Speak for yourself. I am not saying that I don't want good scripts but I also am happy when the rolls are filled…
Thank you for the civil reply. So I am just curious on your take on something (and I really am not trying to start trouble here I promise. just want your take). If you were working as part of the promo team for a drama, wouldn't you try to hype it up as much as possible? I mean that is there job. And maybe for them they do view this as a great historical drama (which I also agree that as far as Historical dramas go I would not put it as the best either. In general I always just look at dramas as nothing more than entertainment and take it as such, but there are definitely better portrayed historical dramas out there). So I guess my question is, "How would you have gone about promoting this drama"?

I guess that is where I am having issues with this complaint against say another drama that was mainly visuals yet left the story line in the dust. The drama that they decided to pick apart actually had a solid story line and most people enjoyed it. There is never going to be a drama that every single person likes. But this had a pretty solid following of people who liked it (and not for the visuals as the argument seems to be going)

Same for you. The fact that several people have spoken out about the fallacies in your wording, yet you double down. Honestly, I am done with trying to get you to see why others are having issues with the whole thing. But once again, let me point out that there are many different dramas out there. Pick something else to watch and leave others to the ones that they prefer. Simple

You really like to go all the way around the argument, don't you? Also, just because of few people in power have their panties in a twist does not make the general Chinese population agree with this. I have several Chinese friends that think this is absolutely ridiculous. But you go ahead and say whatever you think makes you look morally superior 👍 🙄

And the director in this case (thankfully) decided to honor the vision of the original author. This really is a stupid argument. If you don't like it (the fact that the director ran true to the original story line and vision of the author) go watch something else.

It's not wrong when the character is literally described in such a way by the person who wrote the original novel. That would be the point here. There is an uproar because he is "too pretty" for "historical and reality" according to the people arguing on this. But HE LITERALLY EMBODIES WHAT THE AUTHOR WROTE. A drama is a drama, not real life. And if a drama is based off of an authors novel then it should follow the way the author has written it.

The point is that all of this is coming out because of the drama Pursuit of Jade and someone who took offense because the lead male was too good looking in his opinion for the role. Which is absolutely asinine because who is to say what someone should look like for a particular role? It is also Ironic due to the fact that the Male Lead actually came very close to the original author's depiction of him. So for someone in the military getting their panties in a twist because he felt offended over the actor's looks says way more about him than the actor himself.

Also, Xi Jinping putting his 2 cents on anything is never good. His need for complete control over everything has a marked similarity to another dictator from history. Nothing ever good comes from it and the regular citizens are the ones who get the brunt of the crap when they decide they must exert control over something else.
I do agree that focus should be on the acting and storyline but if they start fearing repercussion due to an actor being "too pretty", dramas won't get released or actors won't be able to get roles. Governments should stay in their own lane and China has a tendency of overreach and making all involved miserable

i am just saying that Chinese actors looks very different from all the Chinese I've met in my life(the normal…
Not saying that cosmetic surgery doesn't happen, but to say "all the exceptionally beautiful people obviously had it done" is beyond insulting. There are quite a few Chinese actors that have not had cosmetic surgery. . And if you do not think so then you really should do your research first before commenting.
Your comment is absolutely degrading

If the Chinese entertainment industry listens to these suggestions, it would be wonderful. We are tired of seeing…
Speak for yourself. I am not saying that I don't want good scripts but I also am happy when the rolls are filled with characters that are pleasing to watch. And honestly, I feel like the people raising a fuss about this after the drama POJ are anti-fans looking to start trouble where they can. The drama did great in the ratings, the acting was fire and most people enjoyed the drama overall, so they found 1 thing that they felt would make them sound like they had a legitimate complaint. These people need to get a freaking life

girl shut up. in real life, it's not permissable to make a racist remark against SEA so why are you babying him?…
The point they were making was that it wasn't really a racist comment. Pointing out differences between genders and ethnicity is not racist. People need to have something to feel offended about these days just to make themselves feel like they are important. Lord help us

Racism is about stereotyping. He points to the picture and generalizing that's what an SEA person looks like.…
So now pointing out positives is considered racist.....Lord at this point you might as well tell people that anything and everything that comes out of their mouth will be construed as racist. Every day it is something new. And Honestly, the more you guys find to be offended by the more YOU create the racist environments around yourself.
