For me XL is even more absent in the book. And XY feelings are very very clear.. I conclude XY never loves XL in romantic way...both in novel and drama.(she never wore that red dress waiting ever at dragon bone seaside ..with A Nian)..she never had that sweet blushing and longing towards XL.. XL come and go random..and XY is fine with that. With Jing ..she has more longing....XY suffered lovesickness only for Jing..
