Better than expected

I kept my expectations very low when I started this, mainly because i can't seem to remember anything I watched for the main couple, and basically Mond was what had pulled me in to start it.

so I didn't know what to expect tbh~
That's why I enjoyed it despite being really slow burn with nothing going on and a very rushed end.

Story is nice, kinda expected but still the main couple were great, Lava had some character development that was enjoyable to watch, Wave on the other hand, despite being really nice characters, the whole memory loss thing is a bit too much, I think WaveXDavin should have a slight difference in character, like to have the same soul but slightly different, I don't know how to explain it in words but I couldn't believe the whole amnesia since I couldn't see any difference in behaviour, be that as it may, I loved Satang's performance.

What I didn't like is actually the pace, it was slow with literally just day to day life of the cast with things happening in the background, ignoring the main story or the main focus of it which is Wave's family and amnesia and what actually happened to him, still they had a fair amount of time showing their relationship in a slow burn way which - surprisingly - not boring at all.

But I wish they would include them in a scene or two showing what is happening with his family, to show that they are concerning about their child or at least searching for him, he is a prince for goodness sake, he is much important than they showed us, and that wouldn't necessarily be a problem, hadn't they show us the whole "you are the future of our family" sh!t at the last ep, and that he must gain people's trust and bla bla bla.

Another thing was how they squeezed everything in the last ep as if they didn't have a whole 9 episodes full of nothing to expand the last ep through.

Generally speaking, it was good drama, but if we looks into the details, this failed to show the whole potential of the very simple and predictable story that doesn't even require much thinking ~

Good action, bad story

Same as Kill boksoon it's a very entertaining action movie but also same as it, the story is the weakest part of it.

I believe you have to watch the first part to fully understand the plot and the characters as some from the previous one are mentioned here and mantis himself was hinted at in the first one so to get the whole picture, watch the first movie before this one~

Now the story is all over the place because it's not very consistent, and generally not that interesting, the characters are just too humbled considering they are killers, sometimes they show them as emotional and sometimes devoid of any feelings Mantis himself was a bit obnoxious to some extent so no interesting characters, and no well-written story, this is only saved by good action sequences, aside from that I wouldn't recommend this at all ~

Watch it for Gil Dal

The first episode was so much fun to watch which made me binge watch the whole thing in one setting, the first couple of episodes were the best IMO, they were funny and lovely, the cast was fine and the story has potential.
I don't know what went wrong through the script but I had a few moments of scratching my head while watching wondering why did they go this way with the story.

What I liked about the drama
1- Gil Dal
This adorkable hulk is such a cutie, I paused a few times squealing in my seat because of how adorable and innocent he is, he is super adorable, and the actor did great in his role, I loved his chemistry with JiGwe too, I somehow wished they had an intimate scene or two, which is something I don't often look for when watching BL, I seriously wanted to see their love.

2- second couple story
I mentioned the second couple chemistry, but their story is also more interesting than the first, the bad flirty fox and the innocent huge muscular goblin are much more interesting couple than a simple human X goblin one that doesn't have anything going on tbh~

3- the cast chemistry together was good, even great, I loved that all character has a scene or two with eachother we had too many ghost ships too lol
SamShin character too was adorable, the actress looks so young and she didn't really show that halmoni inner heart but nonetheless the whole cast were very childish in a refreshing way.

4- this may sound weird but the intros
The animated intros were amazing, I wish they had them for all episodes to give us a better understanding for the story and tbh once they skipped them the story started to feel very confusing, for example, till the end we don't even know how exactly the gumiho betrayed the bihyung and nothing explained that.

What I didn't like
1-the main leads story
It started off well, then I don't know what happened, according to the contract they should have physical interaction every now and then and the whole ghost thing was so overlooked, and the two leads didn't even have a proper interaction till ep8 maybe when they started to have something actually going on.

2- the ML
I have seen this country bumpkin character in a billion BL before and they literally all the same, innocent and inexperienced and all that, but the actor didn't really convince me tbh, he needs a few acting lessons maybe, not saying he is bad actor, he is fine but I don't know, some scenes were just off.

3- many unanswered question
I liked the twist in ep9 which was really smart idea tbh, the writer deserves a slow clapping moment because it tied a few ends HOWEVER, it wasn't executed well, it opened a door to some questions, like how did he become his master exactly??? And why? And how by travelling back, he was able to make him wake up in the present!!
I didn't even mention the animosity between the bihyung and the mysterious guy and JiGwe, what happened? Who exactly are they? Also the second lead ending, how?? Are they together, what happened after their huge fight?? How did they get back together??? Too many loose ends.

4- the ending in general
As I said the second couple story was under developed despite being more interesting than the main lead's, but also the main story end was weird, so he left and then came back... Why? 😂 Guys why so mysterious? The last ep is a bunch of scenes that are totally unrelated to the whole 11 episodes before it. Making everything confusing unnecessarily.

In general, it was cute and I believe Gil Dal worth every second I spend watching this, he was a breath of fresh air, and I'd rewatch this drama for him~
I would definitely recommend it, but a piece of advice, try to turn a blind eye to the story because it lacks a lot, and the ending is happy but in a very forced way so just take it with a grain of salt, and lower your expectations ~~

So so

I liked it in the beginning... But as I watch I slowly lost interest.

The drama is good, chemistry isn't, story is nice and fluff and Kanada was adorable and funny, I need to see that actor in a comedy role, I'll gladly enjoy it.
But the two leads interaction was slightly off, and intimate scenes were too forced and fake.
Also dead fish kisses were too awkward, if you don't want to add kiss scene, don't!

I remember watching cherry magic, the whole show is without any kisses at all and still it's one of the best Bls ever, so no need for forced kisses which sadly made the whole show worse as we won't believe their strong overpowering love to eachother.

About the story, it shows a little bit of many obstacles and how to overcome them which is lovely and light, also enjoyable.

I wouldn't rate this too high because it got boring after maybe ep9, but the comedic relief and the whole vibe of the show is good.

A hot mess, but still entertaining

I don't understand why everyone keep complaining about one specific thing happening by ep 10-11 while the whole drama is full of things to complain about, that's really unfair because if you are ok with everything happening why are you so opposed to this minor detail.

It's not even a big deal, what, lying??? Seriously?? That's what put ya off??
Look how many cliché moments we had in 40mins/20ep ... Buckle up!!

We have -in no correct order- :
kidnapping, faking death, amnesia, kidnapping again, lying about sickness, coma, break up then getting back again, arranged marriage, marriage of convenience/marriage contract, psychopath, childhood trauma, evil parent, betrayal, arson, love triangle, oh! Kidnapping for the third time, betrayal again, and I didn't count how many times someone tried to kill someone from the main cast...

And you complain about a ML tricking the FL into marriage?? Tbh I wasn't really convinced about the love he had for the FL, i mean their old interactions doesn't deserve all that interest and obsession, and his way of acting upon it is even weirder.
My dear if you like someone, just confess for heaven sake!! BUT, be that as it may .... Once we know about the ML father and his past I believe that is a very convincing way to show that his mind isn't like other people and yeah, somehow this whole stupid plot makes good sense for the ML to secure the FL, so yes, it makes sense if you spend the time looking for a reason to understand his actions instead of just arguing about how unethical his actions were.

NOT saying he was right, nor that his actions are justified, all I'm saying is considering his past, his upbringing and his character, thinking in this wicked and weird way does actually make sense.

Maybe we should add some psychological trauma to the mix.
So all in all, this drama was a hot mess right from the beginning... Is it entertaining tho?? Yeah, to some extent... The flaws in acting are very noticeable, I only liked some of the Male cast, the female cast lacks a big deal, and the FL and her dead fish kisses don't help at all, her face contracts as if in disgust or pain in some closer/intimate scenes which made the whole moment terrible to watch, I didn't like the romance here tbh, but the ML was handsome so, I just stared at his face during the close shots lol.

Aside from that, the drama is a simple 2019 style drama, just too packed with too many genre and many things happening, but deep down the 3 main relationships here are nice and enjoyable, I didn't skip anyone's relationship at all, my favourite is the secretary's, actually he is my fav character, also I believe Jia Fei is a BL writer??? Is she??? I hate how with everything happening, some details are very vague but anyway it's over now ~~

I would not recommend it tbh, or maybe watch it once if you are into messy stories...

I have to say something slightly unrelated but it's my review so I shall do so, you can totally ignore this part, my review of the drama has ended anyway....

I finished a drama called "Desire" a while ago, from which's comments I re-found this drama, that I stacked a long time ago and totally forgot about, anyway back to my point, the type of obsession and aggression in Desire can't even be compared here, I saw no one complaining, no one judging, I was probably the only one who hated Hua Yong lol
I understand that not necessarily everyone who likes desire hated this but all I'm saying is, it's generally a not very big fault the trick the ML played on the FL, besides she isn't the nicest person I mean she is kind but she also lies and do things behind the MLs back so let's not put everything on the ML ok? They deserve each other.

Better than expected

I liked it very much, despite having a few things that bothered me while watching.

like the sudden switch in the FL behaviour she was against the ML all the way then suddenly she jumped on him, also the last part with the kidnapping was so unnecessary. I understand it's for the sake of the plot but the ML saved the FL quite a few times already so I didn't see any need for that.

It's full of cliché moments but still they were very enjoyable, the two leads had good chemistry and they fit eachother.

It's one of the good vd out there and I can hardly find any with no cringe acting so despite the flaws I didn't like, I'd highly recommend this ~

Not bad action movie

It was okay-ish ... The story was lost and inconsistent till like the last 45mins or so, it was so random and going no where, it was a build up for the last 45 mins, but somehow that build up wasn't necessary not did it aid in anything for the last 45mins, if anything it shows that, people who are close to you will be your enemies and you may find good friends in strangers.

The action was good, fighting sequences were good but I couldn't help but notice that it was slightly slowed down, i mean compared to other female-lead action movies, still it was really enjoyable to watch.

The brother and sister relationship was really creepy, I thought she was his gf the whole time till maybe they actually mentioned it lol I won't say when exactly cause I don't want to spoiler anything but once this in incident happens I knew their relationship.

The mother daughter relationship had weird dynamics too, is she rebellious, is she depressed, does she need help what is their relationship as a teen and her parent, to say they WERE close when she is younger doesn't simply cut it.

Now the story could be better if they maybe put a hit on her or she had to leave the company, you know something, alas the climax scene was so lame and only saved by the twist the wasn't really a twist as it had an underwhelming consequences ...

Generally speaking, it's a nice action movie, but not a great one, just ok.

A man is weakest when in love, and most malevolent when devoid of it.

I stumbled upon this drama by chance, I still don't remember what made me watch it, was it an edit or a review I read, I just impulsively started it and I finished it in one day.... Of course I skipped some scenes because DUH! It's 40ep!! I ain't got the patience for that ~~

But I understand now why everyone is complementing PGY, this is the first drama I've seen for him and he was spectacular!!

The story is nice, a smart cat and mouse games between the two leads, but we can summarise the whole idea of the drama as I said in the headline, because this was what the whole drama revolve around.
Feng Xiao Sheng before falling in love... And Feng Xiao Sheng after ...

The intelligent evil mastermind manipulative FXS has become the weakest slippery and impulsive character after falling for KY, he couldn't even harm her, and he was the cruelest person who treated her with absolute violence.
I knew from the scene where she held his face and asked him to listen to her first before doing anything and he immediately stopped hurting her that he was lost forever, he was attracted to her but now .. it's a hopeless case, because pardon me, the FL mind games were too predictable and the ML was always 4 steps ahead.

I loved him more as the evil manipulative character who is always one step ahead of everyone, be that as it may I'm extremely satisfied with the ending, I mean you don't really expect us to simply forget everything he did and that he is a crazy killer and a bully who ruined a good surgeon's future, right?? He also abused and hit a woman, oh and did I mentioned he KILLED PEOPLE!!! Because the comments I see sympathising with him are hilarious, a good actor doesn't justify his character's evil deed, I mean he was amazing but he is evil!! He deserves what he got!!

Now why did I focus my review on the ML only? Because that's the only good thing about this show!! I'm terribly sorry but the only thing I enjoyed watching was how the two leads fought eachother through mind games, aside from that the police, the family, the gang, the company stuff and the reporters ... All that was uninteresting!! Only the two leads were amazing, and I also didn't talk much about the FL despite doing a great job in her role too because the ML simply outshine her.

That been said, I don't think it deserves 40 episodes, I mean it could be shorter, and it has too many characters with too many side stories which was unnecessary, because I skipped a lot of scenes and still got everything about the story and I didn't feel like I missed anything ~

Something went off

İt was good from the beginning, and very enjoyable, the thing I didn't understand is how they choose to end it, it's a bit inconsistent because the main thing that moves the story is basically emotions.... Strong emotions, but somehow the drama missed a heart.

I won't spoil anything, trust me ... The story starts with high school boys, one very intrusive and another very timid, their memories of the same moments are very different, understandably of course, then years later .. they meet.
Natsuo! My sweet sweet child!!! Why are you so stupid 😂 I mean he is the purist person ever existed, even when he sulks and get angry he is still innocent, by the end of the show I really want to slap Hiro.... Oh yeah!! The "bullied" character deserves a slap!!! He got it so hehe, and that's why I could stomach the end.

I believe it's all because of lack of communication, if both were slightly brave to explain why they are doing what they are doing, or at least ask the other person about the reason behind their actions, it could have been a better love story.

Overall nice watch, Natsuo beautiful sunshine smile worth every second I spend watching it ❣️

Idol trauma in a nutshell

This should be named "how to help your idol overcome his trauma from the past" because that what this is about.

Now I had some expectations about the story, that it would be a funny fan-idol relationship, where she is trying in vain not to fall for him and both magically ends together BOOM! happily ever after....

But nope, that was a mistake, it's just all about the idol and his past relationships/trauma ... The girl that is trying NOT to fall the idol immediately fell like swoosh!!! Where is the resilience lol

Not saying it was a bad movie but I tend to get slightly annoyed/disappointed when the movie doesn't deliver what it promises, just write what the story is really about ~
It's relatively my mistake too for expecting too much but still it wasn't that great to make up for the disappointment...

Anyway the two leads are okayish. They didn't have any close scenes together to judge the "chemistry" because romance here was so little, but they were fine together.

I don't know what is the drama about, probably will explore what's going to happen next... I guess I'll never know ~~

Good enough

I love Taiwanese BLs, I keep saying that in the beginning of every review I write of a Taiwanese BL lol
Because they always serve what I like to eat...

Most of the times I don't watch BLs for the plot, I just do that for the sports, and they entertain me, I also admire the natural interaction between the couples and I don't mean GREAT acting or TOP chemistry, but the lack of "gay panic" acting... I don't know how to explain that but story and Acting aside, the two guys touch and kiss naturally, which isn't the case for some BLs from other countries... *cough*Korea*cough!!

Story, full of holes, doesn't make any sense and I don't even care about it, but consistent enough.

Acting was nice as I said good chemistry too, side characters Aren't the best here they didn't even have proper story displaying, despite the drama being relatively long (12 ep with enough time to explain everything considering the story, or the lack of it) but they squeezed everything on the last 2 episodes.

I wanted more funny scenes between the leads, I mean I was rolling at the seduction scene, and all the drunk scenes too, they should have added more of these, they were the best!!
And you would think that the drama needed more time or something but no, it had some unnecessary and boring long scenes that I couldn't help but wish writing and direction were slightly better.

There is one intrusive thought that kept spinning in my brain after finishing ep10, I know it's not cool to talk about that or even care but I couldn't help it, and I wasn't even going to write about it but it's my review and I don't care so f**k it ~~

Which one is Seme (top) .... And which is Uke (bottom )...
Those confusing MOFOS didn't give me a chance to IMAGINE who is which, let alone know for sure !!! Like guys how can you easily fit as both!! Cause let's see, Bai is like so cute and clingy and too submissive and kind and yet too freaking aggressive and needy when he grabs Hei for a kiss like dude gives Dom. top vibes, you are mine now vibes like I needed a fan.... IN FREAKING OCTOBER!! ... On the other hand!! Hei with his sad puppy eyes and the DRUNK EXPRESSION was soooooo cute, I'd adopt him! Please let me!!! I need a new pet!! But the guy obviously in control, it's too obvious with his flirty looks oh my!!!,, do you know what I mean!! Am I losing my mind here!!! Cause I think I am!!!!!

Finally!!!
This has one of my top favourite kissing scenes ever!! I forget what other dramas had a good ones that was so intimate and natural and beautifully shot like this one! Mainly because my great great grandfather was a golden fish and I have a terrible memory because of that, and also I've been watching BLs for years so I probably have seen too many good ones to decide!!!
BUT BE THAT AS IT MAY!!! the end of ep10 was spectacular!! *Chef's kiss*

Would I recommend this drama? I don't know, if you are too stressed from work like me just doing it for kicks then yeah, go ahead, it's totally dumb and fun!
If you want something deep and good, please look elsewhere, I don't even know how did you manage to read all that and reach the end of this review and still don't know if you should watch it or not, I probably explained everything right in the beginning... And you probably have too much time on your hands to continue reading 😂 (jk, love U 😘)

Why was this so good~~

I've been struggling with deadlines these days so I wanted to pinch something short just to relax my mind for a bit!

And damn what chances got me picking!!!
This was fantastic!! I loved the story

Unfortunately it's too short, like blink and you'll miss it! But I saw great potential if this was to be picked and made into a proper drama!!

The two leads were lovely, had nice chemistry, story had potential, it was a good healing and intimate short series , reminds me a good deal of Japanese healing dramas that leaves a touch of happiness in your heart that no matter what you are going through, it's gonna be ok ... And sometimes we are that much desperate to escape reality and search for assurance and comfort in drama world.

I was at this place tbh lol so this is rated much higher than it honestly needed ... Had I been relaxed and in a good mood I wouldn't rate it higher than 6, not because it was bad but because it was missing a lot being that short you can't even relate to any character ~~

Anyway, it's a light drama that lasts for less than 30mins ... Give it a chance, it's worth it ~

Mediocre

I have a problem with low budget KBL, it's not that acting is necessarily bad or stories are not interesting, it's just when it's put together, it's always slower than needed.

I mean the pauses between takes, at the end of each one, the pauses between each sentence said, the long stares and silence scenes are too many.

No one IRL takes that much to say two words, you don't need to think, people replies faster than in those dramas, the outcome is a 30-40 mins short drama that is boring and slow.

Acting here is good, I see potential for those guys, story is cliché but it doesn't matter it's not an oscar nominated plot keeping it simple and nice is also enjoyable.

But I can't rate this high, because I found myself skipping scenes, and it's not even that long.

This is relatively better than old KBLs (the ones from a couple of years ago) but still it's not perfect ~

And I'm not asking for much, other BLs did that natural-pace short Bald so it's not like it's impossible.

I don't have anything to complain about, because this screams low budget and I can clearly see they did the best they can.

Jimmy and Sea never disappoint

I believe that Jimmy and Sea can pick their dramas perfectly, the projects they choose (or get to be chosen to do depends on how this things work) are just top notch!

Stories and characters are 10/10...
VV, LT and now MMP are just amazing.
All of them for me are at least 8/10 dramas (LT for me is an exception because of how it ended and the switch of Day's character but that not the point now)

This one lies on top of all their dramas which shows how they have improved and grown in their roles.

Story is simple, a healing story with romance and I LOVED that they didn't go with the same cliché approach at the end (same mess they did in LT) and made it more realistic and lovely.

Acting and characters were good, we get to see a lot of the two leads and their interactions as In and Thap was fun and very enjoyable, my baby Sea had to cry a lot here, it broke my heart !! Like why my lil baby has to have so much pain in his heart, i share his official nickname (mine is in Korean) so I have a soft spot for him lol. Felt bad he had to cry that much but I'm glad Thap was there for him.

The mystery part was slightly shallow and the weakest thing in the story but this is a romantic drama more than a crime mystery drama, it's not Manner of Death type of dramas it's a fluffy romcom so I can't think of that as a negative point
Still very enjoyable ~

I really recommend this one, this is the best of JimmySea work ~~

Good fluff but not impressive

It's a lovely story, a fan-girl ultimate dream come true.
It's very simple and of course lacks some sparkles but it's good enough to entertain.

The webtoon was more explicit as far as I remember, I picked it up a while ago and decided after a few chapters that it wasn't for me, and I opted to watch the adaptation instead.
And I believe it's heavily tuned down.

This version is much lighter and fluffy, still as cute and warm but also excessively censored.

I don't think the chemistry was great here, both actors looked good together but on the other hand, there were not much intimacy here so I don't think chemistry mattered that much, they fit and that's more than enough.

I loved the SC story too, Ju Ha was adorable, I needed to see more of him and probably would go back to the webtoon if their story is explained more in it.

Overall cute fluffy and adorable for a light BL lovers~
