I agree with the last bit about knowing one another. I can't believe that you've been with someone for 4 years and you cannot understand them to know what they want and what not. It was clear he wanted a life together and her saying no or wait for me would be an issue was something she should've foreseen if she knew him well. But then again, I think it's at both ends. Because even he knew about her ambition, so asking her the question in such a situation was also not the best decision in the first place. So then that makes me question their bond altogether in the first place.

She talks behind her friend's back (in the kitchen), and drops signals by acting all *I can't find a word for her behaviour tbh* (it's actually quite obvious that she likes him, if he cannot read it/responds, that's good on him, not on her) and when she sees him struggling, she makes use of the opportunity without bringing it up with her apparent best friend even once? Like I don't know if Ji Xing still knows about whatever happened with his parents or if he knows why she wasn't responding. That is not how a best friend acts. Even in the latest episode, she should've come clean to her "best friends" that she's having dinner with her best friend's ex-boyfriend on New Year instead of hiding it. Especially when you know how distraught she was over him. I would rather be friendless than have a friend like her, tbh. I've not seen her do one good thing as a friend till now.

On the contrary, I don't think there were any clues. The guy was acting all top-notch, caring and supportive in front of her. I did not see a single second in 9 episodes where he expressed himself to her or even dropped hints that he was unsatisfied. He maintained the garb of being supportive of her dream. So, how was she to know how he is feeling unless he expresses some semblance of disagreement/hurt/issue?

Now if she overhears him talking behind her back and chooses to ignore it, that cannot be blamed on her as she was not supposed to hear it in the first place. So I do not consider that part as a clue as well.

I saw this show when it aired. Came back here today for some reason and I've read only 3 positive comments till now. It's all rants/hate otherwise. Even today! :(

Just playing the devil's advocate here (I'm not taking any sides) but about the ending and thoughts part, is it because it's Mijoo's story? Like she is narrating the story, start to end. We never really hear narration from anyone else throughout so seems pretty consistent actually.

I mean you see basic yearning by the ML but that's that. I found there to be no romance until the end. I wouldn't watch this if you're looking for romance.

I agree to what you've said 100%.

First, people are being really culturally insensitive by not understanding how alcohol works in Korea which is depicted vastly in most kdramas. Yes, they do it more here but they seem to have their reasons for that.

Plus, the show is about so much more than just alcohol. I can't believe anyone who watches the show properly doesn't see that. Which is why the comments here surprise me so much.

Same, it is quite difficult to survive the first three episodes just because there's nothing but drinking, but once I got past that, I was so surprised, and happy and cried a bucket 🙈

At least the Director has better business acumen than the VD in the sense that she recognises the worth of SHJ.

I get it, and I'm not denying that. But I couldn't hear her say that anywhere in the episode while she 100% admitted to her intentions towards the end of the episode outside the school which were rather selfish than selfless.

Even if that was not her intention, what did end up happening was whatever was said so again that makes it all facts being spoken.

I've been so mad with Pyo for the last 2-3 episodes that I completely forgot about the Vice-Director of her current academy and looks like she going to act like her snake self soon 🐍. What I don't understand is why. Shouldn't she be on the same side as SHJ considering the amount of revenue she's bringing?

I agree. My theory is SHJ has some problem with the way she views her job (considering the circumstances she started in) which I also gathered when she was so adamant about Jun Ho not joining the academy in place of his current managerial job. So now, maybe she's projecting that view onto others something like "because of me that teacher left 'high school' job to come to an 'academy'". She's wrong to blame herself but maybe that's where this is coming from.
