I haven‘t loved anything recently as much as I loved this drama 😭
It had been years since I was invested in a story, I didn’t think myself capable again to feel so strongly about one. All I can do is quote Mr Knightley: „ If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more". (Yes I am saying while yapping about it nonstop)

Not to mention, it was already established and shown ML was dating Sey Reyong cause of her looks and perceived social status, and now the plot is backtracking and trying to potray ML as some chivalrous guys who was dating her to protect her, absolutely ridiculous. The writing has a problem remaining on one course and switches too much to make sense, it adapts to whatever it wants the current episode to be. From all my time watching kdramas, no doubt that this habit will not go away and become even more prevalent in the future episodes and then people will get upset about the absurd and inconsistent things that will happen towards the end and act as if there weren't already warning signs beforehand.

After 4 episodes I can confidently conclude the leads in this show are so utterly dull and devoid of any depth. Sae Reyong is a more intriguing character and she feels out of place for this drama. The leads feel like they're in a typical romcom for kids but the overall vibe of the entirety of the show feels a bit off. Even the romance between the brother and the girl from the family is more interesting. The leads romance is very surface level and there is no real explanation to their attraction other than being there at the right time to validate eachother (him being bored, her being ignored.) Despite ep3 being the most dramatic and serious one, it didn't end up affecting the plot or direction of the story at all. It's like they used it make it their relationship appear more intense than it is. Also the ML's actions are inconsistent and contradict themselves. Him being afraid of his GF turned out to be afraid FOR her, but he didn't care to ask about her when the police came and was so apathetic asking if she had died. That was all before he found out what had happened or realizing she tried to frame him. He then goes and makes her an open target. Both FL and ML are very childish and shallow characters, they genuinely feel like the weakest link, especially with everyone around them appearing more interesting and complex than them.

And as I mentioned, things that are too serious are brushed off too easily. An attempted murder by Sae Reyong shouldn't have been dismissed like that by the plot, nor the FL's assault. Them going back to school as if nothing happened is bizarre. They introduce complex storylines, only for them to end them quickly and easily.

Be for real that suicide sequence was so hilariously unserious

I‘m not. Two things can be true at once. FL is not particularly smart, and there are people who exploit that. I didn’t blame her for almost being trafficked, I was talking about her as a FL the last 3 episodes being boring and making dumb decisions every single time.

The human trafficking situation in ep3 is genuinely so scary, because it’s so real. They’re really experts at finding vulnerable people and manipulating them, turning their minds against them, making them think every step along the way was their own decision, gaslighting them & more. People who defend such people in real life like using that ignorance and naivity of the victims against them and try to let them take the fall for it while yapping about „accountability“ of the victim. I have seen this countless times in real life cases, from Tate to Epstein, and even the Cornell case guys exhibiting the same techniques and manipulations.

Why is the FL so stupid omg I thought the pill sequence might be some delirious dream or sth but she really walked right into it, this girl is too stupid to live 😭

Watching ep 3 and Im ROFL at the GF having the guts to frame ML, even in her state she’s plotting lmao I was afraid she had died and the story would get boring but I‘m glad she’s still here.
Also ROFL at FL going around brainstorming how to k1ll herself

At some point I thought he has some plot planning with his background story with KAIST and I remember his face being weird when the Prof talked about 3 members of that team having left it and the department not being able to participate in the WRS. Then I thought he might be a spy, then that he might be gay, then that he only liked him as a friend but now abandoning his supposed love to meet him?? And then the scene when he is preparing to go to work and putting on parfum to meet ML?? Dude is so creepy

IKR. He is so utterly self-serving. I promise you that if he ever got into a fight with the FL he would hurt her more than ML did. ML at least intends no harm but this one would hurt someone out of spite if he found himself justified

Can we talk about the Prof telling ML to watch out for cars and there being many accidents WHAT EVEN WAS THAT Is he threatening him or what lol. I like that ML figured out he deliberately put them together to see how they react and the ill intended nature of that move being adressed in the story

They have such a hard time accepting this and are getting so overly defensive it’s hilarious. Trying to shut up everyone pointing out simple facts. If you don’t mind the ML being a cheater as long as the FL remains the other woman, say so but don’t try to kid anyone here by trying to reframe basic facts. I promise you the moment the ML were to cheat on FL they would have a problem, because they think she’s so special and he‘d be not allowed to do it to her. What if she doesn’t wanna have s*x with him and he goes to another woman for that and tells her „Im so scared to break off with my current GF“ they’d immidiately lose their minds LOL suddenly it would not be ok cause „but they lOvE eachother!!“. (Im)moral behavior speaks louder than fleeting feelings.

I‘m convinced it’s an ego thing. Her being competent in her field and watching him pine after another man, he must think she’d be a great piece of decoration for him and a win, if he got her to be into him the way she was into ML. The fact he likes to demean ML and call him a loser proves to me how he thinks he’s superior and it frustrates him that he still has impact on her. He refuses to acknowledge or consider the depth of their feelings for another but wants his selfish desires be validated and is mad they’re not.

For real that was such a loser move. He ain’t beating the allegations he’s actively into ML, not just as a friend

Correct. I also think people misunderstand what „realistic“ means: it doesn’t mean that a character does everything exactly as you would have done, it means they’re realistic in the sense they have their own traits, flaws, personalities beyond cliche tropes or being one dimensional.

No I meant she said „I lost“ during the fight with the ML, not about the game. She won the game. She said „I still lost“ during the fight cause she lost the fight with him.

I realized only now why he thought they had broken up when she said "I guess I lost after all" during the fight after the card game. He understood it as her saying "Looks like I lost the game either way" aka if she were to lose the game she had to break up with him.
