Title Confidence Queen Spoiler
For some reasons, people don’t like PMY and this type of genre that has no romance is not popular in MDL
I don’t want to start anything but you can scrolled down to see or go to her page. I have enjoyed her dramas for a while and she brings a lot of nuances to her acting since Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

You know when it will get too much hype ? When it will win GL of the year. And then ,you and everyone that trash…
I will admit that there's some bias to my comment, but a couple points.

I didn't say ShellyPundao had the best chemistry, I've seen better. I said SOME of the best, that one word makes a major difference to my statement.

It seems that you missed some of the more subtle pacing they used in this show. Pure only ever painted Air, and after her first trip to Lofts beach resort, she came home and started painting Loft. She also opened up more and more to Loft as the episodes went on. She didn't fully realize that she was actually falling for Loft, but the signs were there for a lot of episodes that Loft was becoming less of a casual thing and more of an actual love for Pure, so I don't agree with it being a "we're only casual then suddenly I'm in love with you" type situation.

I also agreed that they used a lot of slomo. It might have bothered me more if Only You wasn't also airing right now, but there is no doubt that Only You abused slomo scenes a lot more than Roller Coaster.

I also said it wasn't a masterpiece. I wasn't saying this was the the top GL, and I don't think it is. I also think you are looking at this show with a bias. It's not a 10/10 show and it's not perfect, but you rated this a 3? You're commenting that it's "mid" and not horrible, yet you rated it like you think it's an absolute trash show.

You also said that you watched Only You, yet you never commented anything about how the "film geek in you" had issues with that show, when there's way more production problems with it than Roller Coaster has. The only explanation is your bias is showing way more than the people that actually like this show

TLDR, No it's not a masterpiece, but it's way better than most of the GLs that came out this year.

I don't think this was "The greatest show ever" but compared to a lot of other GLs I've watched this year, it was really well done imo. I'll use your 4 points.

1 Acting... Yes, the acting was a little lacking, but it's actually the very first credit of 2 of the mains, the only one with prior experience is the one you didn't have a problem with. Shelly and Pundao were good enough to be believable, and have the talent to become great with experience.

2 Chemistry... ShellyPundao chemistry is OUTSTANDING. They have some of the best chemistry out of all the love teams. There's more famous couples that have less chemistry together than them. Even with Neko, Shelly has good sister chemistry with her and Pundao has good chemistry with her. I could easily see Pundao and Neko being a love team if Shelly wasn't in the picture.

3 Storytelling.... I really like this story and didn't notice any major discrepancies. I didn't read the novel, but haven't seen any "This isn't like the novel!!!" posts, so I'm assuming it was pretty true to the source material. The story was pretty consistent pacing and plot wise all throughout, so I don't see how there is an issue here. Someone can not like the story, but it doesn't mean they didn't do a good job with the storytelling.

4 Production... The production was well above average for the GLs that I've seen this year. It absolutely wasn't perfect, and yeah there were a lot of slomo scenes, but there was way less than some other shows. There also weren't any glaring continuity errors or ridiculously extreme edits, lighting, etc that I could see.

And I dont give a shit about any awards shows. I've never seen or even looked at the winners of Thai ones, but in America, it's not just the People's Choice awards that are popularity contests. Grammys, Oscars, Emmys, all of them are popularity contests and mean nothing, the only difference between them is who it's popular with. There's movies that only 1 in 10 people have seen, and that one person usually thinks it was meh at best but it wins a ridiculous amount of awards because it checks all the boxes for the judges of that award show. I don't think awards mean as much to the general populace as they used to. Real life audience ratings and reviews are held to a higher standard than critics anymore

are you WallyBear and BeeBeeAnn the same person? 😅 Cause it looks like it...
I'm just saying. I wanted to know what type of media do you enjoy, but you (and the other two account that I mentioned) have new a account (all made around the same time) and only two series - this one and Queendom (love this one btw)...
I'm not even disagreeing with you that this series is lacking, was genuinely curious what else did you watched, but this look suspicious

I just manage to catch up with this show before the big final and can somebody tell me why in hell it'doesn't have higher rating? It's one of the most mature, natural, best shot GLs. I don't want to sound like hater but Harmony Secret with its weak second half sits at 8.3.

Wow the gl I was most sceptical about has tied with 2 other GL on the number 1 spot, Can't believe it's both loft and pure's 1st drama ever. Air didn't bother me much, thou the last episode was a bit off, off as in the drama was going too smoothly but last 10 min were rough and that's why I didn't gave it a 9, I was sure to give it a 9 if they didn't break up near the end. happy they are together, hoped for them getting married. but I have seen many drama that went bad after the near end break ups, considering that, i wasn't bothered about it at all
so cheers to loft and pure you have joined my TOP #1 GL
tying with US and PETRICHOR. THANKYOU HOPE TO SEE MORE OF THEM IN THE FUTURE
GOOD NIGHT 😴

Like they already chose each other and someone would have gotten hurt either way so what was the point of Loft leaving after Pure chose her and then coming back 2 years later and another unexplained time skip to tell us they are meeting the parents. I guess it stayed true to its name after all.

This was indeed a rollercoaster of a drama. It didn't caught my attention at first, because of the generic premise of the plot. Then, it lured me in with stellar cinematography and a promise of intense melodrama. In the end it left me wanting more, but I am still satisfied enough to give it thumps up.

This is more grown-up GL series. No cringe moments, no unfunny comedy, no rubber stretching sound effects. Even the melodrama is not so over the top soapy. It's more subdued, natural and engaging, and this is something that has been missing for me in Thai Gls. I hope we will get more shows of this quality in the future.

It has generic plot with love triangle, but the fun part of it are flawed characters. Selfish, blind by pain and/or need for love. It's interesting to watch characters creating a mess they don't know how to escape from. It's an acquired taste of fun, but it is fun! At the same time, I feel like there was a lot of wasted potential in that area. The final reveal should have happened sooner because only after that all the juicy pieces about guilt, choices and moving forward came out (and we got like 10 minutes of that because the last episode was a mess). This is something I wanted to see more - being stuck between what you want and what you supposed to do - yet the only one who delivered dillemma on a level I expected was Air (Neko's acting probably helped, too).

The writing was not the best, but the overall vibe really captivated me. It's somewhat melancholic and cold, but also bold, intriguing and realistic. Visual-wise it's amazing. I also enjoyed the music. Good show, but I don't think it's for everyone.

The breakup makes sense in a way because they both needed time to get over the guilt and hurt of what they did…
I agree. I’m completely fine with the breakup because they felt guilty and everyone needed time to heal. In my opinion the perfect ending would have been when pure is out eating and turns around to see loft she has that huge smile on her face loft says hello pure while also smiling the music hits the end.

1-7 was an easy 9.5. After ep 8, I'm giving it a 9.
The breakup makes sense in a way because they both needed time to get over the guilt and hurt of what they did to Air, but 2 years seems way extreme for that. It should have been a couple months at most imo.

They also should have extended the happy ending more, or removed it entirely. When the credits rolled the first time with Pure looking over and smiling in a way to make it obvious she saw Loft, I think that would have been a better ending than a short post credit scene and that's it. Open Ended or Happy Ending that's more than 2 minutes would have been way better than what they wound up doing imo.

Lol finally and unbiased review.. Folks just seem so biased in these comments. Calling Loft a green flag. The Girl…
I wasn't mostly talking about the novel though. It's literally in the show.

I'll never argue against the point of Loft being Air's sister-in-law. Also, who said Pure's heart was open? Pure telling Air no one could replace her doesn't have to mean that she's still in love with her. Air was literally her first love. Like I said, if Pure was still so in love with Air, Loft would've never stood a chance. Period.

I still would love to know how Loft took Pure from Air. I would love to know how you steal a person.

Anyway, I won't argue cause I know it's a waste of time. Pure and Loft are to blame, blah blah. I know this script by heart now. Let's just agree to disagree.

Have a good one 👍

Pure and Air were never going to get back together because they were always doomed from the start. Air's family was the main obstacle in their relationship above all else and Air not knowing if when the time came she was going to be able to stand up to them (we saw how that went). It was something that was always there before the relationship had even started and when it came at the forefront, Air wanted Pure to just understand without understanding how Pure was feeling, and then she iced her out, which caused them to start drifting apart.

Trust and believe that before Loft even made her first appearance, Pure was already falling out of love. I had thought this before reading "Bittersweet," and it confirmed it. Air just wasn't willing to let her go, and because Air was all she knew, it just created further confusion, etc, especially when Loft came in. The whole thing was just a mess. They are a mess. Pure and Loft did start as casual, but I was able to see where it was going cause it was always there in the scenes together. No one "took" away anything because there was nothing to take, and it was very obvious. If Pure were still that same person from 3 years ago, there is no way Loft would've been given an inch.

I appreciate the novel and series because I ain't seen this before in a GL, and this happens in real life. I loved how real this situation was.

I'm glad that they were all able to grow, move on, and find love again. The maturing part was messy as well, but they all did it, and I'm proud of all of them.
