Wow, due to your comment. I will put this on my list to watch, I've been spectacle and put off by this drama due to the concept, and reading in depth reviews. Though after reading your review, the ML and FL's relationship seem to be worth the watch. I'll also be anticipating the amazing chemistry everyone is consistently bringing up.

I'll just mentally prepare for the other BS and skip plenty to save the headache if necessary.

Nah.. THIS WAS GOOD. Through and through. I always get a bit spectacle with historical Chinese dramas as sometimes it tends to derail for too long, escalate last minute or just downright all over the place despite having such a strong beginning or middle. BUT THIS! Loved it.

The ML and FL relationship flowed well, and developed so beautifully especially since both are so intuitive and intelligent. They had all kinds of love; sibling love, romance love.. and eternal love. Very mature! Conflicts didn't take long to resolve between them.

The side couples were good too. Lots of great writing here.
I'll give this a 9.5 or 10/10. WOULD recommend!!

I can’t ever watch this again even if I truly want to. Maybe months or years later. Its so heavy, its so deep and relatable. So good, and so real.

I love their love. Its pure, its respectful, its balanced and raw as well as with so much depth. The ML and FL truly loved one another. They may not have been perfect parents but no one is, they did everything they could for their children and themselves hence why they were good parents.

This is so reflective of life. It called me out on my own, you have to look at things from your loved one’s perspective—sometimes words and actions are conveyed differently. Show your gratitude to your parents, don’t take them for granted despite not always being on the same page.

The father / ML is my favorite character in the whole world. Like in all of Dramas.

You seem hypocritical. Lowering the ratings is also people's choices and opinions. And it is hateful, to insult others and also being xenophobic to a group of people. Not only hateful but it is also disgusting. Being hateful, ignorant and xenophobic although an opinion is still WRONG OPPINION and also telling someone how they should feel when something DIRECTLY affects them or their culture, identity, country etc. is also a wrong opinion.

It's not 2 or 3 Individuals, it was a ton of them. Maybe many were reported but it was a cesspool before. I couldn't even believe what I was reading. As this is the first time I've seen such rancid comments in MyDrama.

Also me bringing up the fact that there are these comments and bringing light to the issue is necessary despite if I blocked them. I didn't engage with them, as you see I've made my own comment.

The drama for me had a rough start but really liked as I continued to watch, the last episode however ruined the entire thing for me.

To say that this site or any form of literature, arts and media is non-political means that you have NO GRASP of reality nor do you have ANY media literacy. Life is literally political in its essence. Politics is created by societal beliefs and views.

1) If you are not educated on the matter or even understand the depth and history of what people are talking about yet feel the need to tell those educated people or those effected by the propaganda in the show HOW TO FEEL, then I suggest you either comment on the show ONLY and do not address these people. Leave them alone and let them speak out against their injustice. They are owed that. This is not about you, this is bigger than you.

2) Two things can be true at the same time. This is not rocket science, this drama could be somewhat alright and people are allowed to like or dislike it, AND it is 100% inappropriate what they did in the last episode.

3) I am seeing a large amount of disgusting xenophobic comments towards Muslims and not to mention appraisal of a certain terrorist country starting with I. (AGAIN IF YOU HAVE NOT READ OR KNOW ANY HISTORY, DO NOT EVEN BOTHER RESPONDING TO THIS 3rd NOTION).

4) If you are annoyed at these 'politics' and the ratings going down then you DO NOT HAVE ANY MORAL COMPASS. This is the least of anyone issues with actual REAL WORLD ISSUES.

Please I suggest many of you to read books, be kind and sympathetic and understand things between the lines. I know anti-intellectualism is ramped especially in the US where I'm from but it will open up your eyes and thought process!!

There are valid reasons to dislike her. She is quick to jump to assumptions, doesn't understand the scope of a situation but somehow has the right to judge or threaten him with various things. She literally lacks the knowledge of some of the decisions made outside of her expertise and eye view because ofc she's suppose to be a regular worker. She makes him unethically disclose private information etc. She only explains herself after he initiates the apology then has to apologize herself because of her lack of wisdom while being impulsive. I'm not saying the ML was a saint but it was unbearable to put up with her character. It's shame because it could have been such a good show.

This is an awful drama. One of the worst I've ever come upon. The logic is nonexistent, the characters seem to have amnesia or forgive the most heinous stuff. Too many evil characters and victims never learn, only become slower.. I just don't understand. It's more so infuriating then enjoyable or even a good plot. literally 0/10. This is the first time I had ever done a 0. Geez and I'm only on episode 6. From reading the reviews, it only gets worse and so I am dropping this hot garbage of a show.

It's unfortunate but this drama loss its potential due to the script and how the female lead was written. It was a real shame. The FL was impulsive in jumping into conclusions and often become illogical bringing in her feelings or having odd stances towards him and his work, which unprofessional of her especially when she doesn't understand the full scope of the dilemma and things out of her expertise. Some of her concerns are valid and you can sometimes understand her motive when it comes to herself. However at other people like the ML, it's like she does all irrational things. She's very immature as well.. I'm on episode 7 and I seriously have come to my wits end.

It really is a shame because the side characters and just the plot could have really spiraled into something amazing. Wish I dropped sooner 4/10.

Definitely plot holes. I pick up on most of the foreshadowing but can't get myself to continue. Well.. because of your comment, I may wait for when it finishes to pick it back up again. I'm a lil put off my by it now. Thanks!

People seem addicted to romanticizing everything... maybe they're so into the idea that this is just fantasy/fiction? Because to even want this kind of relationship or to fall in love with such a person who tortured you must mean that you're sick...or deranged?

No matter his past. It doesn't negate his actions and he chose to do a lot of despicable sht. And again doesn't make sense for him to be a love interest to the FL. It's deranged thinking.
