Petition for Bai Lu to star in a drama as a queen 👑 That queen makeup… I’m DEAD ✨ In all my experience watching C-dramas, I’ve never seen such exquisite queen makeup, and the attire absolutely ate everything up.
I delayed and delayed watching this drama because I really wanted to have enough time to enjoy the whole thing due to the very "intense" shorts with Zhang Ling He...
But the drama turned out very different than what I expected. I went in for the romance but it's way WAY more political than I thought. Not bad, just not what I signed up for when I decided to watch it...
It's your usual political backstabbing with court ladies being just as nasty as some male characters...
It's just the FL's mother that I just can't stand for the life of me. I'm sure everything is gonna be forgotten because " she cares about her daughter and she just has this habit of saying the opposite of what she thinks" or something... You're the parent, behave like one.

Whether you watch or not (the drama's main selling point is their lead couple. They have a good enemies-lovers dynamic with good visuals and chemistry. If you like them based off fan edits or the first few episodes, then you can continue to watch just for them only.)
However, my warning is for the user named "SonGKangDeek" that replied to you. That guy is a classic uncouth low life troll who has repeatedly used extremely crass language to harass actresses and attack them personally. He's also a jobless bitter basement dweller- because he's apparently been consistently active on this page for about 2+ years.
I am on episode 4, and I really like the two leads. The FL is not as expressive as I would have liked, but I will just accept that as a part of her character. Not everyone is super expressive in real life either. Not everyone has 50% extra facial muscles like Shin Hye-sun has either.
The ML is cute, but I gotta say he is more of a Goblin/Dokkaebi than a demon, so far. Until I see the ML torture someone to death like Justitia/Kang Bit-na, he is a cuter, less depressed version of Kim Shin to me.
Anyways, the FL's "I am my bodyguard's bodyguard" line was fire [especially keeping in consideration she is scared for her life, so putting herself at risk for someone she does not know well was a great showcase of her appreciation for the ML], and the tango fight scene was lovely and fun!
I hope their romance pays off, because... what I dislike about this krama so far is that over 50% of the characters are nasty chaebol asshats, with some creepy Silence of the Lambs motherfucker to top it off. Oh my god, what is with kramas and the obsession with chaebol shit and serial killers.
This was a very interesting series that held my attention from beginning to end. At first, the story seemed as though it might become an ordinary girl meets boy...or better said....girl meets demon, girl falls in love with demon...love story. But as the story unfolds, the twists and turns, the subplots and side stories, create a world of fantastic imagination embellished with beautiful imagery.
I will make this review short and to the point. It was beautifully scripted. The juxtaposition of the present with the Joseon period of Korea gave the series an unexpected...and masterfully crafted...depth.
There will always be people who cruelly criticize....berate....brilliant series. Perhaps such vitriol gives them a sense of unbridled power over the actors. Perhaps it gives them a sense of ultimate control not only over the production but of the world of viewers themselves. For whatever illogical reasons these people choose to dismantle works of cinematic art, just ignore them. If the trailer beckons you, follow it...follow the series to its end. You will not regret my advice.
There was nothing that vexed me as much as Gu-Won still remaining a demon which meant that he wouldn't age, so he'll be incredibly young while Do-Hee ages to her death??? How's that horror movie romantic?
Decided there was no bad guy to drag on 2 more episodes?? Why don't we just resurrect the dead guy and give him a little whip? Not crying enough?? Have the bad guy released from under the freaking blocks so he could shoot our star girl to her death and then Gu-Won would inevitably go up in flames, pitifully while my favourite track hums!!!
I'm having a hard time understanding why Kee's mother would leave her ... TO BE RAISED BY MEK. I don't know if she should be so easily forgiven. The show should've had a paternal grandmother or some other family figurehead.

Why does everyone hate Faye so much? I really liked Blank (especially Season 2) and Broken of Love.
it's the shippers of the ship from blank who hate her and the other person's fans.
because Faye was mistreated in the company that did blank(not given work, not told any future plans, sent to the company psychiatrist without her requesting so, and asked what she would do if the love team was to split), and elected to choose herself and left, the other actress chose to stay and ghosted Faye, which effectively broke up the love team. that other actress's fans despise Faye (always had), and the shippers of the love team blame her for everything.
Because of all that, Faye faces harassment on the daily. her work is being reported, (many of the tiktok live sellings have been reported to the chinese government as illegal and temporarily stopped causing Faye and the companies she collabo with, time and money. her own tiktok lives always reported as "causing discomfort" when she's just literally just vibing and talking to the fans.
her Fanmeets in China were regularly reported for "homosexuality" (imagine being a GL fan and reporting an openly queer woman to the police, how vile is that?) she lost a brand deal because of threats to the brand.
and of course who can forget that they mass reported the love scene part of the series to youtube and had it deleted, causing Fabel to have to work to hours after midnight, and try 5 different way to get the episode part back up and now it has a big blur, effecting the viewing enjoyment for the rest of us.
