The red hydrangeas in 3:27 of episode 10 are beautifully apt. Kudos to the director for it. Having watched up to episode 14 (thoughts in spoiler comment below):
TJOL was #1 in drama charts because concurrent hit dramas like This Thriving Land and Moonlit Reunion have aired…
I totally agree with your opinions. The data is much appreciated. I believe the difference in numbers is because a significant number of viewers noticed what I noticed (but I persisted in watching to the end, because I have never seen a drama in such a situation before): https://kisskh.at/profile/Xiang83/review/497878
Sadly TJOL couldn't be saved from itself given what happened in production and post-production, and then Cheng Yi got hammered unfairly for TJOL's problems. I felt rather bad for the cast.
Tysm ❤️ I just watched that scene and came here to leave a comment . It’s still in my mind! Glad I also…
As to what happened, after Wu Xie woke up- I don't see bromance in this drama this far but given how certain scenes have been shot, I am sure FVs like this one incorporating the underwater scene and a bit of AI plus Wu Xie waking up after that = 瓶邪 is definitely going to heat up with this team for the next few seasons
I agree with you that this is Cheng Yi's weakest role. As to why, my opinion is far more technical in terms of…
I believe you meant well in your comment, but part of your comment was misconstrued.
My guzheng teacher asked me what the drama was like (they had not started watching). I simply replied that whatever flaws are noted in the drama, I won't fault the actors and actresses because the storytelling and editing is horrendous, and the camerawork is not helping in the first two episodes. And the lines. Yikes.
Very helpful review indeed I struggled to watch this show… so will just ffwd to last few episodes where I am…
I am sure a lot of people fast-forwarded or felt drowsy or fell asleep, throughout this series. The storytelling approach and editing is appalling, when these are the two most crucial aspects. Cheng Yi's lines are boring but once again, these are lines that he was scripted to deliver. Unless he can resort to ad hocs and they are officially approved for at least half his lines, the poor chap has zero chance of making Xiao Qiushui sound like a memorable inspiring leader of the pugilist world. It was so weird to watch so many distinguished pugilists back him up to such an extent, when those were the lines he was sharing. He deserves to have contrasts with suitable matching lines for his different scenes, by turns playful and serious.
I heard about and saw many other issues including damaged props, exposed wires, modern yellow umbrellas etc These are not on the actors/actresses but the production team and post-production team. Unless there is proper justification for why so many errors were not removed or rectified before the final version aired, that is sloppy production and post-production.
Now that the series is finally over, and the diverse reviews we can finally move on. For me this was a difficult…
I agree with you that this is Cheng Yi's weakest role. As to why, my opinion is far more technical in terms of where and how the production process and post-production process was screwed up by various members of the crew, specifically the directors and screenwriters: https://kisskh.at/profile/Xiang83/review/497878
Ep 9 was already giving me a lot of dust in my eyes, in how Zhang Yishan was reacting over the actress for Hongyu.…
Episode 12 was much-needed relief. Ding Yi as Gu Yangshan's wingman was beyond hilarious. I am not ready to take the tension of episodes 13 and 14 today.
Still wordless at the likes of Li Bo Yao in episode 11 going further than episode 10 (once again, stellar performance from supporting cast member): https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5215828158451799
and what's annoying is that they always think that a drama is boring just because it's not romance.
"The Guardians" is a currently-airing Republican-era spy espionage thriller whereby the 2MLs and FLs are highly commendable. I've watched 12 episodes. 7 episodes are free on Youtube. Maybe give this a shot?
Skill issue.I really enjoyed the adventure AND I'm shipping them. It's possible to do both. <3
I am enjoying this far more than Ultimate Note because the developments of their closeness as friends is seamlessly improving, their development as individuals fascinates me, and the story developments of adventuring here is less messy and disorganised than Ultimate Note. Frankly, I don't actually understand the bromance tag for this drama, because I don't think it applies here yet. That said, I can see how certain scenes are fun for some viewers in being open to interpretation possibly for future bromance.
I like XZX and CX as the dynamic duo of adventurers willing to protect each other. I like SGCY here for being less annoying as Wang Pangzi than the other actor in Ultimate Note. But ultimately, I wish there was more of Francis Ng and Cao Lei.
Wait till you get to Episode 12. You'll want romance and crack up simultaneously, where Han Dongjun is concerned (but as to the exact details and people involved, you'll have to watch it first). Zhang Yishan is tops in it.
I wonder if she ever enjoyed her status as his consort at any point, because she did not seem to have any positive…
Exactly. Only years of conditioning (whereby someone is used to a half-naked guy wandering daily around the home most of the time and when one is usually at home) might result in being completely comfortable seeing a half-naked guy under any circumstances.
I have friends of different cultures and stripes from many countries, and all the females have one thing in common, regardless of how liberal they may be (and also above the age of 30, I can't comment for those under that age since I don't have enough interactions with them): If not mentally and emotionally prepared to see any guy regardless of familial blood or marriage ties being topless, the reaction is usually abrupt and embarrassed, followed by a quick admonishment to put some clothes on.
This FL is not used to being treated like a sex object and plaything, feeling vengeful and wanting revenge. She is indulging her emotions on this subject after rebirth, but her better side is also coming through. Makes for a compelling character. I believe she is being kinder and more mature than her age on this subject, because in her place I would want to do something nasty to Jun Che that would most likely result in a visible physical scar of sorts he could never erase.
And if you like strong acting with a stellar cast and well-paced plot, "The Guardians" is a currently-airing Republican-era spy espionage thriller whereby the 2MLs and FLs are highly commendable. I've watched 11 episodes. 7 episodes are free on Youtube:
Tian Hao as Li Bo Yao is borderline manic and appallingly efficient in achieving aims, and what a performance he gave in an action-packed episode. Watching Ding Yi hit Gu Yangshan because Gu Yangshan allowed it for specific reasons, and then Gu Yangshan picking up that gun- Zhang Yishan's acting is already highly-laudable, but Elvis Han is also hitting it out of the ballpark. He goes from appearing defeated and ashamed, to suddenly switching mode and making Ding Yi wary, and then with an unexpected touch of humour- These two guys cannot stand each other at times, but their need to survive and win for the sake of what is at stake sees them playing off each other magnificently.
