There are definitely many tragic ending Chinese historical dramas out there but I've only watched 20+ so not enough of it yet, but yes... This one is worse 😭 Good luck in watching it lol I remember crying BUCKETS even tho I already lowkey knew the ending 😔 At least at the end of FoF Yuanzhou actually gets a happy ending (his soul flying to Yichen already tells us this)~

Btw wow the fact that the MLs in both this drama and FoF are named Yuanzhou DANG okay 😂😂

And the fact that this is even worse than FoF oof except the way the deaths happened here makes more sense~ I still don't like the way Ying Lei was killed off... The writing was just not it for me... It didn't make sense, oh well 🙃

I don't actually watch BL and GL either I've only really watched censored ones (like The Untamed / Word of Honor) and lol see even you see the chemistry between the MLs and FLs lol no one has to even squint to see it hahaha I actually remember when this drama was airing and was shocked to see some people actually say they don't see it between Yuanzhou and Yichen bc like how do you not see it? Still surprised to this day bc their chemistry is electrifying! And right, I even see it between Wen Xiao and Pei Sijing xD

I can't even help but ship Yuanzhou and Yichen instead, and also Wen Xiao and Pei Sijing~ Bc when I look at all their personalities, with Yuanzhou being the more socializing one and Yichen being the quiet one, and the same for Wen Xiao being more socializing and Pei Sijing being more quiet, yes... Then seeing these two pairs interact with each other, I can't help but be like wow, how can I not ship them? xD

Lol I especially can't help but ship Yuanzhou and Yichen, not just bc of their personalities, but... there's smth about their story together, and their growing relationship, that hits different (you might get what I mean when you continue to watch since it looks like you're still early in the drama)! And in my subjective opinion, Yuanzhou looks like he really has liked Yichen since the beginning and Yichen has fallen harder... Nah, but honestly, these two... I'll leave it up to you xD

By some ep in the future you haven't seen yet, there's a scene that just makes it feel like Yichen (to Yuanzhou) and Pei Sijing (to Wen Xiao) like them... I was sad watching it on my first watch, but on my rewatch (recently), for some reason I couldn't help but laugh watching it lol idk what's up with me hahaha maybe bc the director is obviously trying to show us smth, and who can't see it? LOL (sorry, the scene I'm describing sounds confusing, idk, but maybe you'll know which one I'm talking about when you watch it? xD)

But honestly, I think these interactions, the chemistry we're seeing between them... Definitely does make the drama more enjoyable! It's up to us how we view these haha you can't even imagine how many scenes there are that people might actually interpret differently when they watch bc of how they don't "directly" say or show us what is actually meant to be there~ Bc when I finally am rewatching the drama, I'm getting even more shocked bc at first I didn't see it (saw it differently) lol

I loooove him in Moonlight Mystique. I also remember finding out that he was in My Journey to You and was surprised, like wow, I adored his character there. It surprised me too bc he gives off a completely different vibe in his two roles. Hope to see him in bigger roles in the future!

I also found out that he's also gonna be in Coroner's Diary which Ao Ruipeng plays the male lead in... I was hoping to see him have a big role here, bc dang... these two reuniting in another drama? Sign me up! Like I need to see more of them! But unfortunately, it looks like his role will be very small. Anyways, hope to see him in bigger roles in the future. Rooting for him!

The one who plays Yichen's brother in FoF hehe~ He plays two different characters and the secondary one has a cute and heartwarming friendship with Ju Jingyi's character 🥹 So not only we see Ju Jingyi with Tian Jiarui but also her with his brother from FoF 🤭 (I'm ngl, kinda shipped them too)
