Simply ... A guilty pleasure

It's a fact known to everyone who watches BL that Thai BL are quantity over quality, they produce a thousand show per year and you can barely find a bunch of them to be good or watchable.

First, I have to point out that the story is different from what's written in the synopsis here, there is no pranks or childish behaviour anywhere, there is only a senior who is at odds with his junior and he picks on him sometimes, that's it.

This series is one of the few that you simply don't watch it for the story or acting, but only if you are looking for a specific thing this drama has.
It's very light, not serious, erotic, and I dare say romantic (sort of), a red flag with questionable ideas type of romance but a romantic nonetheless.
Long story short, you watch it for the s*x scenes or to enjoy the pretty faces of the cast or watch it while doing anything to pass time, or simply you have too much time on your hands

Acting was barely acceptable, some characters had potential and room for improvement, story nonexistent, the idea is very simple however ~
There is nothing to write home about, except it is watchable not terrible that you'd drop it, but keep your expectations low, very low and you will be fine ~~

It gets better and better

When I started this I picked the worst time ever, because I was bombarded with work and literally had no time to breathe, let alone binge watch a series, so I watched only one ep a day then on the 6th ep or so, I started binging it~

And what a surprise it was!!!
First the story isn't by any mean serious, it has a strong basis for a melodrama but somehow the comedic relief is still there, you can feel it and enjoy it through side characters.

It started off ok-ish, basic BL with clingy childish ML and another serious and poised one, then the beginning of their peculiar relationship.
This drama has a huge-ass trigger warning of many terrible things happening between the leads but they danced around the whole thing, there is barely any touching at all so you can watch it without getting physically sick from the idea!
Don't get me wrong, it's still a horrible behaviour but what I mean is you won't watch anything that would traumatize you, that's it ~~
By ep6 and the falling of all masks (and for me with the appearance of the doctor in 7th ep or so)
The truth was the beginning of another chapter in the story that focuses heavily on the MLs away from each other, then together and I really enjoyed the second half more than the first.

I don't know if it was because I was too distracted with work or what, but the story at the beginning was confusing, like who married whom and who cheated, who is whose son and who killed whose mother, also who is whose brother... Like who the fu*k is the king!!!!! Too many whos!!! We don't have that in the second half, everyone has one target, one thing to do and that's it!!

Cast was ok, the two leads got me scratching my head in some scenes, camera angles were questionable in some scenes, specially the intimate ones, the closer shots were more funny than sexy or attractive, and aside from the two leads, shout out to the side characters, the two dumb and dumber (Jin Bao and Zhao Cai) my lord and saviour Su Yin, and my sarcastic-ass doctor Si Ming and lastly the devilishly adorable Xiao Yu.

Those characters/actors were spectacular!! I loved Si Ming the most because we have the same sarcastic sense, basically his dialogue in some scenes was what literally popped up in my mind while watching (like the detox in the tub scene 🤦🤦)
And ZhaoCai because he was lost in the middle, he has the funniest "I'm so done" facial expressions and the best eye-rolling WTF reaction to Jin Bao and Xiao Bao (I call them the idiotic BaoBao).

I didn't know this drama existed, I found it by chance and I'm glad I picked it up, so despite everything it's highly recommended~~

Meh

Now I understand why this is rated so low.

Story sounds interesting, but the actual drama isn't.

Second leads story was soo boring, which is weird since it's the simplest story ever best friends to lovers, it's a classic for all romantic dramas even straight couple, how can you mess that up?????

The two leads has acceptable chemistry, Du Zhi was slightly robotic, barely showing any emotions, which is fine because of his character and past, but it did put me off a little while watching, the only thing I enjoyed was Wang Zhan, he was adorable, a little childish and silly.

I watched the whole thing with a straight face, even the comedic scenes were not funny, the drama had good premise but terrible execution ~~

Had potential

I think the story has potential to be a regular BL, sadly this short series wasn't as impressive as it could have been, had it been written more meticulously.

The cast is fine, chemistry isn't bad, acting also was acceptable, the direction however is all over the place, large portion of the draws revolves around Makoto and Yuki in a very unentertaining way, we get to see only a couple of scenes that actually shows the two leads communicating together, bear in mind that the whole plot is about two lost souls finding solace in eachother so if you didn't show that, then you missed the whole point.

As I said it needed some polishing and proper script, maybe a more experienced actors too, but overall it was a nice watch ~

A BL better off as a Bromance

If you scroll down the comments and reviews you will find that many liked the story in early episodes, then half way through the series it lost it's charm and many lost interest or even didn't like it by the end.

This tracks with the beginning of the Romance between the leads, the first 5 episodes were beautiful, acting was acceptable, story was intriguing, the push and pull between the two leads was fantastic, story getting unwrapped beautifully as the series goes and it could pass as a Bromance or highschool drama about friendship.

Alas, romance has to happen, the beginning of the romance by the end of the 6th episode was so sudden, they didn't hint on any emotional aside from "caring" which is normal between friends, the two leads were too stiff in some emotional scenes, their acting was barely acceptable, just good enough to be watchable but they don't look comfortable acting as lovers and they don't look like one tbh, the awkwardness we have to endure between the 4 leads was unnecessary because the romance wasn't worthy tbh, I would pass on the dead fish kisses they showed us in the last 3 episodes for another sleepover with dorky moments that happened in the beginning of ep6 any time.

I believe this is the first time I watch a BL and want it to be more censored or a Bromance instead, because it totally ruined the last 3 episodes.
The writer did great in the first 5 episodes that I can't overall call it a bad series but again as a BL it's so bad IMO, and the two brothers thing was also unnecessary, it feels like it was written in a hurry with the mediocre acting skills from the cast i would not say it's a highly recommended series but maybe watch it for the first 5 episodes and for the friendship because it was nice.

Not bad

Usually the second seasons of BLs are either an extended episodes where we get to see the "honeymoon" phase (with rivals introduced) or a closure if the first one didn't have it/ended with a breakup, or just a continuation of the story if it's too popular.

Mostly I've seen the former and I always jump head first to watch the second season of the shows I've enjoyed.

This one is no exception, it was great, enjoyable, same vibes as the first, and very entertaining and funny.
The story isn't the best as it lacks originality or any new additions as expected, rivals appear, miscommunications, misunderstandings, then solving everything at the end.

I loved that they added more of the two managers, I wanted to know the backstory of their relationship and I'm glad I found it in the second season.

It's light, cute, fluffy romcom, highly recommended ~

Adorable

It's a very fluffy and cute drama, I loved the story very much the cast is adorable and all the relationships are healthy.

I like that they didn't dwell on the ML childhood and kept everything light and relaxing, it sometimes gave "utsukushii kare" vibes, with the obsession/Stan thing, but not in a creepy way.

Also less melancholic vibes, here everything is a fluff.

The comedy part is good too, it's not extremely hilarious like some comments suggest, but it's still very funny to some point, I giggled a few times while watching.

I believe it deserves a little higher rate , and I can't wait to start the second season,, I wish they will include more scenes for the two managers, I want to know the backstory of their relationship.

Oh my!! I need season two right now!!!!

This was fantastic!!

I started this as a BL but wow!! This is much much more than just simply a BL.

Tbh almost all the thai BLs tend to be simple, cute, fluffy, ridiculous with many plot holes stories... but this!! Ooohhhh this!!!!! it feels like a banal abbreviated description to just call it a BL.

Story was good, consistent but with some unrealistic twists, like I understand that you want to surprise the viewer but bringing dead people to live is just too tacky... Nonetheless it was perfectly executed, I couldn't find any plotholes, everything was well explained too, except maybe for the sometimes too good to be true situations.

Cast .... Spectacular!! Splendidly remarkable chemistry between the two leads and oh my baby Si Hyeon!! With his lovely melancholic gazes that hold so much pain and sadness!! And Tape was ... Wow!! Just wow! They guy basically pulled a one man show in this, because despite having a full cast of talents, he shines like the brightest sun!!!
Also, how come this guy is older than me 😂 sorry but he is now what 32-33??? FFS!! 😂😂 He doesn't look a day older than 25 !!!!

The cliffhanger end was sliggghhhhhtly weird, I don't understand the situation and why would "someone" reappear,.. I bet the only one who wasn't raised from the dead is the father lol speaking of fathers! How come half of the cast is missing here! I know none of them so I wish someone would update the cast because I gotta know the name of Mr.Joe, the King of the show!! This guy ATE and left no crumbs!!

I don't know what else to say, it's captivating, the pace is great, the sex scenes were HOT!!!! Like a plate of hot lava with extra spicy jalapeno sauce on it!! And the chemistry and friendship also worthy.
If you -like me- want to watch a BL, start this and you are in for a treat, bear in mind it's not a light fluff drama, it's heavy with a lot of triggers so be cautious, and also if you want to watch a drama that is deep with a story and good fights, give this a try!!! You definitely won't regret it at all ~~

Not bad

I don't really know what I was expecting but I know it wasn't that, yet I moderately enjoyed this drama...

First the story is very intriguing, the idea of having everyone's life intertwined is very interesting, cast was great too though I don't know why Kurashina Kana was the only one in the main role, if we have to choose one, I believe it should be Sato Honami... I understand that most of the relationships revolve around Arisa, but the character that was fully fleshed was Saeko, her past and her personality was fully explained, while Arisa was enigma from the beginning till the last ep where they have to finally explain what's on her mind.

I was confused by the end, it's not really an end, it's basically a "snapping" moment .. no one has closure, nothing changed, we only get to see how 7 random people's lives are actually connected, and that's it.

All in all it's very philosophical and artistic, some may not like it even, but judging as a whole -and since it's a Japanese drama- I believe it was good ... If you like these types of dramas, you will enjoy it~

Nice upgrade but still lacking

Compared to the first part, this is an improvement.

It's like the first part was just the introduction, and this part is the actual story.
First of all the uncut / cut ver are basically same, even the few scenes cut has nothing in it but it's china so...

The story is much better, I would have preferred it to be one whole movie instead of two parts, but nevertheless , this was not bad.

Acting is 2015 style obviously, nothing spectacular about it, just acceptable.
Story shows more in this part with good development and nice pace.

I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan to watch the parts/movie in one setting and have about 3 hours to waste ... Just keep your expectations low.

Good movie, but not really

I don't think we can call this a movie, an unfinished story at best.

There is a lot missing, and just when they were about to start something, the movie ends.

The story is Intriguing, cast is ok, acting is acceptable, but there is nothing going on.

As if you tore the first 10 pages of a book and just read them on their own, low-key forcing you to watch the next part to have your closure

I hope the second part tie up the loose ends because I need a closure, but judging this movie as it is, this is 5 at best ~

Fun

When you read a Japanese drama is based on a manga or a novel that it would be ridiculous, not necessarily in a bad way but the over the top idiot characters and silly comedic relief will definitely be presented.

This drama is no exception, it's a funny enjoyable and entertaining show, and despite being a medical drama it's very unrealistic and you can't take anything about it seriously.

The cases are very entertaining, the trio main characters are so much fun to watch, Kanna shines as a dorky cute and lovely genius who is very smart with diagnosis but very stupid with people.

It's a case per episode so if you found out it's not your cup of tea you can simply drop it without missing much.

Slow at first but worth it

Great premise with very slow start, it picks up through the first couple of episodes, and the end is beautifully tied up.

Probably I'm the only one who loved how short and kinda rushed the story is, because everything is very slow, and the more you watch, the more you want to see how will this end.

Story is great and I really loved Konno, he is straightforward, true to self and very very kind and lovely, probably one of my favourite characters ever in a BL, the perfect man. And as much as ( or as little as) we know about him, I couldn't find one thing to hate about him also his disappointed/ concerned side eye when hayakawa lies or show his fake smile is just amazing, I loved his minute facial expressions when hayakawa kissed him. Let's just say Hirano Koshu gained a new fan here ~~

Sadly I can't say the same thing for Hayakawa, he was mediocre, slightly irritating and self conscious but nonetheless, still likable.

It's a very soft, light love story with slightly vague end but a happy one ~

Not bad but too stretchy

I have to admit two things.

First: I have yet to find a re-adaptation from another country that is better than the first adaptation of any source material be it a mange web toon ... Etc. especially if the first adaptation is done pretty well.
Second: I love Cherry magic Jap. ver. So freaking much and I only watched this ver. Because I love the cast and I saw many good reviews but tbh I know for sure it won't raise to the bar of the original but I'll not hold this against it by any means.

So long story short, despite knowing that it's lacking as a re-adaptation, I'll try to judge it as a drama by itself without comparing it to the original.

Now like most Thai dramas, the main problem I have with them is that they drag at the end, and this one is no exception, I enjoyed till about ep7... Maybe 8... Let's say 9 to be fair, but the last 3 ep were completely unnecessary for me, I was skipping a lot, and not because it's bad or anything, but the story got boring I loved some scenes but they weren't enough to entertain me for the last 3 eps. The only reason that kept me going was PaiRock and if the only reason I continue watching a BL is the straight couple in it, then something is wrong 😂

The main couple are gorgeous, I loved them together.. TayNew never disappoint, Jan and Sing were adorable too and I love Jan so much that I wanted to see her more and more here, Song's character Rock is also fun to watch, but sadly the second couple were too lame, I didn't like Jintha, not because of anything but I couldn't see why he fell in love with Min Like, what happened you blink and they are together, with no reason at all, also I didn't think he was "cute" or adorable with his nervous introverted personality. Also Mark did his best and I love him for that but by no means he fits the character IMO.

Now I like this drama generally and I loved TayNew ver. Of the characters but I wish it was a little shorter.
But to be completely honest, if I ever needed to suggest Cherry magic, I'd definitely go for the Japanese ver. Not this one.

Great but slightly stretched

Now I haven't seen the korean Ver. Because I'm not a huge fan of the FL, so I didn't know much about the story except that it's a revenge story, and my review is based on this being the only version I've watched so no comparing or anything.

The story was great, it's very simple with hardly any plot holes which is great if you have a mind like me who keep pointing out mistakes. I also liked that they didn't show many scenes with the FL having being bullied or hurt and only showed flashbacks of the moments to gain enough sympathy without getting us heated up ~
there is, however, one thing I didn't understand in the time sequence in the plot but I discarded it because it's not very important.

Characters were spectacular, I liked the evil characters here xD but I didn't understand why they keep mentioning Reina's past, as if I'm supposed to feel sorry for her, she needed help probably if it wasn't for the need of a replacement, I would like her to be locked in a mental hospital somewhere 😂

The chemistry between the two leads was fantastic, I loved them both despite being slightly irritated by Takeru's very low-pitched, slightly whispery and throaty voice xD don't get me wrong, he could just stand there and I would admire him immediately, but in some scene his voice was distracting me xD I mean that in the nicest way ~

What I didn't like was probably the last 3 episodes, everything was amazing and ended perfectly on ep7 or so, it was the perfect revenge plan I think the best revenge was to have the bad people facing eachother, but since things have to happen I understand why the kept the story going, still it could be solved in like 30 mins or so not 3 whole episodes ~

Overall very good, up till ep7 at least ~
Recommended for revenge lovers
