Haven't watched this yet but been meaning to one day... ANYWAYS, we need Yangzi and Luo Yunxi as the main leads next, I swear, like c'mon... Both of them can act so well and I can imagine how greater their chemistry will be as a cp!! But yes... let's NOT make it so suffering like this lmaooo
Yunlong and Shanhu is such an underrated ship... Even after weeks of finishing the drama I'm still thinking about them haha they were the cutest duo~ and let's be honest... they were each other's soulmate, like there is rarely a scene where they weren't together, not to mention they're always in their blue & red, yin & yang outfits! I miss them so much aahhh bring them back to me! 🥺😭
Lol I just realized the 60 min duration needs to be changed to prob like 45 min since almost every ep is that long (except just the first few eps which were nearly an hour)...
I am a big fan of the ML. I started watching the first episode and it doesn't sound like it's his voice? I don't…
Huh? It sounds like him to me and I only watched him in The Double. It's definitely him. Also if you watched the special for TD you'll notice his voice sounds kinda different bc his original tone of speaking is kind of distinct too... But anyways, I can assure you this is his real voice. Also decided to try finding a video of him dubbing:
That's actually a good hypothesis~ 😯☝️✨I don't think he's YeSha but it's highly possible that someone…
Yeah he prob isn't Yesha but ig you never know! But dang there is definitely some connection btw him and the perpetrator at least! I mean, why does the beginning of ep 3 show us that the culprit looks like Wang Xingyue? I am sooo curious rn lol... Him being Yesha would be the biggest plot twist, a cool one but the worst possibility too... Anyways, these are the only three possibilites I can think of if his hidden side profile looks like Wang Xingyue or else I'm wrong with my speculation LOL
Don't think Julia Xiang does since her VA in LOTDT sounds the same to me
Lol I think you misread me~ I said I don't think she dubs herself bc ik she's dubbed in LOTDT and she has the same VA in both here and there. Also yes ik about the Baidu Baike :)
I only finished ep 2 and started ep 3 but dang you're telling me the suspect looks like Xiao Beiming (Wang Xingyue) to me? Wth is happening here... a double or what? 😭 (No spoilers pls btw hehe)
Edit: Some theories: Beiming is Yesha but another personality takes over him where he's unaware, someone pretends to be Beiming by wearing his face mask over his face (highly doubt it tho), evil twin / doppelganger... LMAO I'm just...
Dang are many ppl just Julia Xiang haters or what? This is sad like she's just getting popular after LOTDT... Have you seen her as Mu Qingge? She was so iconic as her. Anyways I hope ppl don't get influenced by all the negative comments and give it a try themselves. Plus, only 6 eps are out. Can't fully judge a drama based on just that many eps.
The fact that Julia Xiang and Wang Xingyue are both the same age tho makes me believe these two will have great chemistry! Excited to watch this~ Imma start now!
totally agree with you! it was hard to form an emotional connection to the characters for the reasons you listed.…
It's nice to know I'm not the only one feeling this way! I did like the characters but ig I wished I connected with them a bit more emotionally. As for the revenge, I would've just liked a nice balance of it as they go thru the cases~ It would've been sm more interesting!
Her revenge is to bring justice to her father and up hold what he want to doAlso, the title is coroner diary....so…
Lol I did ofc expect it to be mainly about cases due to the title but I also felt the word diary could also indicate about the leads' parents who also had their own diaries in a way (sorry my mind is just random ig lol) tho ofc it prob means the cases is like a diary haha... so anyways I just felt it would've been nice to balance both out evenly if yk what I mean ~ Just my opinion :) And thru choice of words, ig it depends if someone defends or not, and I totally get not everyone does :) I'd like to say that I still had some enjoyment watching this too~ there are just those iffy moments yk that can't be ignored, whether big or small :)
In the first scene of the drama, we were introduced to Shen Wan's parents, as well as Qin Wan's father, murdered as they try to escape from those people, while Qin Wan (Shen Wan) survives alone. And then we are introduced to her wanting revenge. It can make us viewers think this is what we will be focusing on for the enitre drama: Shen Wan's revenge for her family as well as Qin Wan and her family.
But as we get into the drama, we barely see the FL seeking for revenge at all but instead mostly solving cases which tbh did get kinda tiring. I definitely wanted to see more of her revenge being touched throughout the drama, kind of like The Double. It would've also been nice to see the real Qin Wan, yk... I find it super weird that they never showed us to her considering Shen Wan takes on her identity. Not even a case about her death, which was actually in the novel. The way they cut that important case out tho? Dang... That might've easily been one of the most important cases to cover on as it's about Qin Wan, the identity Shen Wan takes on for the entire drama.
And the leads. I do like them and how healthy they are as a couple, but I felt like they were too perfect, where we didn't get to see or watch them go thru hardships. I know they lost their families and stuff, which ofc they struggle in, but I wanted to see more raw emotions in this kind of conflict. I also felt that the drama made it seem like with their portrayal that they could solve the cases fast... I would've rather see maybe some struggles as they go thru the cases, and more suspense. I did find it refreshing tho watching the FL as a coroner. It was interesting. I also wouldn't even mind if the FL, for instance, failed at saving someone with her medical skills so we could maybe see a reaction from her for what it's like to not be able to save someone, but every time, she never fails in that aspect... But isn't part of medical also learning that you have to accept it when you can't save someone and not to blame yourself, for instance? I wanted to see a bit more raw emotions from the FL, that's all. Even for the revenge for her family as well. I guess I just wanted to feel more for the leads but didn't have that emotional connection due to the way their characters were portrayed?
Last but not least, I really enjoyed watching the second leads and the leads' disciple and maid. They were quite a fun squad. But then the drama sidelines them as we delve more into the drama (I don't rmr when but somewhere starting around the second half or last thirds of the drama). It was a bummer.
Special mentions The Moonlight Mystique reunion was such a highlight and a delight to see as I watched the drama. Did not know we needed a Fan Yue and Mu Jiu reunion as master and subordinate here (Yan Chi and Bai Feng). Who would've thought we'd get a reunion with Ling Long (Qin Shuang) as well? It was a bummer to not see her and Bai Feng interact at all however since they played as mother and son in MM. Then there's a lot more but I won't mention them all as it'll be long LOL
Note: Even if someone wants to defend this drama to me, my opinions still stand. I mean, I still enjoyed it in general, there were just some things that I couldn't really ignore as I watched. I am the type to read people's positive opinions as I often do read comments. So a positive opinion won't change my overall mind of the drama. After all, we are all different, right? There's no right in judging others' opinions on dramas, right?
