It may be an unpopular opinion nowadays, but I still insist PatPran run rings around KP chemistry-wise. They may…
I haven't watched the other one so I can not compare. Although, I think it'd be hard to compare in the first place. haha Hmm but if we are talking fireworks--steaming scenes don't technically lead to fireworks. In my opinion.

Is this really only 10 episodes? Why does it feel like Gmmtv is in rush to get these episodes out?
Maybe they have to do separate projects which gives them less time to be together long enough to create the episodes.

The fact that this series make me rewatching it several times for every single episodes really say something,…
Do I spot a Shinee lover? haha

Does anyone know where this ends in the manga? Or should I just read the manga from the beginning?
I don't think the manga went any farther--which is why some things were added. Unless a new chapter just came out. I could be wrong though. I didn't try to find or read it.

Yeah, I don't typically like over the top/exaggerated stuff. I don't know how I got used to it for Japanese comedies based off manga/anime. There are some that are still too much. Either I'd never watch it again or I just can't even finish it. I feel they do them better now though. More balanced somehow. If all the characters were so hyper I'd lose my mind. haha Or if the main hyper one was in that state 24/7 it'd be real hard for me to continue.
I've always loved the more realistic tone ones~ So many gems out there. I feel they are unique to Japan as well. Not that all of them are AMAZING, but still. haha

Side Note: Between Us~
I hope it turns out well.

Just my opinion, but I would have enjoyed this drama more if it weren't so cheesy. Fukuhara Kouta (Sota Ryosuke)'s…
It might be like Kieta Hatsukoi. The main character in that was also the only one really acting "over the top", but the actor was being true to the character. It's just that the anime/manga style characters (typically from comedy ones) can seem odd in live actions because people don't act that way in real life. Japan seems to stick fairly close to the source material most of the time.
You get used to that type of acting--unless it is just too strange for you. Which is fine of course. Everyone has their preferences.

There was actually one part Yusuke's acting seemed off, but that might have just been because of the director. I think they both did a good job for what roles they were playing.

I just saw your comment — I commented something similar above. Lol. I do find it odd. But then you watch something…
I think it is easy to fall back into a relationship/friendship despite time spent apart. Especially if you were close. In this case, there was the pain of choosing the "normally expected" life though. At the same time, people make mistakes and the guy left behind probably understood it despite his feelings. Which might be why he fought it, but couldn't really in the end.
Personally, I didn't feel they fell back together smoothly yet ended on a solid note at the end. For me it was good enough. I guess because I didn't think there was trust broken in the first place. More like disappointment (mixed with sadness and maybe anger) at the original decision.

Ah, I haven't tried to see how similar the two were. You don't really learn much about the two characters in the show or movie. In the series, one is quieter than the other and that stays true in the movie--in my opinion.
One surfs, but that's a hobby you can assume he still likes. I can't remember anything else. haha
I mean it probably didn't help it was different actors. Even if they played the exact same roles of them as teens--they would have brought their own flare to the characters (even if just by accident).
I kind of felt like the series was a honeymoon snapshot type situation. The one was only there for vacation. A summer time love type story. One that obviously became more after the show ended. Whereas the movie felt more like real life than that fantasy vibe. If that makes sense. Maybe those vibes helped make you feel a disconnect. Who knows. I mean if you enjoyed them both that's what really matters. haha

I like both Him movies. The first was about first/young experimental love. Them just casually figuring it out. I feel like it had a kiss . . . maybe. I haven't watched it in a long time so I'm not sure. It was fine even if they didn't. Considering everything.
The adult version definitely had more moments of making out. I guess I understand the comment about development. Since one was going through a legal situation the story had some focus on that--which I liked actually. It was almost as if the ending was saying 'things have been figured out imagine how they are progressing', but they could technically make another movie about them being a couple again. Reconnecting and adjusting to the new life in a more solid way. Showing how they are still connected to the mother and daughter. Stuff like that.

I totally agree~
I liked Restart though. Just saying. Different vibe, but good. In my opinion.

Ah, yeah. They were pretending to just be friends though--so it didn't bother me. I was more like 'why he lying!?' Like I get why he decided to do that and kept it going, but still. Oh but maybe the slight jealous moments were replacing the cute affection ones. The romantic gesture with the pictures was great though~ That was cute vibes.

This paragraph ^ is all over the place. haha

It depends on the type you are watching. Two of the three you mentioned are comedies and lighthearted in nature.…
Oh, my bad. Sorry. haha
That makes more sense.
Hmm it might be true it doesn't happen often in JBLs. It's either not happening or most definitely happening. haha No questionable hints. I can't think of any off the top of my head anyway. Even in Cherry Magic he basically flat out said they did the deed. lolz

Right? I mean it's cute to see them interacting, but I'd rather them only do it to the point they feel natural and comfortable. If that makes sense. Just being themselves without feeling the need to pull back or hype something up.

Honestly, Restart may have two light kisses . . . but the other affections aren't really there. Not saying it's bad--just noting the differences.
For instance, in Mr. Unlucky they hug, hold hands, play with each others hair and so on. I don't think any of that happens in Restart. At least I can't specifically remember whereas other movies I can. I mean Kota and Naoya were dating so that implies more closeness. While restart is not fully centered around romance. Regardless, if you are basing it only on lip to lip action (big or small)--Restart wins.

Those BLs series were adapted from a Shounen ai manga and the creator of the series stayed faithful to the source…
True. They tend to stay close to the original material. Finding a middle ground manga is not the easiest thing in the world. Shounen ai are the type where you are lucky to get a kiss--basically. Yaoi are the type where you are lucky not to be feeling you are reading porn. haha Usually I can only find the middle ground by looking at a Yaoi's cover and/or blurb.

I mean . . . touching/kissing off camera is a bit odd in reality. They are playing a role and so there is no reason to have (or imply) extra skinship whether it's in regards to the type of gender you are attracted to or not.
With that said, I have seen moments of Japanese BL actors interacting comfortably together and not being afraid of touch. They just aren't really hyping up their couple by being extra touchy or something. It's not a matter of 'one not wanting to'. The good thing about that is less people are probably shipping them at dangerous levels.
But I mean just hugging is a big deal over there. Maybe not AS much as before--who knows. Still.

Yeah, watch more and see what you like.

I felt very similarly about this show as I did Kieta Hatsukoi. Both are cute and wholesome with main characters…
Ah, that might be true. I always felt like comedic ones were more puppy love level and the realistic feeling ones where different, but a lot of those are movies.
