On Cinderella at 2 AM Sep 20, 2024
This was supposed to be a reverse Cinderella story, but it went a full loop to be back to be a Cinderella again, with all the stereotypes in the old kdramas of the opposed rich parents too ~

At first I thought it'd be more realistic, as if Cinderella was in the 21th century, affected by capitalism and with a serious tough upbringing and base her behaviour and actions on that fact, but that only lasted for maybe the first episode then bam! Fairytale again, however, the reason I continued watching was that I kinda enjoyed it, till maybe the 6 episodes then everything felt like stretching a rubber band, or running in circles with nothing really happening.

I liked the ML, I mean I don't know why everyone is against him, I've seen worse, he was ok but his character on the other hand, is completely unrealistic in a slightly annoying way lol I've never seen someone that clingy without being borderline Psycho or a stalker, and IRL if I met someone like that, no matter how rich or handsome, I'd run for the hills.
I understand that their relationship is supposed to be going well, they love each other so they didn't actually have a reason to break up, hence the clinging part, but the FL has raised the red flag a few times already trying to push him away and he still stayed, so if the drama has an ounce of reality, it's actually gone.

I'm not saying it was disappointing, after all, the "realistic" part was my own expectation, and I don't remember the drama promising that.

I also liked the SLs, both of them are cute and also has a fairy tale love story, a more pleasant one than the MLs, and that is why I believe some may love them more.

Generally, it was good and enjoyable, just a simple love story stretched out too much and like a said, it's like a rubber band, they didn't even put a proper side character trying to steal the FL heart or anything , they were end game from the first moment in the first episode, but it also had some funny and cute moments with adorable BGM πŸ˜‚

Watch it for Jaejoong.

That's the only reason I continued watching it, I'm slightly biased since I'm a huge fan of JJ -since early tvxq years, or mid 00s- yet, watching this was a chore.

It's hard to like a drama when you hate every character - except for ML and SFL, whom I wish will end up together- the brother, the parents even the FL was terrible and I'm not a huge fan of the actress anyway, I find her barely tolerable but I didn't take that against her by any means, her character takes all the blame for my dislike.
I won't start on why I hate most of the characters, it's pretty obvious.

I feel JJ was lost on this drama, I saw potential there but everyone was annoying to watch, it wasn't even funny and the romance is barely there, the only scenes I really enjoyed were when Gun was sick and SaeYan took care of him, that's the only part that I considered Rom-Com despite being neither.

With only 2 episodes left, I lost faith on having Gun end up with SaeYan, and I can't even wish that she is his real first love, because that's the only reason he loves JuYeon that much and if he knew it was all a lie, and he was cheated of his first love, I don't think Gun can handle that truth since they show no intention of changing who the ML end up with ~

Finally, it's not a completely bad drama but very skippable, and I would not recommend it unless you are like me, just miss seeing JJ on the screen so you'll settle for anything lol

Lovely but so sad, I'm not good with melodramas but I liked it, I admit I didn't cry lol yet I was moved by the characters specially the FL ~

The cherry on top is that the two leads met and fell in love while filming and ended up being together IRL which is an alternative, very happy ending πŸ˜‚

I thought it's a rom-com but it's more a rom-drama with a few funny moments here and there

Generally a good drama, with a few moments that I hated, with too many unnecessary mysteries and questions to be answered.

I found myself questioning some characters' behaviour in some situations while watching and I think If it was me i would not do the same thing, but I can't really apply this in a fictional drama even if it discuss a real and serious problem.

Also I didn't like how the mother behaves like a friend with those neighbours, they are terrible terrible people!!
However, I LOVE taepeong's father, I like them both tbh but his father is the cherry on top πŸ˜‚

This became my daily detox after a being exhausted by work, just like a dopamine shot πŸ˜‚
It is nothing spectacular or anything but I love the calm atmosphere of the Villages and the many shots of green scenery ❣️

Spot on, like you said you loved each other enough to marry, so the loves there if it's not an abusive relationship…
As far as I remember - it's been 3 years,bro- πŸ˜‚- she had a divorce but the cheaters didn't end together.
however, there is a sequel and they met again, but I don't remember at all how the sequel ended πŸ˜…

Funny that he got 1 year cause of drugs that basically ruined himself while Seungri did a whole hell of a fuck-up…
I.. literally said what I meant... twice mind you πŸ˜‚,and you misunderstood me twice lol I can't say it more clearly, if you can't comprehend simple English sentence just don't engage in a conversation because that makes you look bad really.
And LMAO you are giving "me" examples of what "I" actually mean now you are just being funny trying to "disagree" for the sake of disagreeing... but it's actually my fault you know, I'm sorry I thought you have brains πŸ˜‚ I should have thought that your thinking is the same way as your typing πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Our discussion ends here, I already wasted enough time ~

The issue is as a manga adaptation they chose to stick almost exactly to the manga (with some iffy choices that…
I disagree, it's too choppy I can literally point out when a volume ends and whe another starts without even reading the mange, but I kinda understand why we can't agree.

you are talking from the position of someone that already knows the whole story and the drama is basically a short summary to the whole thing so your mind just focus on comparing the two and point out the missing parts from the manga

While from where I stand, I'm not familiar with the manga, all I know was the movie that honestly I don't ever remember that well, so my opinion is more objectified because I only focus on the series alone.

Not saying one is right and one is wrong, simply you see 6 I see 9 so 🀷

First, I salute you for reading the whole thing, can't believe I wrote all that lol

I understand, but don't you agree that by doing so, the drama overall looks choppy and slightly inconsistent?

I believe that, had they focused on one volume or maybe two, it'd have been much better than trying to burn the candle from both ends ~

Dude , you didn't get my point πŸ˜‚ where did i say YAI didn't commit a crime here? I'm making fun of the judiciary in SK by comparing the two sentences to the crimes committed in each case~
And absolutely, Seungri should have served much more ~

I watched the movie long time ago, and as far as I remember - or don't remember - the story was lovely and the movie was ok or good, at least good enough to encourage me to watch the series.

That been said, it wasn't what I expected.
The story somehow had 3 sections that was covered over the episodes and shifts from one to another in a very sharp way, it wasn't even a smooth shift, you can literally cut the series into parts.

The first 4-5 episodes focused on the relationship between the two leads and this was by far the best part, the interaction was super cute, they were so lovely and I could see a hint of BL in there, including that miserable excuse of a kiss, but I've seen some "clean" BL and loved like Cherry Magic for example, the difference is that the latter had a good build up for the love/relationship of the leads while here it only lasted for like 5 episodes then we shifted to the second section, in which they experienced a lack of communication. Mind you they weren't together or anything πŸ˜‚ they were just friends.

I understand why Kohei was hesitant and didn't share much because Taichi never show what's on his mind, I know he was supposed to be a confused character who doesn't know what he wants, but I didn't like how they made Taichi behave toward Kohei, first he didn't reply to the confession, he didn't push him away nor did he reciprocate his feelings, he just acted like nothing, and that made Kohei keep apologising and feeling like a burden. And while he keeps being a very good friend and was mad every time Maya pulled Kohei away, he wasn't clear at all about his feelings, making us as a viewer get confused, like did he like him or did he not??

Then during this confusion and mess, they again shift to another section that discussed the whole hearing disability and the struggles the hearing impaired people faces, and while the matter was discussed the whole time in the background of their story, it suddenly became the sole focus in the last few episodes that we totally forget about the leads and their relationship.

I generally didn't hate the drama but it simply didn't deliver what it promised, the BL part is very lacking, the only good thing is the friendship, I'd prefer if this was made as a bromance to a BL, I wasn't looking for sex or anything like that so don't get me wrong, but at least if it's going to be advertised as a BL I'd like both of the leads to have feelings for/confess to eachother and have a proper romance part in the story even without touching at all.
the disability part was covered well, and I really liked the company boss and his employee.

I guess it has similarities but it’s not meant to be.
Yeah, it's very oddly familiar, I thought it's the same till I read that the parents aren't actually married, but I needed confirmation anyway so thanks ~

Ok I know I'm too late for this, but is it like the Taiwanese version of Addicted Heroin?? I knew there is a Thai version but I had no idea there is a Taiwanese version going on.
Story sounds incredibly familiar but some comments confused me ~

It was cute, and despite generally liking it, I hated how incredibly and utterly innocent and childish Taishin was, I mean I can accept some stupidity and innocence but He was a bit too much.
I still liked the drama though, he wasn't a huge put off or anything, the length of 10 episodes was good too, but i think they needed to slightly focus more on Takara.
I would generally recommend it, it's light and lovely.

What in the actual fucking fuck was that!!!!
I'm a sucker for gore stuff, Blood? Great, the more the merrier, but I have to say this was a very serious traumatizing shit!!!

I personally did not mind it, my problem was that I thought it's like high school drama stuff with horny teens or something, and when I found out about the BL tag -which I checked after I started the movie- I thought cool, BL with 8 boys in high school and kidnapping a girl, pretty much fucked up but my type of fucked up!

It wasn't my type of fucked up πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I was surprised a little but once you get past the "first" shock ... You kinda start to enjoy it for the real reason now πŸ˜‚

I loved "lesson of the evil" it's one of my favourites so there is no way I wouldn't like this, but I still can't believe I thought it was a high school romance at first lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
