I may or may not like the storylines of all of his movies, but this guy sure has a way with visuals. He could record a wall and it'll still be shot in such a particular way that it would start to resemble heaven on earth. It's as if he looks at the world through his camera lenses, thus knows how to capture his perspective with ease. If someone was born to be a director, then it's definitely him.
The main leads really need to work together again. This drama is the first time I've ever seen them in main roles and honestly, I'm already in love with them! I thought nobody else besides Bailu + Yunxi in Love is Sweet and Zhaolin + Liang Jie in The Eternal Love would be able to do complete justice to the 'bickering couple' tag (in my personal opinion - don't come at me lol), but the leads here just proved me wrong. Now, I don't just want them, i NEED them together in another drama.

Btw once it gets released, please let me know in the replies lol.
As someone who's a few episodes behind than most of this drama's viewers, the comments here are making me scared of episode 28. 💀
𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁: Thanks for the replies! Although I didn't open any spoilers, seeing people upset over that episode kind of made me think this drama was about to go downhill or something, but the replies really reassured me.
(Episode 12) https://i.postimg.cc/6QMB3f3H/poortoy.gif After breaking the trinket she was like "Guess it's your responsibility now, deal with it" but the ml just threw it into his subordinate's hands lmao. These two share the same braincells and I love every moment of it. I was getting tired of the 'opposites attract' trope, I wanted a couple who act like silly bffs and they're exactly that.
This drama's cheap looking costume and make up is why I won't give it a 9/10 rating. Look is really important…
They decided to spend the budget into quality writing and cast who can actually act. I'd say it's better than spending it all on visuals but hiring a kindergarten kid as a writer. But then again, that's just my opinion and you're entitled to your own. It wasn't supposed to be an attack, I just felt like expressing mine.
It actually doesn't take that long for him to know the truth. I'll list the episode which revealed their past…
It was Episode 13. The fl told him the truth and it also seems like he could already tell Qiu Min wasn't the girl he saved in the past (because of her timid personality which is unlike the fl's) so fortunately, there was no misunderstandings.
She’s given her fan to her sister. Now LY is gonna think she’s the girl he met when he was younger. :(
It actually doesn't take that long for him to know the truth. I'll list the episode which revealed their past meeting, you can open the spoiler just in case if you're interested or you can keep it un-opened if you don't like spoilers and want to find out yourself. ^^
"So you want to be a law enforcer. Fine, I'll pray for you so that the god will make you into a man in your next life."
"No, I'm fine with being a woman. I believe one day, men and women will be equal; we can study, work as government officials, open business or shop, or do whatever we want. Even though this probably won't happen in my lifetime, for my next life or the life after that, I still want to be a woman and watch it happen with my eyes."
I know, I say this a lot but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE QIU YAN!! Finally a fl who's playful and adorable in nature yet smart and capable.
I'm currently on episode 9 and I absolutely love the fl so far. I just can't understand why some people (not here, somewhere else) are annoyed with the fact that the ml oversmarts the fl at times and can see through her schemes.
I mean, lets be real, the ml is literally a Duke, he was taught since a young age no matter what he wanted to learn, he was given every single opportunity, and was encouraged for his ambition. What about the fl? She's someone who got abandoned by her own mother just because she's a girl, she's also bullied by most of her family members and was never given any kind of support. When she told her parents that she wants to become a female official, they said she's asking for the moon. If a man had said this, his parents would've sold themselves to make it come true.
A man's ambition is treated like an ambition, a woman's ambition is treated like a pipe dream. For a girl from that time, the fl is already smart, clever, and capable enough—no, actually more than enough. And I'm really liking how the ml would test her at times, I don't think he's questioning or doubting her intelligence, it feels more as if he plans on teaching her further because he can see the potential inside her. I love soft guys so I do like the sml too, but I kind of still prefer her with the ml more (at least for now).
Hello, can you recommend some of those short dramas you watched?🤗
Sure! Here's some that I've enjoyed: ↝Assassin Academy ↝Magic Grocery Store (it was the most hilarious drama I've ever seen! The characters were adorable too) ↝Shan Ye Yi Si ↝Nothing but Breaking Up (it might look pretty simple but it was surprisingly a great watch) ↝Everything and Nothing ↝Cat's Bar ↝To.Jenny ↝Saint☆Oniisan ↝What's Your Blood Type? ↝The Ingenuity of the House Husband
Not as short as the dramas listed above, but still pretty short according to cdrama standards: ↝A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower ↝Ancient Detective ↝Missing Persons ↝Su Yu
I sometimes find it funny how he wore a white costume for the first time in Ashes of Love and all the viewers from then on just collectively decided that white is officially, legally, and obviously his colour. Imagine having visuals so ethereal that you play a deity once and it becomes your whole image. I didn't even like Runyu much and prefered the ml in AOL, but this guy still ended up being my favourite for some reason.
Someone really needs to start a petition for him to do an asmr video. If that doesn't work then we'll hold him at a gunpoint. Idc. I just want this man to do asmr with his deep, clear, and husky voice.
Now, I don't just want them, i NEED them together in another drama.
