It really is not that complicated. They have already tried everything else, there is not enough time to find the last artifact and still save him. Killing him is literally the only way to save him at this point. She does it to keep his immortal soul alive and from disappearing forever.

Right?!? I do not understand the people who watch historical dramas and then complain nonstop about how the characters are because they are not using 21st century morals and standards. I mean, come on, if they were using modern standards for a historical film then it would no longer be a historical drama, it would be a fantasy drama. sheesh
Okay, so I am just going to put this out there. I really am loving the storyline, and acting and all that, But what is up with the editing???? Seriously. Where did they find their editing guy? The cut-offs and cut-to's are so jarring. That's it. That is all. Just had to voice the complaint after the 10 millionth cut scene. Other than that enjoying the show.

So one of the scenes that is really sticking out in my head (and this is why I stressed that the question was for those who have read the book. So if that is not you and you don't want possible spoilers, stop now).
There is a scene in the book where she thinks her boss is going on a blind date. So she shows up at the restaurant pretending to also be there for a blind date. She ends up crashing his date (which now has an elderly couple who she thinks are the girls' parents). When he leaves to go to the bathroom (?) she trash-talks him to the 3 people. When he comes back he introduces them as his parents and maybe cousin (?) (pulling this from memory, sorry). She ends up getting really drunk and kissing him.
