Oh how I loved it!!! It was amazing!! Aside from the story itself, the way they represented the idea of loneliness and fearing to be forgotten is just brilliant!! It's so deep and emotional. At first I was going to complain about how they always represent shy introverted people as obsessive and stalker-ish and once you give them attention they become psychopaths, but the second part made me realise it wasn't about that, it's not about him being shy or socially awkward, it's much more. I love how it ended, and how he snapped himself back to reality at the last quarter of the movie, it shows that he wasn't just a weirdo stalker, he just wanted to feel loved, his behaviour was completely wrong but not for the obvious reasons ~
I would highly recommend this movie if you are feeling lonely, this would probably make you feel much much worse π
I loved it, it's a simple movie with deep messages, it shows that each one of us has his own story but with some bad points. It follows an ex prostitute and the people she meets on daily basis and each has his own struggles that he faces, from a little kid missing his mothers love and attention, to a teenager lost between family and desires, to her daily customers and her co-workers. What I did not like much was the shallow representation for some characters like Shinatsu, and the homeless guy. even Okaji didn't have enough time to tell all her family problems so it came slightly superficial, but again it's more about Chihiro and I believe we had enough of her backstory to understand her character.
This movie has everything, every destructive habit you'll find it here, any problem or mental disorder would be present, from eating disorder, bulling, sex addiction, bdsm, obsession all sexualities gays, lesbians, straight. You name it! Even side characters that had a scene or two would have some kind of mental issue. The big problem here is that they just throw everything in the blender, and do nothing about it. I don't understand the artistic POV here tbh, the only thing I concluded is that everyone in this society is sick!! π That's it ~
It's one of those movies that you need to get deep with the characters to form a realistic opinion about it, you can't just look at it from the outside, because of you did, you'll probably solve the whole attachment the two leads had if they were admitted to a hospital and took some depression pills, alas this was set in the 60s, and it's Haruki Murakami's work so, we have to take the long rough road here π
It's not a shallow cheating story, it's a story of loss and how some deal with it, how different everyone translate his feelings of loss, and what we do with all the love we had for someone when he or she is gone. The ML shifted all his whole love for Kizuki to Naoko, and later became it's captive that can't and don't want to free himself from, Midori gave him a reason to be set free, with her, he may forget his loss with time, but his heart was tied with a string, he couldn't let go and that's why he broke down when he lost Naoko, both of them wanted to fill the emptiness Kizuki left in eachother in a very unhealthy way, while completely wrong, but understandable.
I have to admit that the movie didn't do the novel justice, but I bet no adaptation of Murakami's works can do that anyway.
I kinda like it but not enough to go on and watch the sequel or rewatch this one. Like I see the appeal but maybe this movie isn't for me. The Yakuza leaders were too weak, I felt they needed a serious antagonist to give the impression that they are ridiculously too strong to be true. Maybe I like the darker type of assassins moreπ
Youβre not the only one. I agree about everything youβve said except for the chemistry and fitting each other.…
I don't know if I agree or disagree really π you have a solid point that I can't deny, the "awkwardness" was pretty much present and my admiration for their chemistry could be influenced by them in LITA, they were good there. Nevertheless, if we think about it, it could be because of the weird script, if an actor is supposed to do a scene in a certain way or behave in a specific manner, the whole scene could look messy, even if he get along pretty well with his partner. Or at least that's how I see itπ€·π€·
I wanted to like this more but sadly I couldn't, it started off with good premise then went downhill half way…
I still don't understand why he came back to life lol the man never dies!! JunO is supposed to be dead and gone and that's why he was possessed in the first place, now after DoHa is gone, why is he back?? And if we say to have a happy end, he actually did not end up with YoungHwa which made everything more ridiculous. I would understand if he just died and they meet again in the next life but to be resurrected twice is just too much even for a fantasy drama π
I wanted to like this more but sadly I couldn't, it started off with good premise then went downhill half way through, nothing was happening for the most of it, I think it needed to have less episodes because by the time the story started to pick up the pace I completely lost interest, mainly because of the very slow few episodes in the middle. And the ending was odd really, I mean some part of it, the overall conclusion was good but there is one thing I could not understand why it went this way - spoiler below- Overall it could be better and I understand if some even liked it, but not me ~
NGL I kinda like it, if we ignore the half softcore lesbian porn there is actually some kind of a story in the other half, though not a great story that deserves to watch the girls act for it but still, not completely garbage. It's done well, and I wish the efforts were done on a deserving story but still it's very enjoyable. I loved Yuuya he was adorable, but there is no one on earth that is this innocent lol I wouldn't recommend it unless you are an adult who have an idea about the anime/story and don't mind the sex here ~
It's about damn time!!! I totally forgot about this to be reminded through MDL that it's finally going to air in a few days ... I'm excited to see Leng for the first time, he looks cute I love how he is literally the love child of Billkin and PP ππ which makes me more excited for his screen debut...Best of luck for both leads πβ£οΈ
Your opinion is very valid criticism and you didn't even state it rudely sad to see a PUBLIC forum used to discuss…
My dear friend, great minds think alike π π€ We were cursed only because we have a different opinions π Actually if you ignore idiots they follow you around like lost dogs - with my utmost respect for dogs of course π they are much more superior- that's the only thing they know, to show how despicable they were raised. She was too obsessed that she follows anyone who replies to my comment and curse them too lmao ππhow pathetic she can't let it go That's why we should not give them attention they don't deserve. Have a good day πβ£οΈ
Felt like a bouncing ball. I watched this movie long time ago then I totally forgot about it and watched it again, it was quirky and funny, I also got to see the most beautiful and incredibly cute young Minami hamabi β£οΈ she was so adorable and her part was so emotional
Despite being a relatively good drama, I didn't really like it. I mean acting was good and the story was nice, but the FL character got me scratching my head while watching, the way they kept putting hints of old strings of emotions she had for ML while being completely not in love with him, even forgetting most of their memories together in the past, I mean did she like him or did she not? And after a while and despite being only 8 episodes, it became boring, I skipped a lot because there is nothing really going on. Aside from that, I'm also not a fan of the pairing "JH and SH" I mean I like them a lot specially JH I'm a huge fan, but I couldn't see them as a couple at all, I could not see any chemistry between them as lovers either. They just don't fit IMO, they did a great job nonetheless. Overall, I'm sure many will like it, because generally speaking, it's light rom-com well done but maybe not for me~
