Well, it's because of translating I think. It's morning in the East so that could happen at the end of the day--which would be around a day later from when it actually came out.
I agree with you on the trope. It should be used more sparingly, if at all.Though I feel this exact show isn't…
Yeah, that makes sense. I mean in most cases under normal circumstances you would just know--even if you subconsciously pushed it away. I say most because there are some people who are more like demisexual and/or demiromantic so they wouldn't feel anything unless they got to know someone well enough. It is possible he is like that--which would fit with him being confused since he's been distancing himself from real friends for however many years. As for the translation of him specifically using 'guy'--I wonder if he is actually using those words (or moreso talking about Shinomiya). I'd have to rewatch to listen for it. I know they translated their names wrong after all--using their first ones when they are saying the last names. To mess up on something so simple . . . I feel I can't fully trust other parts of the translation. haha There was even one translation that made Fukuhara say 'I want to be good friends' at the end of the first episode when the misunderstanding happened. He definitely didn't use the word 'friends', but the translation was super confusing.
Yeah, using him for better luck is a sucky thing to do. Although he didn't intend to date him he agreed to at the end of the day. I suppose it didn't bother me too much because he did debate about putting an end to it during two separate moments. Perhaps also because I can't imagine how horrible his life has been up to that point. To come across the one and only person (probably) who could make your life somewhat normal. It'd be a hard temptation to pass up. I mean I would have cleared up the misunderstanding right when it happened, but different cultures/personalities handle things in their own way. It also seems like he is already feeling bad about the situation and it's only been a week or something. I'm assuming since Shinomiya seemed to have asked him to go on a date the weekend right after they started dating.
Side Note: I like how you tend to say 'I see wym' haha And it's good you are enjoying it over all. I get why any type of media that could appear to paint something in a way that isn't common would be frustrating--especially when it's been done many times in the past.
After rewatching this series I need to admit I liked the first half better, but still love episodes 10, 11 and…
I felt just as much (if we are talking teary stuff), or maybe more, when I saw Pat getting upset when confronting his dad. Particularly the part when his voice cracked and he was saying stuff like 'I had to hate him because of you' or whatever. I think because this was the man he looked up to and trusted. To think he did such a thing to Pran's mom on top of things. The disappointment and teary sadness in Pat's face was just devastating--especially since he is known for staying strong even when upset. To the point some probably don't even notice he was probably hurt by certain things in the show. haha
ohhh samesame I'm into japanese BL too but they don't get published often, I guess around 2-3 series a year. for…
Yeah, then there are Thai ones where you lose count as to how many are popping out each year nowadays. haha Honestly, Japanese ones come out at a healthy pace I'd say. I try not to get too sucked in to watching shows all the time. haha

Oh yeah . . . for sure. haha I actually wasn't completely sure what you were addressing. I don't typically like over the top comedy, but I feel like Japanese ones tend to hit a nice balance after you get used to that way of things. Especially in more recent years. It depends though.

Most of the time Japanese BLs come across, to me, as barely even including gender/sex as an issue. As they seem to focus more on the characters and their relationship.

Yeah, I kind of agree with the Michael that Fukuhara seemed to be attracted to him right when they first interacted. Of course you could say that noticing someone's good looks can be done platonically, but considering how Fukuhara seemed to never even consider romance to be an option he wouldn't have second guessed those thoughts. Also this is a romcom so it's more likely thinking 'oh I like his face' could hint at feelings already stirring.
The not even considering romance is another reason he might deny anything by saying 'nonono you don't like him' or 'don't get sucked in'. I didn't get the impression he was anti-guys or something--and he doesn't appear to be acting (as in he isn't being any more fake than normal). Although there are times he struggles with like letting something happen cause they are suppose to be dating while also pointing out that he was oddly excited about it (or something along those lines). This might be because he might not know if his excitement is just related to him being able to enjoy the simple things in life. To me, it seems as though his feelings has been growing but his situation makes it complicate for him to truly understand. It also could be more of the fact that the relationship started, even if by accident at first, in a shady way. After he got over being able to enjoy life like a normal person he started to feel bad--and I don't think that's really related to the feelings he is in denial about. After all, he kept his distance from others because he didn't want to pull them in to his misfortunes. There is no way he'd want to get into a romantic relationship for real--because that's just ten times worse. Putting them through what he experiences. Of course it is a little different because Shinomiya counters the bad luck to a degree, but still. He's probably basically a virgin when it comes to anything related to romance/feelings. Or at the very least has been actively pushing such things away for years. It'd make sense for him to do that here even just out of habit.

Perhaps they meant sex scenes and drunkards that do extra dumb stuff cause they are drunk. In relation to the alcohol part. The actions while drinking/drunk were kind of tame after all.
Thanks.
