Everything starting from ep 24/25 kinda wasn’t making sense but ep 28?So do they want me to believe FSG was…
The scriptwriters had everybody in Susha understandably losing their shit around the same time. The Empress and Murong Zhong felt like they were pushed to a point of no-return, so they snapped. Humans in high places when pushed can do very crazy things. This is fundamental instinct thing, only everybody has different thresholds. It's not unrealistic.
Why did the Emperor let the Empress near him? He was emotionally blindsided and his ego was wounded, in less than two days. He lost to his wife and misunderstood her fundamentally, his son severed ties with him, he no longer has a physician willing to keep him alive so he knows he will die soon, he already prepared an edict to get rid of the Zhuangs so he thought she was helpless and would be totally dependent on him plus he wasn't his usual paranoid cunning self. Of course she will kill him.
There are regions and countries in strife and/or civil war, such as the Middle East and Sudan. Humans will do irrational things not for the most noble or evil reasons, but usually from base instincts. Nothing makes an adult snap faster than threatening the offspring with unavoidable impending death or exile.
If I wanted to nitpick this drama, I can. I partially did that for my MDL review of "The Journey of Legend", but I decided to use it on the Directors and Screenwriters who really screwed up the storytelling, production and post-production there, hence the actors and actresses getting the primary blame weren't really at fault.
If you want to enjoy a dark-horse good mini-drama this year (also historical period like this), IQiyi's "Tower Of Whispers" just finished its run and did well for a mini-drama. Everyone acts well there, and you'd be surprised at the quality. That Director does mini-dramas relatively well, including cinematography. And the fight scenes were well-done.
Yes, him and lots of others. But empy is def dead dead- no fake out. Empress made him into a pin cushion...
Feng Suige's memory should be retrieved by episode 31. But I suggest given all the plots being tied-up or continued, watch episodes 27 to 30 today or you'll have a lot on your plate to digest over 6 episodes

There are at least two details (one with the FL in beginning ep) and (one with the ML in this latest episode) which can be considered plot holes, but one can temporarily ignore those to enjoy discussing everything else.
When watching "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty", at least ten MDL users including myself noticed at least 5 plotholes in the first episode (one of them involved a cliff) but some of us eventually put all that to one side even while snarking about it, since it was a time-travel romance and we saw no point in constantly and repeatedly pointing out every single non-plausible detail.
That said, it's nice to have people who notice all these details too, but can make it funny. Cyn Lynn will have fun in her eventual write-up dissection for this drama, but I'm sure she will enjoy this drama immensely.
One of her snark posts really helped for a 2024 drama whereby the storytelling was as consistent as a colander mating with a sieve. That was very different from this drama.

The mess in Susha will be resolved once Feng Suige gets his eyesight and memory back within the next two episodes. The mess in Jinxiu will start around the same time.
1) Breaking point of Murong Zhang in episode 27 – 17:34. Great back shot paired with music. The BGM was something…
Also, have this wonderful BTS of Qin Tianyu (Xia Jingyan) and Xia Meng (Xiyang) before and after a specific scene in episode 26. Being so funny and sweet before and after that scene is quite a stark contrast (and I hope they get happy endings in their next dramas):

I swear the screenwriters have a thing for Shakespeare and unlike me, enjoyed Dream of Red Mansion (the family dynamics and politics in that classic is a pain in the ass but riveting if you are hooked).
Xiyang believes that most likely, the story of a coup is due to her stepmother the Empress staging a coup with the help of other officials, and her second brother may have agreed to help. She knows they are not bound to her by blood, while her blood brother and father both perished in an impossible story. She most likely believes her father and brother are dead, and she is alone.
Since the writers chose to use that detail of an intentional incident from novel-Yixiao now carried out by drama-Xiyang, then I believe drama-Xiyang intends to deliberately seduce the Jinxiu emperor and make him go to war against Susha for her. But Xia Jingshi has his own plans.
I just happened to refresh this page, and yours is the first comment I see as the 13330th comment. Now reverting to recovering from today's episodes with yoghurt.
So now I’m guessing the princess and the emperor are going to end up together? I had a feeling something like…
I believe Xiyang now wants to get revenge for her father and brother upon believing they are dead, because she knows her brother would never enact a coup, and knows she needs an army for it (they also swapped something in the novel from what Yixiao did, and gave it to Xiyang): https://kisskh.at/768987-wan-xin-ji#comment-23805642
That is actually true lol. Dude was so ready for his honeymoon trip but these guys had to give him a reason to…
Can they wrap everything up in 10 episodes? I'd assume Feng Suige needs to reclaim the throne, before he can confront Xia Jingshi who should have successfully killed Xia Jingyan by then.
I literally thought i would cough up blood. Like they do in this drama. I am too invested in this story.
I thought I was literally going to be sick. At least three times. In episode 28. Good thing I prepared ice-cream and crisps and a lot of ice for after both episodes. Took longer than 90 minutes for me to finish today.
GUYS I LOVE LOVE THIS comment section its so freaking peaceful and loving . its seems like every other comments…
Many of us might be partial emotional-wrecks after episodes 27 and 28. But yes, this is a great comment section whereby everyone seems to be stuck on plots and characters and losing sleep together XD
Fatal Hearts: One arrow, five families, two kingdoms, 28 episodes, and too many pauses during 90 minutes later…
1) Breaking point of Murong Zhang in episode 27 – 17:34. Great back shot paired with music. The BGM was something opening and shattering and ominous at the same time, as he walked away in tears.
2) Breaking point of Empress Zhuang in episode 27 – 30:56. Her acting here is top-notch of something scary breaking inside and throughout her entire being, and not because her eyes were red. 15 years of wanting the Emperor's love and doing everything she could possible in her position, even if she may not have deserved her position as Empress. Only to see it go to nothing, unless she kills him. What the Emperor said about her son's fate was the breaking point.
3) That blade through Feng Suige’s chest in episode 28- Seeing the tip emerge from his chest, I literally thought I would be sick. This is also the moment I realised I was more emotionally connected to his character role than I thought. Great writing, very good directing, and highly-laudable acting. Great combo for twenty-eight episodes. Also, wind machine, what would we do without you?
But please remove the irritating spotlights of SOKP for all future romance scenes.
4) Second time I thought I was going to be sick was seeing Yixiao digging like mad to find Feng Suige and not break down. Li Qin did this so well that I had too much dust in my eyes during this entire sequence, so I had to rewatch. And clear more dust from my eyes. Towels are wonderful things.
5) All those men dying to protect their First Prince – Really wanted to use the fast-forward button. Decided to torture myself and not do so. Had to stop for ten minutes after that, before being able to continue.
6) Thank you, Directors and Screenwriters. The Fated Hearts Reddit thread for these two episodes will certainly bust 300+ comments. I don’t know how I am going to sleep.
7) Episode 30 preview – Scriptwriters took what novel-Yixiao did within in Chapter 11 and gave that incident to drama-Xiyang, whereby drama-Xiyang chews on food mixed with broken ceramic, thereby unnerving Xia Jingyan for the first time who forces her to spit out everything including blood from chewing on that mixture. When novel-Feng Suige saw this, he was unnerved by Fu Yixiao. In the novel, Fu Yixiao did this deliberately in front of Feng Suige. I have a theory as to why drama-Xiyang intentionally kissed Xia Jingyan in such a state, after he taunted her.
Despite being driven by anger against Xia Jingshi, she wants to protect Susha, and hence decides to do what she can. She knows her brother would never harm her father. And if she needs an army to kill the Zhuangs, what better way than to make Xia Jingyan marry her? Finally the Feng that her family needs, during these circumstances. Poor Xiyang.
Fatal Hearts: One arrow, five families, two kingdoms, 28 episodes, and too many pauses during 90 minutes later (spoilers for episodes 27, 28 and 30, plus kudos to the writers for clearly keeping the novel in mind )-
I think you might have to put this post under a spoiler tag or change the descriptions of Ma Qiuyuan's scene.…
I'll help with that! Consider joining us at the Heart-attack page (that's what it will be, in less than 3 hours' time). From Fated Hearts to Fatal Hearts, this drama is clearly doing its own lethal version of Game of Thrones.
Directors and screenwriters have done a very good job of novel adaptation for Fated Hearts. Too bad they weren't in charge of TJOL D:

Can't wait to see how the writers give the leads their happy ending as per the novel, but perhaps with one difference.

Xiyang has made herself a justifiable termination target for Xia Jingshi, due to what Xiyang does in the episode 30 preview.
