Forget actors, anyone else wants to see her with Xiao Yan again? I really liked them in The Legends and Love is Sweet, they've got the chemistry to pull off sismance. Wu Jiayi is pretty great with her too.

After watching her dramas, I've noticed one thing — she owns the colour red. No wonder she owns our heart too, it's also red.

I absolutely love Lin Beixing and Yang Chaoyang's friendship. It's not everyday when you come across two characters of different genders being bffs and remaining sincere and PLATONIC till the end. At first, I was worried they'd sacrifice their friendship to turn Yang Chaoyang into some petty love rival of the ml, but that never happened and I couldn't be happier about this.

"Do you like guys?"
"No"
"Then what do you mean?"
"I like it because it's you sunbae"
Please, it's 2022. I'm tired of this. How come in a bl drama, the characters are so afraid of being gay? What are they then if not gay or bi, homiesexual? sunbaesexual? that-thicc-judoguy-sexual?

I saw their 'explanation' regarding the 'mistranslation' in the comment section and they literally just said "Do-jin doesn't just like Hyun-woo because he's a man, but expresses that he really likes Hyun-woo because he's Hyun-woo." which means the same damn thing. Same-sex attracted people don't fall for others just because of their gender, we fall for the PERSON too. I won't date every girl I come across, just like how a gay dude wouldn't date every guy.

Why do these bl producers believe that it's some extremely rare feat for someone to like a person because of their personality? Is it that hard for a character to admit that they're gay AND like their love interest? Why does it have to be "I don't like you because you're a guy, I like you because you're you" as if mentioning their attraction towards same-sex would make their love seem 'shallow'? Why all these mental gymnastics just to avoid using the word 'gay' to describe the characters?

Like, there's absolutely nothing wrong with recognising your attraction towards someone and still loving them for being themselves. If it's supposed to be just a questioning or denial phase (which is common, understandable and even appreciated if the portrayal is done correctly like in 'I Told Sunset About You') then they should at least move forward from it, to show that the characters finally know and accept themselves. It shouldn't end at "I don't like men, I only like you" it should end at "I like you. And, I'm attracted to men."

Edit: I just noticed that, almost an year later, the user @SnowRegret who argued with me under this comment has been banned (not because of me, they broke mdl guidelines over and over again and were removed for other reasons by the admin/mods themselves) and without the context, my replies come across as weird and passive-aggressive.

So, I'd like to clarify that most of my replies were sarcastically mirroring theirs at times and I never meant to be offensive. They didn't mention their views on my opinion at all but rather accused me of vile things, claimed I'm a straight homophobic person living in a fancy villa with no problems who just want to dictate gay people's lives, and when I said that I'm not straight and explained my point of view as respectfully as possible, they replied with "you bitched in your entire comment about being bi. You're bi, so what? big deal" that's why I left a similar comment to that. They pulled me into an argument, in which they only insulted me but never put forth their opinions on the drama itself, and then said I'm 'seething and foaming at mouth' and got them into this 'pissing match' that they weren't interested in (despite constantly replying to have the last word in the argument). I really wish I had taken screenshots.

It's 3am right now, I have school tomorrow, I should be sleeping, but I can't fall asleep before leaving this comment and I also don't know how to describe it without sounding unhinged but his eyes... they're perfect. Absolutely perfect. This guy can stand there and stare and I'd give him my left kidney. Whenever I read the word 'phoenix eyes' in a novel, his eyes come to my mind first. It's as if his eyes were drawn by a painter or carved by a jade carver, they're so enchanting and truly make him stand out. That's all. Goodnight.

There was once a time when I'd see my favourite danmei novels get a drama adaption and be like "YESSSSS" but now I just die a little from the inside because these dramas have to go through A LOT despite being censored to hell and back.

He's so underrated. His acting is subtle yet expressive and he never overdoes anything. A writer can decide to give him no dialogues and he'll still be able to get across the emotions his character might be feeling at the moment, that's how great he is at his work. Hoping he will get to play a mute character, I get a feeling that he would be good at this role.
On Shining for One Thing May 2, 2022
I just started this drama and I'm in love with the main characters already; the fl is such a breath of fresh air while the ml is absolutely adorable, I especially like how he rarely speaks (at least in the beginning episodes) yet looks so much in love with the fl, his eyes speak what he mouth doesn't. I just knew Qu Chuxiao wouldn't disappoint with his acting.

This drama felt so healing and I liked how they portrayed two dysfunctional families which seemed 'normal' from the outside, I could find myself relating to Siwon. It didn't had much story, but that's kind of the best part, it's more about the characters rather than the plot; As for how the characters were one-dimensional, I completely agree, however, I believe it was because this drama was dealing with a specific aspect of these characters — their fears, Siwon's fear was that nobody would like him if he wasn't perfect (mainly appearance-wise, but he also cared about his reputation and popularity), while Daun was afraid of being abandoned for not living up to everyone's expectations and first impressions of him.

Damn this man's defined cheekbones and sharp jawline can slice a carrot into two. Rather than bouquet of flowers, people probably gift him vegetables.

Some people might say that this drama isn't perfect, I agree. It's not perfect. It's beyond perfection. I've used the phrase "it kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end" to describe many dramas, but for the first time ever, I actually experienced that.

There was no emotion I didn't feel while watching this; anger, sadness, happiness, frustration, relief - this drama managed to make me feel all of them with such EASE.

I also admire the way both writers kept it grounded into reality, they actually showed how grief changes a person, how just because someone grew up in cage doesn't mean they can't feel the cage anymore, how going through the same incident over and over again affected the main characters' mental health, etc. The unanswered questions personally didn't bother me because the fan theories were believable.

What was the ending???
I haven't seen the other movie so I can't compare this one to that, but to answer your first question, yep they do remain faithful to each other till the very end.
The fl's mother was really controlling and decided to marry her to someone else, but she still ran back to the ml, didn't like the other guy, and never abandoned the ml, so it's obvious that she's not the greedy kind. In fact, it was him who gave up at first (then regretted it) because he was feeling ashamed of how he couldn't give her a better life.

Another thing about the ending is that although it was an open ending, which could vaguely be interpreted as a happy one, it was still pretty emotional and the whole movie is angsty.

His appearance is quite special, it's like perfectly balanced in every way. He has soft facial features but he doesn't exactly look 'delicate' because of them, he also have a fit body which, despite being opposite of his facial features, surprisingly goes well with his face instead of making him look like this: https://i.postimg.cc/13Bmmv0p/Teddy-morelike-Daddy.jpg and I really like the beauty mark under his right eye, I have one in the exact same place ˊᗜˋ

What was the ending???
Open ending that's up to the viewers' interpretation. It could be both sad and hopeful (neither of them seeming nonsensical and both going well with the story) depending on what you choose to believe or make out of the last scene. I personally believe it was a happy ending.

My guy better get casted in a lot of dramas, whether it's bl or has a gay character, because the gays indeed play the gays best - at least we won't have to worry about them earning cash through playing gay characters just to end up talking trash about the actual lgbtq community. It's also nice to see lgbtq artists finally get the opportunity they deserve.
