I understand why it might seem a little weird for it to be here and I don't think people are against the series just for asking this. I was just answering a question that seemed genuine. Also, I don’t think co-productions pose any threat to the purpose of this site.
I'm not criticizing the series, since it earned its place among the best, but it should NOT be on this page. If…
Co-produced series are so few and easy to ignore that I don’t think they pose any threat to the purpose of this site. It’s nice seeing them here and being able to share and discuss them with this community.
I understand that at a first glance it seems to not fit here but I think being a live action adaptation of a Japanese manga and a co-production with even the creator contributing is good enough reason to be here. There are also other series that are co-produced that are here too.

About the music an instrumental version of 'Binks' Sake' and 'We Are' is used in:Ep 1: An instrumental version…
Garp's actor was so good! They just moved the revelation from the future to this early episodes and i think it worked to give some more screen time to the marines, Koby and the worldbuilding. I would have preferred though some of that time to be given to the strawhats and their interactions.
Hachi (a six arms octopus) was not included due to budget reasons same for Momoo the sea cow beast. Also, they did make the characters more realistic so Zoro fighting him in his condition could be seen as a little over the top.
I had no problem with the casting of Nojiko but i wasn't fond of the writing and direction in Nami's arc in general. I couldn't help but compare it to the original. All the revelations and the build up to her big moment hits so much better there but I understand they didn't have the time to include everything and expand on it.

Yes, they managed to capture the overall feeling of the story. It was a very enjoyable watch and the music did fit the vibe they were going with. (*^‿^*) ❤
successfully captured the unique essence of the original one piece world and actors did an impressive job embodying…
About the music an instrumental version of 'Binks' Sake' and 'We Are' is used in: Ep 1: An instrumental version of 'Binks' Sake' can be heard playing in the background of the bar scene during Luffy's flashback of his time with Shanks. Ep 4: An instrumental version of 'We Are!' plays when the Straw Hat Crew set sail on the Going Merry for the first time. Ep 8: An instrumental of 'We Are!' plays after the ceremony of the Straw Hat Pirates swearing by their dreams.
Only season 2 confirmed for now. Depending on how it does we might get more.
If season 2 is not a success we probably won't get another one. It happens will all Netflix series. They need to be successful enough to get more seasons. For this series there is enough content for at least 12 seasons and the original work is still ongoing but it costs a lot to make so they will probably try to play it safe and see how each season goes before investing more money to greenlight a next season.
I think it's worth watching even if we only get these 2 seasons.
I didn't understand? The series isn't even in Japanese or made in Japan lmao
Since we can't really know the percentage of input of every side for a production if it's considered as co-produced we just regard it as such.
Someone else also mentioned some time ago they tried to add One Piece and it was rejected but it seems the rules changed, and co-production are allowed now. There are some other co-produced series here too.
It's here because it's a joint production between USA and Japan. The cast is diverse to fit the world of the original creator. The setting is a fantastic one and a lot of islands are inspired from various places of the real world (this will be more apparent later). This is a live action adaptaion of a Japanese manga and the original creator and the original Japanese voice actors were part of the production too.

Yes! Even though dubbing a series in another language is not unusual, getting the original voice actors it's indeed a step further and they could be considered part of the Japanese production team.
I watched both versions and can’t decide which I like best. The Eng was good and felt natural since the actors use their original voice. The Jap was great too and the acting was so full of emotion! It felt familiar hearing them even though initially it was a little jarring hearing the anime voices but seeing real people. I was afraid of the lack of lip sync too but surprisingly it wasn’t very noticeable apart form few occasions. They Japanese voice actors are indeed very professional and managed to adjust their performance to match the original language. Also, I felt Nami’s scene hits harder with the Jap dub, but it could be because of my familiarity with the voice from the anime.

It would be interesting to know the percentage but since it's a co-production with Shueisha (who also publish the manga) and even if you only count the involvement of the creator it can't be a 100% USA series.

Is this Japanese, the trailer feels too Hollywood. Reminds of Pirates of Caribbean. Big fan of Johnny Depp. But…
It's a co-production and based on a Japanese manga. The creator was also involved and gave the final ok for the release. The majority is based on the original, but they did make some changes to make it work in real life. It has a unique style and is really entertaining! The production team seems to have added some Hollywood and Pirates of Caribbean elements too. I suggest to give it a try!

The writers strike is over so they are now working to finish the scripts for season 2. The actors strike is still ongoing though.
I put below an interview of the co-showrunner Matt Owens. It's really interesting.
