noticed something, their wigs look so natural that I can almost believe that they actually grew out their hair for this drama lmao. Even Bai Jiu has such a natural-looking wig despite his hair being covered with a bunch of cute lil bells, it doesn't seem fake at all.
I'll be honest, I ain't feeling the straight romance. I totally get why someone else would like them (just because I can't relate doesn't mean I can't understand, I won't yuck anyone's yum) and they're adorable together but more like how friends are, especially when they're bantering. I just want the girls with girls and the guys with guys, their chemistry is so natural it's not even sismance or bromance to me anymore, just romance. Although they'll never be canon-ly confirmed couples as we all know the kind of stance China has regarding lgbtq characters in media, but that won't stop me lmao. My mind is free and so are my fingers, I'll still type my heart out and yap about how cute their scenes are.
The actions scenes here really take me back to the time when I was a kid obsessed with martial art movies and would fight imaginary enemies because they would just activate a part of my brain that goes 'I want to fight like that and look as cool as them'. I'm THAT invested in the fighting choreography of this drama. I love it so much.
There's a lot of stuff I liked here, but my most favourite thing about this drama has to be the beautiful sets. Whenever there's sets in dramas that look obviously fake and flimsy, it takes me out of the world building. But here, they're quite intricate and you can tell that many of them are actual places, so it keeps the immersion alive.
I just want to step into this drama at times, although if I did, I'll probably get killed by a random passerby within the first minute for being a clueless idiot who keeps staring at the noodle restaurant like I just saw heaven on earth.
