A drama that tells about this kind of love, any sexual scene will be only an icing on the cake (for those who want to see that kind of scenes), but unneeded. Not to mention, not everyone like to watch those sexual scenes between the same gender.

In my opinion, your opponent actor/actress is very important in making you can act to your depth. In acting, both leads should feed each other so they can reach the highest potential together.

Perhaps, Zhang Zhe Han just clicked with Gong Jun and vice versa. Not to mention good script and director.

I checked Advance Bravely for Gong Jun. But his acting there is bad. And I cannot sense the chemistry. It is too cheesy and superficial.

Agreed!! I am now eating Wen Ke Xing video in bilibili. In the whole series, not even once his appearance fails. He looked handsome throughout. No wonder there is a comment in douban saying that the one that can beat this episode Wen Ke Xing beauty is the next episode Wen Ke Xing.

Sometimes when I watch other drama, in a couple of episodes, the appearance of the leads would fail a bit (either by exhaustion that cannot be masked by make up or just a face bad day).

But he is indeed very handsome. And even in his casual photo of when he was a teenager (which I take should be without make up), he was still that handsome man that I know of in this drama. Not to mention the tall body posture and body ratio (his leg is long).

Zhang Zhe Han is indeed surprising me here. I am familiar with him from The Legend of Yunxi but I didn't really like his acting there. But his Zhao Zhi Su is very good, especially in the later episodes.

Gong Jun ...... this is my first drama of him. And I am mind-blown with his visual. He is so so handsome. And I watched this youtube video depicting his appearance from 1 year old to 28 year olds. His appearance practically unchanging ever since he was a teenager. Other actors usually has some changes because of make up or weight loss which led them become better in term of appearance. But he is not. I am just ..... wow.

Finish watching the raw yesterday night. This is certainly a very good adaptation in my opinion. It is indeed deviate here and there compared with the original novel, but I think the adaptation makes the story richer and more emotionaly engaging. I like the acting and I feel that the chemistry as a whole (not only between lead) is also very good.

Story wise, I do love this kind of mature relationship. Finally I can be relieved from damsel in distress, entitled FL in this drama. These days, I quite liking this kind of drama of BL adaptation. From my experience reading novel, BL in china is different from the one in Japan or Thailand. The one in China usually put more emphasize in love that goes beyond sexual boundary. It is kind depicting a love between two soul that resounding with each other. And this kind of love does not always end up in "romance" and goes beyond gender.

Immortality novel is so very very good. The only BL novel that can bring me to tears reading it. I hope the drama adaptation will do it justice. Not to mention we will have Luo Yun Xi there. At the very least, the acting skill should be guaranteed ...... And I heard Chen Fei Yu acting was quite good too in Ever Night.

The mutual relationship in WoH is so refreshing. Not to mention, it is not often that we will have lead such as Wen Ke Xing who bordering in good and evil.

I remember reading in the novel that the witch (Wu Xi) commenting even Zhao Zi Su in his full power will not be able to win against Wen Ke Xing if they are truly fighting.

Exactly my thought when I read the novel. The novel plot more or less is revolving around Wen Ke Xing revenge. Zhao Zhi Su is just like "go with the flow" kind of character in the novel.

But, the people who dislike how the drama put more importance to Wen Ke Xing plot, call themselves as novel reader. I .... kind of confused and then just resigning myself that perhaps I am the one who are biased because I read the novel after watch the drama.

I really hope they will choose a real actor and not just idol because of traffic. WoH is the proof that a drama can be successful without having to depend on fans brought by idol. There are lots of handsome actor out there with a real acting skill.

They are stranger by the time of Mirror Lake extermination. But, the action of Cheng Ling toward Wen Ke Xing is after they know each other. The weight is different. He could hate Wen Ke Xing, but to just directly ask for his blood while knowing that his father more or less had blood debt toward Wen Ke Xing, in my opinion just an arrogance that his family can do to others but other can never do anything toward his family. This is my opinion of course, and I very well know this kind of ideal thought will be difficult to be done in real life. Still, since this is my principal, I dislike Cheng Ling character here.

Zhang Cheng Ling action for certain is can be understood, from his POV. But, for Zhao Zhi Su to act like nothing and still treat him the same is impossible. The second Cheng Ling chooses to kill Wen Ke Xing, he must be ready to give up any relationship with Zhao Zhi Su as well. Zhao Zhi Su might be understanding and not kill him in return but to still act as master and disciple? No way. In ancient time, the relationship between master and disciple is as close as father and son. There is just no way that Zhao Zhi Su can act intimate again with Cheng Ling. The shadow of Wen Ke Xing blood will always stand between them.

Thankfully Wen Ke Xing survives in the end. If not, then Cheng Ling will bore the guilt for his entire live after knowing the truth. In my opinion, Cheng Ling is too rash and in his naivety just easily trust people. The fact that Zhao Jing colludes with Scorpion King should warn him to beware toward that man.

Despite understanding his reasoning, if I was Zhao Zhi Su, I don't think I would be able to look Cheng Ling the same again after this. Cheng Ling is just too pure and naive. I think he still cannot comprehend the sin five lake alliance toward Wen Ke Xing family.

Hahahahahaha!! I am keeping Thousand Autumns (both donghua and novel) for later read and watch. At least I have something to take my mind away from WoH after it ends.

Based on lots of trailer and tidbits I have watched, Wen Ke Xing will be presumed dead and Zhao Zhi Su will more or less loss his will to live. I cannot wait to see how Cheng Ling will face his master later on after his action here. Especially after he knows that Zhao Jing is the real culprit.

Make a grave mistake by watching this while I am still at work .....

Pretty much agree with your assessment here. The Untamed bored me in the middle (and I was someone who was familiar with the novel and liking it) unfortunately. And the acting quality is the major difference in my opinion. I have no qualms toward people who are satisfied with The Untamed acting, but I found the acting was quite lacking.

The problem is the novel Zhao Zhi Su does not really have any aims either, as I read it. The plot is more or less driven by Wen Ke Xing revenge stratagem. The drama already adds something about Window of Heaven and the relationship between Zhao Zhi Su and Prince Jin. In the novel, as far as I remember, there is no mention of Window of Heaven ever take action in the story period.

Ummm, since I have only read the novel after start watching the drama, I might be biased in my view. The shixiong-shidi is not bothered me that much for now. But I do agree with you regarding Zhao Zhi Su characterization. I think the core problem is that as a character the current Zhao Zhi Su paled compared with Wen Ke Xing. Meaning that the aura is lacking.

From the very start when I watch this drama, I feel there are discrepancy in Zhao Zhi Su characterization before and after he takes off his mask. And the pace of him mellowing is too abrupt. Different with Wen Ke Xing; from the beginning until now, he is still that crazy fellow with childlike naivety in cruelty. His mellowing does not change his craziness, but just because we finally see he opens up to Zhao Zhi Su on what is truly lie beneath that facade. Therefore, Wen Ke Xing character looks more grounded than Zhao Zhi Su.
