Also looking forward to this drama in general with Joseph and Ruirui's reunion- Ruirui and Riley's reunion, and Li Yitong and Deng Wei all in the same frame / drama together! Hello~ When I watched this while it was airing, I really did love Wen Xiao's character more in the beginning. I remember starting and it was refreshing to see this different side of Chen Duling. Unfortunately, her character did let me down to the end. If I had tbh, I liked her more in the first half. Nonetheless, I still like her character. I found that I like her more now though as I'm doing my rewatch.
But anyways, since you don't seem to like weak characters, which is understandable, I'd say don't drop just for the FL. I continued mainly because I really enjoyed the story and loved the friendship between the squad. It was so much fun and interesting seeing different sides to the characters too. Some of which you haven't seen yet.
I also just want to add that the second half of the drama (which you seem to have left off on) is really, really good. For me, it's even better than the first half. I was so drawn into the drama already in the beginning, but the second half was something else, but also something I wasn't expecting, but I really loved it. I'd say different vibe / tone but in a good way.
And yes, the bromance is really strong here. Maybe you already love their bromance now like I remember loving already too in the beginning, but the stronger bromance in the second half shocked me lol. I enjoyed it a ton. And about Li Lun, you should continue to watch bc you'll be seeing more of him compared to the first half which he seemed to barely have any screen time. Good luck!
