Also, can MDL do something about the freaking immature toddlers who keep rating episodes that haven't even aired? I swear the maturity level of some people never develops past the nappy stage
I had the same thought as you in the opening episodes when a'chou chops off the guy's head. It was overkill and…
I do agree that some of it is overkill and a bit plot hole-ish. But once again, I don't agree that the scheming on A'chou's part is on par with WR. It could just be me on this as well but I have a hardcore adversion to anyone who is evil just because they are an entitled asshat.
A'chou is fighting for her life. She has to be 2 steps ahead of everyone else. There is a difference between outwitting others in the bid for survival vs someone who is simply psychotic, and WR is simply psychotic. She has no other reason for her behavior other than she thinks she is entitled to whatever she wants and if anyone gets in her way then they should die. So yeah, there is a vast difference between the 2 and I will always root for someone who is not evil to their core and are fighting to survive.
I apologize. I should have been clearer. I can see where the confusion came in. I guess I was going with the sarcasm and figured everyone would clue in. Also sorry for the late response I have been working and not on here the last several days
I honestly find this comment section a tad funny because if a person in real life found out that their spouse…
Yes he wanted to divorce her but in that time era divorces didn't just "happen". There had to be a cause that would make the families agree. This was his "cause". The money laundering would not have given him enough leverage for her family to agree. He also kept the situation fairly controlled and private. If he was petty he could have smeared her name all over and that would have forced the family to agree. You have very rose colored glasses if you think he could have pulled this divorce off with as minimal backlash as what he did in that time era just because he wanted "to get rid of her". Seriously, for infidelity in that time she could have been put to death to cover the shame. He in essence pointed that out and made them realize that divorce was a better option.
Or maybe it is a historical drama so putting modern progressive ideals here wouldn't fit the timeframe. If people…
Ah, I misunderstood what you were getting at. And I agree with you for the most part. The ones I was talking about needing to watch modern dramas are the ones that on every historical drama seem to get completely bent out of shape because of the historical context and then go on about how much they hate the show or the actor (not necessarily the character) because the chose to portray the character. Those are the ones that I have a hard time understanding. As far as having intellectual conversations about society and its norms in different context, I am all for, bring it on. But people need to remember these are characters portraying a certain era and not get their emotions bound up in everything that does not align with their modern mindset.
The comment section is a reminder that misogyny and patriarchy may have left the legal systems, but they clearly…

I swear people have lost all critical thinking skills. I wonder why people watch historical dramas and then b*tch about historical accuracy such as patriarchal societies or harams. It makes no sense to me. If you want to have modern type of mentality/social hierarchy then watch modern dramas. For the record I think the male lead is nailing his role.
