LYF seems to be one of those dramas you either like or not. I really liked the novel back in the day, so I was already familiar with the story and the characters.
Q31. Last but not the least! Thanks for everyone who participated and chimed in the Year End Drama Challenge!…
Not in any order (because I liked them for different reasons):
- The Legend of Shen Li > there was a lot about this drama that I liked - The Double > once the story picked up, it was a very exciting drama - Love Game in Eastern Fantasy > this might be the most adorable drama I watched this year - Lost You Forever > I watched both seasons back to back like one long drama and even though season 2 had some misses, overall I really liked this one - Fangs of Fortune > some flaws aside, this drama was visually stunning and emotionally moving - Blossom > I haven't finished yet, but this one definitely deserved all the praise so far
Q30"The End of the Year Drama Challenge is back for its fifth year! This is the 2024 edition with new and old…
30. I'd say yes. I took a small break, but eventually ended up watching some good dramas. A couple were admittedly from 2023, but overall it was a good drama year for me.
Succeeding in the entertainment industry is really not an easy thing. The backlash for The Untamed was ridiculous though. She did an amazing job in that drama and was one of the most memorable characters. That was the first time I saw her in a drama and I have actually been looking forward to seeing more of her. The leads in Blossom are definitely among the reasons why I put this drama on my PTW list initially. I was looking forward to seeing them shine in lead roles.
I’m still a little salty WenXiao couldn’t fight like she did in ep one. ZhuYan too protective lol
It makes sense as she's not physically strong. She can hold her own against weaker opponents like the Rabbit demon, but as the story went on the enemies became stronger so naturally stronger members of the team would be the fighters and the weaker members are the support.
I actually liked that they all had different strengths. Being physically strong is not the only valuable skill.
I really like that the different characters all had different weapons:
- ZYZ had his umbrella (I also love his one word spells) - LL had his toy drum - ZYC had the Cloud Light Sword - WX had the Baize token/flute - PSJ had her bow - YL had his kitchen knife
- The Legend of Shen Li > there was a lot about this drama that I liked
- The Double > once the story picked up, it was a very exciting drama

- Fangs of Fortune > some flaws aside, this drama was visually stunning and emotionally moving

It was fun to watch the battles.
