Already on my watch list. Perhaps this weekend. I hope the drama will release new episodes fast because 61 episodes is quite a lot and have a risk of draggy in the middle. I am afraid I will loss my interest by then. Well but L&R also 59 episodes, hahahaha

It ended already? Okay, will try speed watching by the weekend along with watching Promise of Chang'An. By the way, anybody know how many episodes this drama will release each week?

Oh Maiden Holmes is that good? I only watched a little bit here and there. But cannot really get into it when L&R still airing. I always ends up comparing the male lead acting ......

Trailer is very interesting and I am prepared to ditch the romance and only concentrate on Cheng Yi character in this drama (since I feel that the romance in this drama will get me so annoyed). I am already so full regarding romance thanks to L&R.

I am pretty sure. The scene looks like Si Feng room in Li Ze Palace after he became chief.

I also love Li Ze Palace. Really hope the drama shows the sect open again an about. I am annoyed with Shao Yang until the end. Still doubt Xuan Ji father sincerity in accepting Si Feng demon identity. Moreover, he must have know who Si Feng really is by now. So, his thought might be biased.

Somehow I find that actor really showed his ability in acting just when he was about to hit or already 30 years old. Most of the young actors (20s years old) cannot act and only sell pretty face.

Hmm, I think the drama has two wedding night scenes. One is at the Li Ze Palace (as shown in that video). The other is at their humble house in South. Perhaps they choose the scene in the South. Sad, because I really want to see Li Ze Palace return

Based on the trailer I have a bad feeling regarding the female lead. I think it would be the usual female character that acts cold and strong but actually is damsel in distress. Something like Zhao Lu Si character in Three Thousand Crow (or something).

But I will give the drama chance because I like Cheng Yi character there. I will try to close one eye to the romance and just focus on male lead.

Yea, in the trailer Cheng Yi character looks very interesting. I will watch for him. Romance can go to hell. Love to see Liu Yi Huan and Wu Zhi Qi, too

I am gonna try the Promise of Chang'An. The trailer gives me Nirvana in Fire vibe. Have little to no expectation in romance department though. Seems it would only another female lead character that I am annoyed to.

Same. I have mix feeling regarding tomorrow. In one hand, I am happy because finally I get to see the ending. But on the other hand I am sad to loss this entertainment. Not ready to watch other drama.

I get the feeling that drama will drive me crazy, too. Not because of its romance, but because of the story itself. From the trailer, I cannot get the romance at all. The female lead is too cold

Ah, finally this discussion come here in MDL. I have mentioned in other forum that I dreaded Yuan Bing Yuan acting when the time come for female lead acted in angst scene. Not that I have something against her, but because based on what I have seen from her acting Snow Tower, she is not ready yet.

Cheng Yi is a surprise for me here. I have only watched him a little bit in The Lost Tomb 2, so I cannot really appraise his acting skill (I have not yet finished watching that drama). His Si Feng is perfect (I cannot find better praise). From the beginning of the drama until now, his Si Feng was able to maintain this kind of aura that made you felt his pain. Cheng Yi was able to exude this aura everytime on screen, not just when he interacted with Xuan Ji but with everyone. Even when he was masquerading as MSX, we kind of felt his dilemma, his sacrifical love to Xuan Ji, his inner pain. It is something that cannot be explained.

Perhaps that the most of viewers is woman is the reason that he is more popular than Yuan Bing Yuan, but not because we woman prefer male or anything like that. I believe we female lot also can sympathize with the female character. Problem is because we are woman, we by nature are more sensitive of this aura thing. So, the actor/actress that able to exude this aura will win our heart. This is where Cheng Yi win out compared with Yuan Bing Yuan.

Yuan Bing Yuan acting for early Xuan Ji was perfect in my opinion. After watching a couple of Zhao Lu Si drama (sorry, no offense to her fans), I was relieved when I watch that Yuan Bing Yuan was able to make Xuan Ji naive but not annoying. Xuan Ji was really adorable in the beginning. But, as the story move on, the ability to exude sadness became necessity. Xuan Ji was too unstable in her sadness and guilt aura after the moment of truth. Sometimes she showed it, sometimes she didn't. I don't mean that she should not smile or anything but she needed to show that she was not okay inside. She improved later on in episode 50+ in my opinion. But people has already felt discomfort watching her acting in earlier episodes.

In Ashes of Love, there was a Run Yu vs Xu Feng debate thing in the internet. About who was more deserving of female lead. I believe lots of people in Run Yu side was not because his character was that noble or something but because Luo Yun Xi acting was that convincing and good, so his character resound with people heart.

I applause him big time. Tired with the whole Shao Yang.

To be honest, I find this problem in almost all chinese actress that I have watched. They mainly have problem in emoting a devastated feeling, a sadness so great that you feel like dying. From the beginning of this drama, I have been dreaded the moment when it is the female lead turn to do the angst scene because I have never found an actress that really excel in this kind of thing.

Compared with Cheng Yi, Yuan Bing Yuan paled in comparison when they were in angst scene. However, her acting is more or less acceptable. Not excellence, but acceptable enough. I have seen worse ......

I am actually glad that she didn't get many close up for that scenes. Sometimes I find it disturbing when she failed to display great emotional pain. If that was done in close up, the result would be worse.

Hmm, based on Yang Zi performance in Ashes of Love, I say that Yuan Bing Yuan didn't do any worse than her. Zhao Li Ying, I am only familiar with Journey of Flower (she was good there, but I cannot say that she will excel to if she was in Yuan Bing Yuan shoes). Li Yitong, I am not familiar with her work.
